This is our favorite restaurant in Clayton.  The food is a combination of standard bar food done right (burgers, wings) and some great Irish dishes like shepard's pie.  The homemade chips are a must but be aware sometimes you will get a basket from the bottom of the batch.  If this happens, just ask your waitstaff for a new one.

Service is normally outstanding. As with any restaurant, service depends on how busy they are, how many waitstaff, the cycle of the moon, and whether congress is in session.  This is a local joint where locals go to see friends and have some great food.

I like it, but I go there a lot.  Service is crap, but it's fun.  Try the beer cheese soup!!!

McKinley's is a pretty solid sports bar/Irish pub in Clayton.  They have done a nice job turning a strip mall into an inviting space.

They have a decent beer selection including Harp and Guinness.

The food is definitely above average for a sports bar and you'll find a fair number of families there for dinner.

I've had the Reuben several times and it has always been great.  The pastrami is piled high and the kraut or slaw is good.  They put out a nice juicy burger as too.

My wife generally goes with a healthier option;  the grilled salmon.  She has always been been happy and found it well cooked and seasoned.

Be sure to try the home made chips with ranch dressing.  They are very good start to your meal!

Service is friendly and efficient even when they are crowded.

Very boring.  High beer prices- $5 for a Guiness?  Food is boring.  Signed dollars hung everywhere I feel are tacky.  I go there out of necessity because there isn't much around.  I really wish this place was better- it has so much potential- but with lower prices and a re-done menu.  Yawn.

McKinleys is a great place to go for a night out if you are looking for really good food and good people in a casual atmosphere.  The waitress might remind you you're in Johnston County, but its great, they give you great service and the chefs in the kitchen make some awesome food.  We go for hot wings (watch out, they are HOT!) and I've tried several other things from the menu and it has ALL been good.  Its a fun place to take friends and family, whether you are there for the bar or the food.

Food's okay.  I mostly go for the Guinness/Bass on draft.  A little smokey for me.  I also like that they've got NTN.
