Even though this is a chain..it certainly doesn't feel or taste like one..This is usually my first stop when I hit Baltimore; since I normally stay at the Pier 5 Hotel. (also excellent)
The bar is a great place to start with the happy hour appetizers and the drinks that they certainly don't hold back the liquor. The wine list is extensive and very good (something for every budget)
I have eaten in the dining room a few times; but I prefer the bar...the bartenders are super... and never at a loss for conversation!
A pretty decent happy hour.... for food that is. From 5-6:30, $1 oyster shooters, $2 for a plate of wings, and $4 for delicious steamed mussles. their drink specials however weren't all too special.
I probably would never go there for dinner though. the wait staff seemed a little snobby.
Why is this place so popular again? If you call yourself a seafood restaurant but doesn't know how to make a good tuna dish.. then maybe you need to call yourself something else.
Overprice and overrated. Enough said

I had always wanted to go here but when I got there I was very let down. Plus we had to pay $20 to park at the Pier V parking because there was a concert at Pier 6.
The place look nice for the most part- however, I was very put off because there wine glasses were VERY spotted! When you are against the water background the spots stick out like sore thumb.
It then took forever for our salad and soup to arrive. I had the seafood and corn chowder which was good but the Hubby had the Caesar salad which had no flavor what so ever.
For dinner I had the Bay Scallops with garlic butter and some sort of bread crumbs. They were the smallest bay scallops I had ever seen. They were cooked well but after a few bites the flavor was gone. It reminded me of a soup- the butter and bread crumb mixture with the scallops. Would have been much better it thickened around the scallops. It was served with a rice pilaf and asparagus which were both good. Hubby had one of the steaks which he said was nothing special and had no seasoning on it at all.
For dessert we had the trio. Dessert was the best part of the meal (besides the view). It had 3 mini things- a bread pudding, crme brulee and a banana pudding. So the best part of the night was dessert and the view. The dcor is nice but besides those 3 things nothing else was any good.
We both said we wont be going back again!!
mccormick & schmick's! need i say more. another franchise but sitting by the inner harbor in a touristic locaton. good place to take a date to. : )
