McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

The ambiance added to the experience, but the food was out of this world. You have to request Betty Jane because she by far was the best waitress we ever had. Truly! We left so happy and realized how much the service enhances your dining experience.

My husband and I decided to have a nice seafood meal and M&S did not disappoint us at all. First I'll say the service was spectacular from the greeting and being seated immediately to staff checking on us regularly.
My husband ordered the seafood Alfredo which was just the right portion with an abundance of seafood. I ordered a few of the Blue Point oysters as an appetizer and the seared Sichuan Ahi pared with pineapple ponzu as my meal. Although the ahi is an appetizer it is served with 7 large cuts. The meal was not heavy and again all serving were perfect as we were not left wanting more and we were full.
M&S is perfectly situated by the water at the harbor and has a beautiful view in the spring and summer when sitting outside. Inside seating has low mood lighting and very busy but the food makes up for everything.

The ambiance is beautiful! Nothing like a restaurant that overlooks water. Priceless views.

Happy hour menu is pretty good.

My date ordered several items off the menu but he only got two of the three.

When the bartenders did the shift change, the original lady who took the order didn't say bye or check on us. Had she done that, she would have realized that my date didn't have all his food.

He was super nice about it, didn't even complain.

When the new bartender asked if we were okay, he asked about the missing food and she stated she would check but she didn't.

Before we were getting ready to leave, I asked about it once more and she realized it wasn't on the check.

With that being said, service could be better but the food and drinks are great.

Sunday Funday! This restaurant is in a great location. We had views of the water at the National Harbor. Although it was very busy at the harbor that day with many people enjoying themselves outside, the restaurant was satisfyingly quiet.

We were seated at a large table and served promptly. The server admitted to being new to his role, only two weeks at this restaurant. However, he did a great job, explaining the menu and making suggestions. Although he forgot two of our items, he was gracious when it was brought to his attention and corrected the problem immediately.

Our food was served hot, and everything was delicious. They do a real great job with their sauces. Heads up, they do not serve large portions of food. So plan on ordering a few courses if you are really hungry. Cocktails were pretty, but smaller portions compared to other restaurants I have visited.

Overall, I think you would enjoy a lunch outing at McCormicks.

Came here for some Claim Chowder and lunch. Seated promptly, and our server brought bread and drinks promptly. I ordered the Claim Chowder and Fish tacos and my wife had a Crab Cake. The fish tacos had something it was topped with that made it taste bitter. The fish itself was battered and cooked perfectly but the toppings made it rather unpleasant to eat. The Clam Chowder and Crab Cake was delicious. Our server could have been a little more attentive but overall we were satisfied.

I LOVE the atmosphere, the views, the vibes, and the Fish & Chips, I HATE that we had to wait almost an hour for our food and it was not hot. The seasonings, crispiness, and tenderness of the fish and fries were perfect!!

Definitely avoid this place if you are looking for high quality steak! We spent well over $100 for food that had no flavor, was ice cold and was overcooked. Giving 1 star only for the bread and the cocktails. The service was also bad- we had a reservation, waited 20+ minutes for a table when the restaurant was over half empty, and then waited another 10+ minutes at the table for our server to greet us. When we walked in, we noticed a bunch of dirty tables, and staff (including the manager!) standing around on their phones and talking. As we were getting ready to leave to go to a different restaurant, our server finally came over.
It was all bad from there. Our steaks tasted horrible, were overcooked and disappointing. One filet was ordered "scampi style" and the filet was covered in a thick, cold butter sauce. Gross!
The other filet was dry and cold with a slab of butter on top. The lobster tail was super rubbery.
The sides were probably the most disappointing, but perfect portion sizes. The broccolini was roasted? with a sweet sauce on it. We could barely eat it. The lobster mashed potatoes had NO lobster whatsoever. It tasted like mashed potatoes with a bisque poured on top. I think we had about 2 bites of that each and then we were done.
They should definitely work on their menu, so their food is not misleading. Either that or make sure the cooks are preparing the food correctly with all ingredients present.... We will definitely not be back!!!

2 stars: Reservations were full, but we were lucky enough to get a table by the bar. The hostess was super attentive, checking on our table at every turn.

1 star: The wait to be served was crazy long, so we placed our food and drink orders all at once. I'm not sure if the food was actually good or we were just happy to start eating because we were starving.

Still on a quest to find good seafood, my aunt brought us to this restaurant by the harbor. Wait time was reasonable and the atmosphere was business casual-ish. My aunt suggested her favorites - the crab cake and the calamari and they were both noteworthy to be called favorites. Each dish cooked with the perfect seasoning and right amount of crunchiness in the breading. The sauces are likewise perfect complements to each dish. We also enjoyed the lobster tail that we ordered and found the dish very delightful and the mashed potato was equally delicious. This restaurant definitely offered one of the best seafood I have tasted so far during our trip!

I went back to this location and there was definitely some improvement. Our bartender was Paloma...I forgot to mention her before. She was great the first time and was great this time. She makes great flavored lemon drops (my fave is the strawberry).The food was better (perhaps we just made better choices...idk). I do think the happy hour food menu could use some revamping. The vibe was better as well. It was more of the business casual type vibe that I was expecting.
I'm glad I gave them another try, it was a much better experience this time around.
