I love visiting family in Iowa. However, for my son boredom sets in quickly, especially if his cousins aren't around. He likes the nearby park, loves Molly the cat and enjoys helping his grandmother make her wonderful "sloppy joes". After that wears out, he and I are usually on the road and exploring the "best" that Ames has to offer.

It didn't take my son long to discover Mayhem (Collectibles) for its wide variety of cards including whatever is popular at the time (and boy does that change). He also likes to chat things up and try to make "trades" with the knowledgeable, albeit nerdy staff.  And his father doesn't mind too much as he's usually either wandering other parts of Campus Town or rediscovering his previous love for DC comic books.

One of the coolest comic / gaming shops I've been to. They have plenty of tables for games. Also a good selection of anime.
