A beautiful, downtown hotel! For the wedding reception, we experienced the luxury and grandeur of the McKinley Grand Hotel. It's a gorgeous hotel decorated in heavy oak wood, lush floral carpet, and shimmering chandeliers. The ballroom is equally pretty and made for the perfect wedding reception venue. Alongside the ballroom are small conference rooms where a few days before I helped the mothers of the bride and groom prepare cookie trays. Just off of the lobby is Thorpe's Bar and Grill where some post wedding reception imbibing took place in comfy chairs and sofas. The McKinley Grand staff were extremely helpful with that preparations as well as others. McKinley's wedding coordinator Melinda is incredibly sweet and nice. After meeting her, I understood one of the reasons why my best friend held her reception there. The hotel staff was also helpful in getting my bf a room without a reservation and later clearing it up with us to make sure that all was well. My only complaint about the hotel was the television reception. In our hotel room, a majority of the channels were fuzzy or blurry. Otherwise, my hotel experience there was wonderful and I enjoyed staying there.
