Practice winning over old coots at this dive bar now back to its original name of Sand and Sage bar and grill. We go here for a good old fashioned bar burger but have never been brave enough to try anything else. They advertise breakfast but have never happened to be there in the am. A pool table and electronic dartboard round out the ambiance.
Some Nevada dive bars are glad to see and encourage newcomers but it may take you awhile to break the ice here. The friendliest native was a young guy who moved down a stool to free up two for us. But then he tried, unsuccessfully, to bait me by commenting on my choice of Coors Light, which I said was the closest I could get to water.
