There was an interesting mix of people here, but overall it really was a "hidden gem." I went here on a Monday night and there were definitely ebbs and flows with the amount of people, but overall it didn't get too overly crowded.

Though certain parts of the outdoor patio are "smoking prohibited" its so small that wherever you sit outside, you may have smoke in your face. That's always the danger with outdoor spaces (if you're not a smoker).

The drinks were average price for NYC, the atmosphere was unpretentious and easy-going, and the extreme up-close view of the empire state building was unique.

Though, like other reviews explain, the elevator takes forever, so get definitely leave some buffer time. And there is only one bathroom for the entire place, so think about that before you break the seal!

    loved it.

probably my fav lounge that i went to in NY. It is kinda small but if you're lucky and you get a seat outside you definitely do not want to leave. you get a VERY close up view of the empire state building and they surround the outside with white christmas lights.

the crowd that was there the night i went was very chill. lots of tourist but that just makes conversations more interesting!

they do have some heat lamps but probably need more as the weather gets colder.

Upon entering the The Quinta Hotel, go straight to the elevators and there will be signs right above it directing you to the 14th floor, and to the right once you come out. For you claustrophobics out there, the elevator is VERY slow moving and small. You may think it's broken when it starts up, but don't worry....it will get you there.

Once there, you'll see a small narrow bar parallel to an open patio-like roofdeck. the bar is set indoors and offers some seating and coverage if you prefer not to sit outside. the roofdeck itself is very quaint and simple, with chairs that look like they belong in someone's patio, and some seating along the wall flanked with cushions. look straight ahead if you're against the wall and you will see the largest up-close of the empire state building you will ever see! some say it's TOO close, but is that really possible w/ with the ESB?

this may not be your posh, press lounge-esq roof top, but for a more casual down to earth night, this place is a good bet. the crowd looked like a good mix of groups of friends who all just wandered in for drinks and good conversation. nestled away in k-town, you would think there isn't much traffic here, but on a random wednesday night it was pretty full- we had to wait around to find a seat!

It was on the rooftop of the La Quinta Inn and they played some nice background music. Me Bar was more of a relax/chill type rooftop lounge, either for just talking and catching up with friends, pre-gaming or ending the night. Def was geared to more of mature crowd, sad it closed down.

The lights on the Empire State Building are always changing color, whether it's for St. Patrick's Day, gay pride, Yankee pride, Valentine's Day, etc.  Take a seat on the Me Bar rooftop for an incredible view of the Empire State Building.

Here are some positives and negatives:

Drinks are cheap, space is limited, this elevator scares me, best view, one bathroom, space heaters, can get crowded, can get touristy, intimate, the view, excellent first date spot, best if you get a seat, watch the lights go out at midnight.

Confuse your date by having them meet in the La Quinta Inn lobby.  Keep them puzzled and proceed to the 14th floor.  Head to the bar.  They should be pretty shocked when you get to the bar, at least my girlfriend was.  She should know me, I would never actually stay at a La Quinta Inn.

I have to admit when my friend told me she was having her birthday on the rooftop of The Quinta Inn I cringed at the thought.  Sometimes they pick places that are completely not my scene, but since it was her birthday I was going to go regardless and just make the best of it.

After walking in and taking the elevator to the top, I was pleasantly surprised.  The rooftop was actually pretty cool and pretty spacious.  The bartenders were pretty quick and you even had a clear shot view of the Empire State Building!  There was no music, which perhaps if they put a sound system in it would be a little bit better.

Wrote the following review for La Quinta Hotel Rooftop Bar.

This place has a nice hotel rooftop bar on the 14th floor with an AMAZING view of the Empire State!  It is soooo weirdly located right in the middle of Ktown..but then when you get up its not just a sea full of asians...very good mixed crowd- makes you forget your in KTOWN.  The rooftop is not glamorous but it is a chill place to relax and reminds you of sitting out on your deck or at a BBQ.  The drinks are cheap all the time..cocktails are $7-8 except for the Dark and Stormy and Pomegranate cocktail which is $10.   My French Kiss was delicious and came in a martini glass but may be too sweet tasting for some.  I got a million bug bites on my legs so I wouldn't come here again wearing shorts but overall a very nice chill place to relax!  I shall return, but only for a chill weeknight (not as a destination spot).

Also the bathroom reeked of weed

The rooftop bar is located on top of the La Quinta in Koreatown. You take the elevator to the 14th floor and walk up some stairs to it. You won't see any advertisements for it, but trust me, it's there.

I had a few $8 well drinks poured by a stong hand, not bad for the price! I'm used to $15 rooftop drinks. The views are great and its located practically right under the empire state building so its a sight to see. If you are hungry you can grab some free popcorn or order from any local restaurant and they'll deliver. We saw chicken legs being gnawed on, sushi, and salads. They also have heat lamps they will turn on when it gets chilly.

The music is bizarre. After they corrected the static that blared from the speakers for about 15 minutes, they put on a Latin mix. The crowd is one of the most diverse I've seen in the city, so that was kind of cool. You will find absolutely every type here.

Don't even think about trying to go to the bathroom. You will be waiting in a 30-40 minute line for the one unisex toilet. Yikes! I almost peed my pants! It would probably be better to take the elevator down and use a lobby bathroom...if they have one...

Not bad, not a fave, just A-OK.

Snotty bartenders. Whats with the attitudes on these NY rooftops!!!!!!!?

    Quite cramped inside and out.

Feels way to close to ESB, you will hurt your neck looking up.

About 15 large bags of stinky garbage were taken out at the peak of happy hour while some friends were eating take out Thai food they had delivered up there. Yes they bumped us numerous times with their filth. Are they trying to send a message make way for more trash???

230 fifth is so much better.

I had my doubts about this bar as it is located inside of the La Quinta in K-town but I was pleasantly surprised.

Take the elevator to the 14th floor and *poof*, dive bar with a patio and a view of the Empire State Building!  Since it was cold and sprinkling on and off, the patio was relatively empty and our party sat outside and talked about important issues of the day like Syrian protests.  Or maybe we just stared at each other while we drank beer in total, contemplative silence.  I forget.

Either way, they had a full bar and a good selection of bottled beers.  A Kettle and soda and an imported beer was $14.  Not bad!  Can't wait to go back when the weather is nicer.

(-1 star because it smelled like those bathroom air fresheners in the tiny bar area.)

Came here Sunday night (night before the Fourth of July) with a bunch of friends.  They had come here before and knew it was one of the cheaper rooftop bars.

The fact that it is above La Quinta is hilarious.  The elevator takes about 20 minutes (slight exaggeration) to get to the 14th floor.  I was expecting a large, open roof, but I was wrong.  It's pretty small and cozy.  There was a line by the bathroom and a line at the bar.  It's funny to see a legit line at the bar and not just people huddled around it.

The bartender was pretty friendly, though he seemed a tad out of it.  I asked for an Absolute and Diet Coke ($8) and he asked me if I wanted it frozen or on the rocks.  I gave him a strange look and then we both laughed after he realized what he said.  Water is conveniently to the side of the bar for your own pouring pleasure.  Or maybe inconveniently, because a group of people was always blocking it.

The one bathroom is kind of a pain since it did get crowded, but it wasn't too horrible.  As one of my friends said, it forces you to talk to other people in line...whether that's a good or bad thing is a personal preference.

Seating was semi scarce.  On a terribly crowded night, it would get annoying since there's not much room to stand around in a group.  There was a lot of bumping as people got up/moved around.

Music was just background music, sort of muffled and jumping from poppy to almost salsa-ish/European.

Popcorn stops at 8 pm.  Downer.

View of the ESB was cool, especially since it was lit up for the Fourth, but the actual rooftop aspect is sort of lost because you really can't see all that much given that covered by some tarp-like thing and there was a fence cornering us in where we were sitting.  Regardless, fun space and definitely one of the cheaper spots if you're looking for a little air.

    Holy strong ass drinks, Batman!

Seriously, the fact that this place is on a rooftop, the bartenders all seem to have heavy hands and the drinks are priced just right (especially for the recent grads who were throwing a party here) is probably the best part of it all.

I wish the La Quinta inns back home had this much swag!

So what is this place? It's a rooftop bar in a La Quinta Inn. Ktown. 14th floor. Small indoor seating area and outdoor patio. Bar is on the inside. If it's pack, the elevator attendant will make you wait in the lobby of the hotel. Hit up them couches. Comfy.

Had some beers with friends. Stayed about 30 mins. Got too crowded.

Recommended only for the view, free popcorn, and rooftopness.

Side note: When I looked at this check-in before my review, I had to flip to the pictures to refresh my memory of this place. Yeah, it didn't stick out too much...

Love this place. So sad it might not be here for much longer.
When I went for some birthday drinks here I was sure we were in the wrong place, considering it was on top of The Quinta Inn!

After you step off the elevators to the 14th floor you walk through the obscure emergency door to find yourself in quaint little rooftop bar. Feels just like a friends backyard fit with white picket fencing and unassuming lawn furniture. Oh of course with the ESB politely sneaking a peak over your fence ala Wilson (Home Improvement) style.

I love it because the people and atmosphere, both unpretentious. Drinks are served in simple plastic cups, food can be ordered, delivered and brought in from your hearts desire, and the people that frequent are just so great. Oh and sometimes they just bring out cajun peppered popcorn for the hell of it.

Def gonna come back up as much as I can before I have to say goodbye for good :(

Lovely rooftop bar.  No draft beer but some good bottled choices.  Friendly bartenders.  Chipotle dusted popcorn for free.

Downfall: one bathroom on the roof.   Even if you go to the lobby, one bathroom there too.  Also can get crowded.

Where do you go to celebrate ?

The place that I've dubbed "The Dive Bar in the Sky".

This place won't score you any real points with classy females, but sometimes I like to zig when other people zag.

Tile floor,  with no waitress service.
Just grab your drink at the bar, and grab one of your wooden barrel top tables outside.   Careful not to scorch your head on the heat lamps that are perched over the tables like a giant square eye from "War of the worlds".

Or better yet, sit inside, through the glass door that reminds you of your Grandmom's mudroom in Florida.

Don't worry about the cinnamon spice smell from their "special" cider drink,  mixing with the smell of "urinal cake" from the bathroom.

Just plop down on the low slung bench seats with cushions that look like they've seen more action than the back seat of a rental car.

Cool diverse crowd, but there ain't no power brokers here.
A mix of civil servants, hipster wannabes, and tourists.   Peppered with a couple of Korean girls who probably (like us) couldn't squeeze in to Kun Jip,  and this was their "fall back plan".

While there might be a view of the Empire State Building (I didn't notice it)  it's surely not of the "sweeping" vista kind, like other rooftop bars in the area. (330 Fifth Ave, Strand hotel or Shelburne hotel)

On "any given night", this place could work.  Tonight was one of those nights.   Beers are about $6 and spice drink was $7

Went here for a friend's birthday party on a Friday night.  Friendly bartenders, inexpensive drinks, and a ridiculously awesome view on the Empire State Building.

The only things that made our night less than perfect was the wait for the bathroom and the wait to get some space outside.  And the lack of music.

But a very cool place overall, I would definitely go back, especially earlier in the evening.

Make sure when you go to the outside sitting area that you look behind you!

My friend suggested Me Bar to our small group of friends and we saw outside sitting area and couldn't say no. We walked down 32nd and the whole time I'm thinking..there is an outside sitting-area-bar in ktown? Lies? We arrived at the address and it was the La Quinta Inn. We asked the front desk and they said "14th floor guys" So do not feel like the Yelp address is wrong, it's just a roof top bar!

Really liked the atmosphere a pretty diverse group even though the place is in ktown. They have heaters for the outside sitting areas, but only 3 of them so if you did not come dressed to sit outside, I would suggest staying inside.

    Bottom Line:
Got a great vibe from the place, bar tender was pretty cool, and a very wide variety of drinks. I will have to say the prices were a little steep, but it's not like I was not expecting it. I will say that this is not a place you go out to for the night, definitely a place you go after you have gone out. Great spot for drinks after a date too!

Don't forget to turn around when you go to the outside sitting area! You will have a "whoa" moment.

A relatively hidden rooftop bar that also happens to be one of the nicer places in Ktown.  I don't think there are any signs on the bottom floor letting you know this place exists.  In fact, when I heard about this place from a friend, I almost didn't believe him.  It's not easy to find if you don't know where you're going and I had to ask a guy working in the lobby if the bar was here.

Once you get onto the roof, there's a nice little indoor seating area along with a bunch of seating outside.  You get a good view of the Empire State Building and a bunch of the midtown skyline.  The drinks here are reasonably priced and I have to say it's a solid place to go.

how to conquer the empire state of mind:
    1. enter la quinta
    2. ride elevator to 14
    3. get off, make a right & walk right through the emergency door*
    4. grab table outdoor
    5. drop yo jaw, admire view & start dranking

When we moved to the East Coast this summer, this was our favorite place to go.  Totally casual, great view of the Empire State Building, and completely hidden from the rest of the public.

It's at the top ofthe La Quinta hotel in K town.  How random is that?  You get into the lobby and press the button for the top floor.  Once you arrive, the doors open up and BAM - you're at Me Bar.

It does get pretty crowded from the after work crowd.  On Saturday nights, however, it's not bad if you go early enough - 8ish? It's perfect for my 30 yr. old self - not too loud, not too drunk, just a perfect place to sip a beer/cocktail with twinkling lights above your head.

It's all true: this place is a little treat that the rest of the world doesn't seem to know about yet. The narrow indoor space with the bar at one end is separated from the outdoor patio by picture windows, and some of the outside tables have heat lamps. There's a really cool view of the ESB, but it hurts your neck to stare at it too long (it's literally right above you). There's a pretty solid selection of beers. And it's not really that crowded, at least not during the week.

It's the 14th floor of the La Quinta hotel in k-town. (Which is technically the 13th floor since they skipped the number between 12 and 14 when numbering the floors.) Just stroll right in and take the elevator to the top. But um, don't tell anyone else.

Unpretentious, intimate rooftop perfect for enjoying a glass of Prosecco with a friend.  There isn't a scene here if that's what you're looking for but this rooftop adds variety to the repertoire of Manhattan rooftops. Not everyone can be the star-studded rooftop; there has to be places for more common, general mass.  While this place is totally low key, I would not exactly call it a bastion of comfort in terms of furnishings and decor, but it is a place where anyone can stroll in for a drink and break away from the busy streets of K-town and greater Manhattan.

Sitting atop the 14th floor of the La Quinta Inn, this place has an awesome view of the Empire State Building (imagine looking up and seeing it up close and personal). Getting up the elevator that was as a fast as paint drying was a little annoying though...

Maybe people come here on Spring or Summer nights, but this place was close to dead when me and my friends went on a Sunday evening. BUT YAY FOR US!

I would say a bulk of their seating is outdoors, so going there on a cold December night isn't ideal, even with the heat lamps. But being that it was Sunday, and this is still considered a hidden gem, we didn't have to fight for seating. For $7.50, I was able to get a pretty stiff Crown and ginger cocktail. If their drink sizes were a little bigger, I would've maybe upped this rating +1 star, but ehhh, it is what it is....

The bartender was a little tipsy, but I think when managing a pseudo-dive bar with hardly and customers, you gotta make it more fun somehow right?

Cheap drinks (by NYC standards) on a roof-top bar with a view of the Empire State Building?! Yes please!

Free seasoned popcorn too?! Hell yeah!

This place isn't trying too hard to be something it isn't. It's just a low-key roof-top bar in Midtown. Perfect for a quick drink before hopping on the subway or PATH trains. The bartenders are pretty nice. Get there early (it opens at 5:30) on a nice afternoon; the seats fill up quickly.

I just wish it had more than one bathroom.

A small and chill bar with a swanky view of the empire state building. Good prices.

We needed a bar to chill out after we ate in chinatown, so we decided on this place. It was quite hard trying to find because its on the top floor of L Quinta. The elevator was INCREDIBLY slow.

When we got there, we didn't know how small it was going to be! But the interior decor is pretty awesome, with a brown tone to it and minimal lighting. We sat in the outside patio. The outside view is incredible because you are literally below the Empire State Building!

Most drinks are under $10, which honestly is pretty good for New York prices! I ended up getting a bloody mary. Not too bad, they even put olives in it. I would have enjoyed them with celery though haha.

Overall a solid 4. The view is probably the best thing about the bar.

The bar is pretty & petite. I mean, it's pretty petite!, whoops!

    Let's review...

"That girl is pretty petite." = A+
"Oh thank goodness, this zit on my face is pretty petite." = A+

"This lobsta is pretty petite." = D-
"This rooftop bar is pretty petite." = D-
"Your bewbs are pretty petite." = D- and possibly the last words you ever speak!

Like most bars with outdoor spaces in this city, arrive early, or don't bother. Otherwise, you and your group will be standing around waiting for some other group to get up to leave, at which point you may keenly be wondering why they're leaving... Maybe it's because...

Bathroom line (yes, one bathroom, one long sad line) is insane, especially since this bar is sized up like a shoebox. Essentially, the bathroom line would circle around the whole bar, and before you know it, everybody in the bar is holding their drink(s) on the line, waiting for their turn with the porcelain god...

Oh and why did they place the restroom so close to the entrance?, I saw, on a few occasions, people step into the bar, come face-to-face with the long bathroom line, and step right back out.

You may have better luck here on weeknights, maybe, good luck! But, forget coming here on weekends unless you have a loser friend that's willing to arrive freakishly-early to save a table for you.

Then, there's the view. With most rooftops, you stare downwards for the view. Not with this one. They decided to fence off the perimeter so that you can't stair down. Instead, you get to stair up, at all the surrounding buildings, the stars, the Milky Way, oh, and all those other people on higher floors that are looking down at you while you're prancing around with your Budweiser in this shoebox of an out-door bar trying to source a table...

I almost don't want to review this bar so I can keep getting seats. Of course the obvious attraction is the staggering proximity to the Empire State Building, a constant surprise as you look up mid-conversation and forget that this giant is almost close enough to touch. But the bar itself is good as well, a totally laidback, comfortable, inexpensive simple bar with a nice vibe. The only thing missing is another restroom (one unisex bathroom for all).

A bit of a meathead/frat crowd. The only reason to go is that you are on a rooftop...but it is in midtown.  The crowd is very "midtown" and a bit young. I kind of felt like this is where the kids go before heading out to the meat packing district. There were lots of tables and chairs.  The bar is pretty long so the line for the bar can be long but it goes quickly.  There is only one toilet to accommodate every single person in the bar, and of course there was a girl there that was trying to ask the guys if she could go in front of them.  One guy didn't like it and they started a world war insulting each other's looks.  The view of landmark buildings in New York is close and you can probably get some Korean goodies after.  Other than that, I would never come here again.

I went here last night and had a nice time. Nice sitting area, great view of the Empire State Building and good prices.

Mé Bar oh  Mé bar. You're tiny and oh so schmall but I can order Bon Chon and you'll deliver right to the bar.

Your drinks are strong, and though the patio is cramped, your views are quite beautiful. Bathroom lines long but inside wasn't bad. I've yet to spend time with you this summer. Maybe it's time for a visit.

This is the antithesis of the NYC rooftop bar. It's not swanky. Getting in is a breeze. Drinks aren't overpriced. There is no dress code. The "bouncer" was very friendly. The douche quotient is low. You get an upskirt view of the Empire State Building. I'm a huge fan of the unpretentious atmosphere. The indoor area has a glass ceiling. If you get there at the right time, you'll snag a seat and/or table. I ended up retreating indoors because I abhor secondhand smoke and there was less invasions of personal space. The crowd was a good mix of Europeans, hipsters, "normal" people, tourists, and the B&T folks.

One word of caution: There is only ONE unisex bathroom and the line can be long. Plus side, it was kept pretty clean.

I was with a group of 6, and we arrived just in time to get a table before the hordes of after-work crowds arrived! Nice happy hour, friendly bartenders, and simple-pleasant rooftop.  Don't come here expecting a "meat-packing district" style rooftop.  This is back-porch chairs/tables in a relatively small space with not much of a view.  But again, nice happy hour, service, and you don't have to "doll-up."  They don't serve food - unless you count the FREE popcorn - so we ordered delivery pizza to our table.  Sadly for all on the rooftop - the beautiful sunny day, out of no where, turned into a down-pour - leaving everyone to snuggle together under the tiny overhead that didn't keep anyone dry in horizontal rain!  Regardless of rain - lovely post-work drink experience!

I'd have given this place four stars if it wasn't so darn popular!

This is probably the most chill - and cheap - rooftop bar I've been to in the city. I got a strong rum and coke for $7. The bartenders are efficient - and obviously won't skimp on the alkie!

I wish people couldn't smoke on the roof, but I guess that's a big plus for people who like the to smoke.

    Free popcorn, too!

Everyone mentioned the unisex, single bathroom problem in their reviews, but there will definitely be a lull, so get another drink while you wait.

By 7:15pm, it was very crowded.

Where are these bad reviews coming from? People, this place is located on K-block. What exactly were you expecting?

This place doesn't offer anything outstanding, but still manages to attract a decent amount of crowd, which makes it a great casual roof top bar. I've also ran into older crowd listing this place as their secret hide out :)

Press lounge is inconvenient, Highbar is played out, 250 rooftop is too corporate...for once let's appreciate something that involves real people. After work hours are crowded, try going after 10pm for more space.

I'll repeat what every review will ever say of this bar: bar on the roof of the otherwise lackluster La Quinta Inn with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building.

I think that's the only thing that really draws one to this bar. The drinks are decent (though since I was on someone else's dime I couldn't tell you if they were reasonable priced for what they were) and they let me bring up my Woorjip dinner. I can imagine this place being quite the midtown after-work place due to its location. But the atmosphere isn't much to speak of: wood fence enclosure, lawn chairs, etc. If you're a smoker, you've got your own little corner, but that doesn't keep non-smokers from being downwind if that's a thing that irritates you.

The worst thing that happened to me there had nothing to do with the bar or its owners. I flying cockroach attacked me. No lie... It flew right at me and hit me in my throat (thank god not in my mouth)! I swatted it away not knowing what it was and once I did know... well, I still don't think I'm clean enough.
