Review from Kristine D.
Mountain View, CA
It turns out that McKenzie Park is a great place to celebrate your child's birthday! We hosted a casual picnic with 11 children there recently with great success! Tables are available on a first come first served basis which meant arriving 2 hours before the party start time.
After staking my claim to two tables, I absorbed a side of this park I had never seen during previous visits ---- the place was packed! The group, Kids Love Soccer was taking two groups of kids through game drills, a martial arts group was doing some interesting movements with something that resembled spears and another group of older folks was doing Tai Kwon Do. The place was teeming with activity, then suddenly it wasn't. Within 30 minutes of my arrival, the park was virtually empty. It was the wildest thing.
Regarding that birthday party, we found the park's contained layout helpful for keeping an eye on 11 first graders. The playground --- particularly the tire swing --- provided loads of entertainment and the nearby restroom was very helpful when little bladders alerted. The strong trees proved helpful for allowing a pinata activity. It was a terrific afternoon for all in our group, particularly the birthday boy!Listed in: Kristine's Parks Dept.

Review from April B.

The playground at McKenzie Park is in serious need of updating. I'm almost afraid of setting my little one on the sand for fear of the unknown that may be hidden among the debris.
Update (6/14): I hear the park is getting some major upgrades. All I can say to that is, "It's about time!!" Can't wait to see how it all turns out. I might even add a couple of stars or so if they do a great job.Listed in: My 'hood

Although nearby Heritage Oaks Park is larger, the kids I babysit prefer McKenzie Park. They just think it's more fun, and who am I to argue?
