I Love finding new parks to explore in Orlando. I Came across Mayor Carl T. Langford Park while searching for another.  It's a nice quite spot during the week.  Good place to bring a lunch or picnic, as there are benches scattered about.  You will also find a few pavilions with a number of picnic tables.

This park would be a good spot for group gatherings.  Along with the pavilions there are two playgrounds, and restrooms.  There is a small parking lot, but plenty of off street parking as well.  You will also find basketball and tennis courts located at the SE corner of the park.

There are some historic trees located here as well.  The park is the starting point to a Significant Tree Tour for the city of Orlando.  The trees give that welcomed shade in the Orlando heat.  Nestled between the trees is a small creek.  There is a bridge over the creek that kids are sure to enjoy.

This is a great place if you are looking for a scenic park with plenty of shade.

Cool park with a gazebo, playground, several pavilions, basketball court and wide sidewalks. There are plenty of trees, too; so much in fact that most of the park is shrouded in sweet, sweet shade.

Nice place for a walk, picnic, etc.

This park, just minutes from downtown, feels more like a lush oasis.  It's tropical and wonderful for anyone wishing to bask in a little of Mother Nature's creations.  It's technically open from 5am to Sunset and is kept up well; like most of Orlando's parks.  You can't bring alcohol though so leave that out of your picnic basket.

There's a parking lot near the Neighborhood Center as well as a pull-through area right off Central if you want to stop quick and take a look.  There a nice paths throughout the greenery and benches for lazy afternoons with a book.  Your pets are welcome as long as you clean up after them.  If you have kids to entertain, there's a small play area for them as well.  It's not state-of-the-art or incredibly fancy but it will occupy their attention at least for a little bit in case they're bored of their surroundings.

All told, the park covers about 22 acres which is a great amount of land for an outdoor haven located downtown.  If you haven't gone, I highly recommend this park and will bet that you'll be glad you went.

A pretty sprawling park for Orlando.  It's a good place for bike riders, because of the paved sidewalks.  There's one odd area that looks like it was hit by a tornado, with trees and bushes flattened and on the ground.  You can also find wonderful things here, like unused condoms and severed babydoll heads.  One man's trash...you know the rest.  Overall, a cute city park.

Maybe not the best park in Orlando, but it is a great place to walk around.  They have wide walking paths and lots of shade.  They also have a concert in the park the second Sunday of each month at 2:30pm.

This is a fairly large park for downtown Orlando. Its got beautiful scenery and paths of decent width for walking or otherwise getting around. My favorite aspect of this park is the suspension bridge, its only about 4 feet above the ravine underneath but suspension bridges are fun no matter what the circumstances. This park also has a unique long wooden deck that twists and turns over what looks to be a swampy area. maybe for gator watching though I doubt any gators reside their now. But in case one does happen to saunter by their are observation areas scattered about this contraption. Langford Park has alot of picnic areas and some grills, would be a fantastic place to hold a team BBQ or family get together. I've never seen it that crowded, it's probably fairly unheard of to anyone but locals. There are two playgrounds, one for younger children and another for the older age bracket. There are even some tennis courts and a basketball court in the back. The only possible negative aspect of Langford is that its south side backs up to Orlando's project housing district so it may not be the best place to hang out after dark. But I've certainly never had a problem. So grab a soccer ball or Frisbee and check it out.
