McFaddens Restaurant and Saloon is located inside Citizen's Bank Park, right behind third base and it is one of many dining and drinking places inside the park.

This Pub gets packed and during a game, you may run into standing room only, if you do not claim your seat early on. You can buy a beer at many locations throughout the park, but if like me, you are not into beer, this would be one of the few places to get a glass of wine or a mixed drink. Now when I say glass, I mean plastic, because no glass is permitted inside the park. With that said, you can not grab a drink from McFadden's and walk to your seat, it stays inside the restaurant.

During a game you must show your game ticket, even though they are open seven days a week, from 11AM to 2AM and have an outside the park entrance, as well as another inside the park. During away games, you can still catch the Phillies on one of their 33 Hi Def Plasma TVs and 2 giant projector screens.

They have an outside bar and patio, as well and either place can be booked for private parties. They also offer tailgating parties, where they do the grilling for you, but the 20% gratuity is added on. This is an option that a friend of mine used and personally, with all the wonderful food and places to eat inside Citizen's Bank Park, I would have rather filled my belly with more than a hot dog or hamburger.

For being an Irish Pub, they have very few Irish dishes, it is basically pretty good American Pub food. However, do try the Irish potato soup and if you are up to a meal, they do have Shepherd's Pie.

They are known for their wings and why is it that finding a great french fry is so hard to do, well here the fries are crisp and will not disappoint, plus they have found many ways to top them off, like chili and cheese. They have salads, to burgers to steaks. My personal favorite is their rib eye cheesesteak sandwich, but I tell them to hold the whiz and substitute provolone instead.

McFadden's is known for their nightlife with dancing and music and their good affordable food. The kitchen is open daily until midnight, while the bar stays open until two, so get your orders in. The crowd is an eclectic mix of hipsters, yuppies, and punksters.

Three men walk into a bar: a Frenchman, an Italian and an Irishman. Each orders one beer. Three flys fly into the bar and one fly lands in each man's beer.

The Italian man plucks the fly out of his beer, says "tutto e bene" (all is well)" and drinks the beer.
The Frenchman shows his beer with the bug still inside it to the bartender and demands another beer.
The Irishman yanks the bug out of the beer, grabs it by it's wings, shakes it while yelling...

"Cough it up, you wee theivin' bastard!" .

I'm going to frame this review around a quote from a friend of mine, since she pretty much wrapped up McFadden's in one sentence: "Okay, so the inside is like spring break, and the outside is like a hipster festival." Yep, so here we go...

So first, the "spring break" scene:

No matter what drink you order, be it beer, a mixed drink, or even just a shot, you'll have it served to you in a plastic cup. Yes, a plastic cup. All the cups are the same size, and they're all plastic. It's not a huge loss, as there's nothing really special on tap anyway (Blue Moon, Guinness, Miller, Lager, Sam... that's it folks!). They do have a full bar, though, so don't feel restricted to just beer.

The music inside was okay, mostly contemporary tunes you can dance to and alternatvie rock. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing offensive, and nothing you haven't already heard at a bar 1000 times already. At one point a game of Limbo broke out behind us. No fooling.

To McFadden's credit, there were hot girls giving out free shots, and no, not in plastic cups... straight from the bottle. Spring break indeed.

... and the "hipster festival":

Outside was nice, but since it was pretty chilly outside I spent little time here. Besides having another bar outside, there was a little stage with live music. The featured entertainment was a guy performing an acoustic version of Men at Work's "Land Down Under."

Honestly, if this bar were anywhere else in the city, I'd give it two stars, and it wouldn't be in business long. However, as it is physically part of Citizens Bank Park, it manages to squeak an extra star out of me on location and atmosphere alone.

I hope I don't sound too critical here, as there's a surely many good times to be had at McFadden's. If you're a Phillies fan, this is a great place to do you pregame and/or postgame celebrating.

Great place to go before and after any sporting event in South Philly.  Its also has its own separate entrance into the ballpark (Citizen Bank Park).

Food: A - good bar food, love the waffle fries, chicken fingers, burgers, whatever.

Drink Specials: C+ - So go figure, they decide to have their drink specials before 5pm and after 7pm, and of course we are there between 5 and 7pm before the game.  Lame.  But Michelle was right... cheaper than the $7 beers inside the ballpark.

Atmosphere:  B+ - There's a decent dining only area, large bar space, and also an outdoor area to drink.  And plenty of flat screen tv's to watch the games.  And of course, if you are pro-Philly sports, always a great space for team camaraderie.

I know, I know.  Just having a bar inside the park is nice...  And of course I've utilized this place many times before and after games.  Even had a great time here a few times.  Over it's history I feel the food has varied a bit as they've changed the menu.  At my most recent visit the food wasn't too bad for regular pub food. But overall I feel this place is a disappointment just like it's namesake in the city.  I'm a bit of a snob and why, at a bar this big can't they offer a few more interesting beer options when you can get tons of great local Philly beers INSIDE the park?  Plus, the service here here has usually been par to miserable.  The servers are often friendly but sometimes seem to get too busy to get anything right.  I sat at the bar last time and my tender didn't stop to talk to me for about half an hour even though my beer was empty.  I had to track her down at the end of the bar where she was sipping a Red Bull and talking to an older gentleman who was probably tipping her well all night for her low cut top...  Sorry, it just sort of sucked.  I guess this is what you'd expect from a hyper busy bar at a ballpark.  But it was never worth 3 stars or more in my eyes.

I visited McFadden's last night for game five of the World Series. I am glad I went early. This is a great place to go before or after a sporting event or concert (hung out here before The Police concert last summer) in South Philadelphia. Last night was probably the most crowded this bar has even been. Not only is this place a bar, but it is also a restaurant. They have some good "bar" food. I got the Fireman's Cheesesteak. This cheesesteak was half chicken and half steak. American cheese was melted with the meats and it comes with buffalo wing sauce. I added bacon and fried onions to the mix. It was a great "Philly" cheesesteak. The French fries were awesome. Someone in my party raved about the fries. The meal filled me up before the Phillies World Series Game five.

Our group shared some fried calamari with some other Phillies fans. The calamari wasn't the best I ever had, but it was edible. The Phillies red lager is good here. They also have some other beers on tap. The beer selection isn't the best, but it is also not the worst.

This place has tons of TVs to catch the game. The service was good. Our waitress was good looking and took good care of our group. I was surprised.

So as you may or may not know MCfaddens is a chain of bars.  This particular one is located just inside Citizen's Bank Park.  In fact on game night, you must be going to a game to get in the door.  On a non game night, anyone can roll up there.   After getting my ticket scanned to get into the park, I was asked once again to display my ticket to get into the bar, huh?  really?  How could I... but... nevermind, here you go.

First off, this bar has both indoor and outdoor spaces where one was free to inbibe and take in the scenery.  The scenery people was amazing.  The ballpark is just so beautiful.  Just kidding, that not what i'm talking about.  The female bartenders at Mcfaddens are hot.  I'm talking about smoking hot.   I must have fell in love like 8 times last night, all during my first beer.  Yeah it was that good.

After the game this place turns into a complete shit show.  As it was described to me, you feel like your in a beer commercial.  Hot chicks standing on the bar pouring whiskey down your thoats.  Young ones and cougars alike mixing it up on the dance floor getting down and dirty, like very dirty... very very dirty.

go there and see for yourself.

Show your ticket on game night, and hang out in the bar, flat screens every where, full bar service, food is availalbe, friendly bartenders and people.  Alhough, the drinks were pretty pricey.  I think I spent $30 with tip on 2 drinks.  Ouch!  I miss the Short Stop in LA.  But, I do like the fact that you can get your buzz on with something besides a $20 beer, then walk to your seats and enjoy the game.  Great idea and concept that more ball parks should have!

A good place to go for a bite to eat if you are planning on going to a ball game.  It is generic pub food and is a bit pricey since it is connected to a stadium.  There are plenty of places to eat inside, though, so you may want to bring something and eat in the parking lot or grab something while watching the game.

A bar in a baseball stadium?  Genius.  You've got a place to go and continue drinking once they stop selling beer in the stadium.

Sometimes the Phillies come here, too, which is cool.  And they often have live music.

The place is big and pretty generic.  But it's well air-conditioned, which is a relief during hot days.

I love baseball and the Phillies, simply writing this review has my baseball juices flowing.  Baseball season is around the corner, and with baseball season comes trips to Citizens Bank Park and Mcfadden's at the Ball Park.

The place is huge and has a countless amount of TV's to watch any and every sporting event on.  Mcfadden's is a great place to "warm up" before the game, and a great place to hang out while traffic clears out after.

If you go during the summer, make your way outside to Mcfadden's patio, where often times there is live music.  Also, make sure to check out Mcfadden's before and after any winter sporting event for a quick pre or post game meal and beer.

Very nice bar.  ALthough a cover to get in?  Really?  Bartenders are nice and socialable, and they all wear the female jerseys for whatever game is played there.  I came for the NFL game and they all had Eagles jerseys on.  The drinks are poured well, and decently priced.  The crowd is all Philly people obviously, which definately puts a damper on everything.  Philly people suck unfortunately.

the wings were pretty good, but i could do without the girl in the bathroom handing out paper towels for tips.  it must've been a strange day, because tons of female servers were in the restroom gussying up and hairspraying.  what was that about?  i just came for beer, wings and the game!
