My review is based on breakfast only.

I ordered one of their breakfast specials: 2 eggs (any style), corned beef hash and potatoes.  It also came with a side of toast (yours truly is a fan of the rye w/ buttah) and I recall everything being less than $7 for humongous portions - I had plans to take half home & eat half, but my friend was very particular to what I ordered as well so my combination breakfast was finished and I didn't have additional goodies to take home.  =(

Anyway ... back to the review on how good the food was.  I enjoyed everything that I had: 2 eggs ordered over-well perfectly cooked, not overdone.  Corned beef hash was tasty & the potatoes were really well seasoned, reminded me of curly fries.  Extra brownie points to them when I saw the check total for 2 was less than $15 --- sweetness.

Will have to return for a future trip to check out the oh-so-delicious cheesecakes and tasty eats as recommended by other Yelpers.  Meadowland's Diner gets my thumbs-up!

Well, I have not been to the Meadowlands Diner in a few years. I stopped coming here because of my disgust that they charge $3.50 for a glass of large OJ. I could buy a 1/2 gallon for that.

I had been going to the Candlewyk and was happy with them  until the recent re-opening after the renovation. The service has been terrible there.....almost non-existent.

So that brings me to my breakfast review of the Meadowlands. Came back here to give it another chance since the new Candlewyk has sucked.

First off the service was 5 stars today. I could'nt have asked for a better waiter. He came to the table right away, I never had to ask for a coffee refill ( refilled me  times without having to chase him down) and he checked back to make sure everything was good. My son is in CCD
for an hour, so we don't have a lot of time to spare until it is time to pick him up.... today, we were in and out with time to spare.

The food was typical diner breakfast food. It was ,good, it came out fast and was satisfying. Another plus were the prices .....they were a couple of dollars lower than Candlewyk.

On the way out the hostess thanked us and wished us a great day.
Very happy with my return to the meadowlands diner. I think I found a new Sunday breakfast spot.

Although I still think $3.50 is high for OJ.

The food and service was typical diner.  Not a bad thing, but not presented in the best light, either.

The pot roast had that orange colored gravy that all diners seem to serve.  Whatever happened to plain ol' brown gravy???  The potato pancake was odd, more like a croquette...kinda.

    The veggie burger was passable.

    Service was decent.

Typical NJ Diner. Love that I can get an egg white omelette, dry toast, and fruit for breakfast.  I find dinners overly greasy and not as appetizing as breakfast.

The food served here  goes beyond diner food expectations. The place is impeccable, and the service is wonderful. The staff is always fun and friendly. I recommend the mousaka if you like Greek food. The cheesecake is made at the diner and is Mmmmm, mmmm, good. I haven't had a bad meal yet.

As for the woman(?) who left the bad review because of no yellow mustard, you sound ignorant. Spell check is free on yelp. You should use it.

Not as iconic as Tick Tock but the food is just as good.  I may be a little biased since I'm close friends with the head chef's daughter.

However, the breakfast options are all great.  I've never ordered anything off the dinner menu because I usually visit diners after partying in the city.  Seriously, who wants to eat pot roast at 4am anyway?

The Italian and Greek Omelets are much above average for sure.  They also have some very good burger options, including the turkey burger...you can't even tell it's turkey.

Please bear in mind that this review is strictly for late night dining.  I've never been here while the sun was out.  However, I have seen a handful of sunrises here.  Not the best thing in the world.

    Ya gotta love fourth meal...

Coming to this diner for well over half of my life (most of my trips I can't say are that memorable, as I was half-cocked walking in after a night of drinking), this diner has been such a staple in my life.

I've never had a bad trip here.  Everything I have ever ordered has been great.  The service has always been wonderful.  The renovations it went under a few years ago were gorgeous.

I can't say feeling like  was at a high school reunion every other time I walked in was much appreciated, but when you drink in your hometown, it is bound to happen I guess.

The food is OK at best here.  I have been eating here for several years now and had my last straw.  I work beside this place hence why I have eaten here so much.  I usually order food to go.  Every now and then I run into a very rude person there that is just a B word to put it lightly.  No customer service skills at all.  recently I tried to order a sandwich with a slight modification.  A Philly wrap with Zucchini sticks instead of fries.  I told them I would pay a difference.  After a 5 min argument with this lady telling me I could not have Zucc sticks with a Philly wrap she finally agreed to to a higher price.  But seriously she was telling me I could not do that and she was less than pleasant about it.  Constantly telling me she is the boss and she makes the rules.  Keep in mind I have been ordering this for years and no one ever says anything about it.  They make it I pick it up and its about $9.  I'm sorry but if you run a restaurant you give the customer what they want, and this was reasonable.  So I go to pick it up and it was $15+ On top of that the only gave me about 15 to 20 sticks.  It was like a quarter size of the order.  I would not have cared about the portion if I only paid $9 as usual.  On top of that since I paid MORE than full price for the items they didn't even give me french fries.

Another story about how mean this B word is.  I was coming out of work and noticed a guy sitting on the rail.  I asked if he was OK.  Said he had a heart condition and had a few drinks and was not feeling well.  I asked if I could get him a cab or call someone.  He had me call a cab and his wife who was in the city working.  Cab took him home and his wife said she would arrange to get his car when she gets out of work.  I went into the diner to inform them that a gentlemen was not well and left his car in the lot.  I told this B word that the wife was coming later to pick it up when she gets out of work.  Do you know what they did?  They had it towed.  The owners of this place are heartless and deserve to rot.  Do not go here or support this place.  You are supporting people with no souls.  I hope to see a going out of business sign in the future.  Support a place that is more appreciative of their customers.

Disco fries are pretty good. The service was crazy quick. They don't have splenda which sucks but the coffee is decent. Prices are pretty good. Not too bad for a diner

I live less than a half mile away from "The Diner" and have been a regular customer for over 15 years, which really should tell you all you need to know about my feelings about the place.

It's a diner. If you enter the place with that understanding and the appropriate expectations, you will likely not be disappointed.

As with most diners, there are things here that are very good and other things that are just OK.  Some of that, of course, is a matter of individual tastes. There are dishes that I'm not wild about that the wife loves. Go figure!

The breakfasts specials here are hard to beat. While you can get "breakfast" here 24/7, the specials menu is available from 6 am - 11 am.  Great Belgium Waffles!

The lunch specials are also pretty good values. I'm a HUGH fan of the Goulash  when it's available. Unfortunately  so are a lot of other so it's generally gone by dinner time Grab some at lunch time if you can.

In years past I would have given the place at least 4 and possibly 5 stars. But the fact is that I have notice a slight but noticeable down tick in quality of late. They are probably cutting a few corners on some things trying to keep the prices manageable but again, I would prefer these places pump prices a little rather than cut quality. That said, you still get a decent value at the Meadowlands and many things haven't changed at all.

As with most places, the people are really what make a place and the folks here are, as Hawkeye Pierce would say, the "finest kind."

This place is shitty... maybe I'm a little picky or pretentious whatever but tell me y the hell does a diner not have yellow mustard!!!!!! That seems to be a north jersey trend that really annoys me... All I wanted was a veggie burger and apparently the stupid ass waitress thought it would be helpful to tell me that a veggie burger didn't have meat ..duh!! That's y it's a veggie burger !! Omg
I got a salad Which was Ok the best part of it was the croutons.. The hash browns sucked ass and not having any mustard didn't work for me..
I' just expect better. If I hadn't hAve been with fun friends I may have killed myself because I would then have been surrounded by imbeciles!

    Oh Meadowlands Diner,
our love affair has gone strong for three years now. You already know I love your turkey burgers, your wine by the carafe (oh la la), your mixed shrimp, scallop, and chicken over pasta, your salads with red beans and chick peas *mm* - Need I go on? Yes!! Because last night for the first time in years I had the delight of having your waffle (with ice cream, whipped cream and strawberries) for dessert... .and I SADLY say it is Far too common to screw up a waffle.
Meadowlands, you do the waffle great justice and bring it the honor it truly deserves.
Thank you.. thank you.  *wipes tear away*

From the moment our cute waitress, Patty, said "hi girly girls, whaddaya havin'?" we were smitten.  We stumbled on Meadowland Diner by pseudo-accident after searching it on Urbanspoon and even though we couldn't make a left to get to it (stupid Jersey highways) the extra mile and u-turn were well worth it. Coffee is hot, food good n cheap (kinda like me) and you just can't help but love Patty with her take-it-and-dish-it-back wit. We'll definitely be back!
