Mayfair has long been a semi-defunct establishment in Coconut Grove. It changed from a meaningful place of night life to a deserted area with little stores here and there. They used to have a movie theatre. One that I really used to like. They converted it into weird business offices overlooking the center. It still houses classics like the Miami Improv and have added a few other stores like the African store, but has taken away many restaurants like the upstairs Japanese restaurant, and the restaurant on the balcony. Border's bookstore used to be packed but it was taken away and replaced with some art gallery. People rarely come to Mayfair and therefore miss out on some of the cool little shops on the perimeter and in the center. Nothing amazing to see though and it's really a shame that it used to be a place to have fun but now pretty much stands as a monument to history. Mayfair hotel and resort is another feature of Mayfair.
