The Meeker Mansion was done in the Italianate style, using lighter warm welcoming colors and decorative touches reminiscent of Italy, unlike other wealthy Victorian era homes which are dark and gloomy.  I love touring historical homes and have not seen another Italianate Victorian.

The admission price is a bargain ($2 children, $3 seniors and students, $4 adults).

There are several special events held during the year:  the All American Antique Yard Sale, a Psychic Fair, the Country Crafters Holiday Boutique, the Cider Squeeze in October, and Christmas at the Mansion, when the home is decorated for Christmas and visitors are served hot cider and cookies.  The Mansion can also be booked for weddings and teas.  There is a gift shop gift shop featuring mostly books by and about Mr. Meeker and the Oregon Trail.
