We love Mayan. From the perspective of a family with three boys, there isn't a better value in Olympia. Ignore the haters. If you have kids and like TexMex, you'll like Mayan. The chips, salsa, rice, guacamole, and refried beans are great. The enchiladas and fajitas are tasty. Mayan is my boys' favorite restaurant. They always pick it. Avoid the chicken quesadilla. It's made with their braised chicken, which is too wet to put on a chicken quesadilla. The shrimp Mazatlan is awesome though.

The service here is great! The food could use some help. I got some chicken tacos and a side of guac. The guac was good, as were the chips and salsa. The chicken in the tacos were cut up into tiny squares, not shredded like I thought it would be. It tasted overcooked and lacked flavor. Adding salsa and guac (and my hubby's rice and beans) helped to make the overall dish taste better. If I come back, I will stick to strictly salsa, guac, rice, beans, chips and beer.

This place was horrible. Coming from 20+ years of Southern California Mexican food, plus my dad's side of the family. I'm always amazed at how some stuff passes for Mexican food at restaurants.
This is one of those blow through your stomach places, that give you huge portions but lack on the taste. Also the service sucked for us at least, we were put in the far back and it took forever for food and drinks. The chips tasted stale and the salsa had no spice to it. Which of course led to the food be very bland and absolutely no heat to it at all.
The bar look nice, but stay away from the food. -

This is hands down the most disgusting Mexican food I have ever had. I just wish I had checked out the Yelp reviews before I ate at the Mayan. Oh, I could go on and on about how awful this place is from the service to the food. But I'll just point out a few important factors. First off I get tired of eating the same old, same old at Mexican restaurants around olympia. You know stuff off the "Combo" list. So I decided to try the Chicken Rolled Quesadilla for a whopping $10.25. They sadly attempted to cut my rolled up quesadilla into three triangles to make it apear larger on the plate. It had about 1/4 cup of shredded chicken, a scant trace of cheese, and something that was supposed to be bacon even though I had my doubts (*one strip of bacon.) Also this abomination of Mexican food made me sick a few minutes after I ate it, and I have a pretty tough gut. I would be afraid to take a look at how dirty their kitchen is. You've been warned!

Boring & generic. Mexican food around here can actually be done well so no need for this chain. Overly fried Chile rellenos, a big heap of canned refried beans, and over priced.
Check out one of the local taco trucks instead! -

I eat a lot of Mexican food. Mayan does it right, as far as I'm concerned. The staff is great. They always seem glad to see us. Very comfortable atmosphere. Great pricing. We go there at least once a week for lunch. This is my first choice for Mexican food.

I've been to this place a few more times than I'd like to admit (thanks to my ex) and probaly than my stomach can handle. I LOVE mexican food and can stomach any Chicken Enchalada around, but the last three times I've come away a little squemish.
Services is fair, drinks vary on the night, food has good portions and the price is alright. I like the unique exterior, comparative to other places in Lacey. The interior is basic, I found out there was another half I've never seen very quiet but basic Mexican chain like.
I'd go here if it was close but not if there was another option. -

As I drove to Cabela's to load up on guns and ammo for the impending Zombie invasion, I noticed this establishment, and thought not-too-much of it... I assumed it was your average Azteca-ish chain Mexican restaurant re pleat w/ tacky shit on the walls and some kid pushing the taquito sampler.... but after a grueling shopping trip, I needed sustenance, and settled on this Mexican roadhouse for convenience sake... my previously mentioned preconception was wrong - this place is the balls.
Huge portions, reasonable prices, and more chips and salsa than can be fit in a poorly maintained U-Haul speeding across the Texas desert. Half the staff cannot even speak English - Oh the ambiance!
I'll be returning on my next run to the (Oregon) border. -

Was in the mood for Mexican - stopped at 3 other places that were CLOSED 9pm Monday night... They were open!
Got the Carnitas - my only complaint was the celery in them... did not make for a good bite, but the steak was good.
Had a Margarita - and another, and another.
I think I would try the little holes in the wall joints that were closed before coming back - but I would come back. -

I love the Mexican food at this place. Besides the Mexican food that I would enjoy in family gatherings while growing up, this was the next spot! This used to be a 5 for me as a teenager until I went back to Los Angeles, CA :) lol Still very good!

We go during the day when they have the lunch specials. The food is good and worth $5-6 a plate! One of the better Mexican restaurants we've found in this area, so far.

Barely edible. Do NOT get the "happy" hour buffet. Ever had those frozen Mexican dinners from Swanson? They're better than this place.

El Gut-o Bomb-o. This is the standard Tex-Mex that you can just about anywhere. I had the Tacos al Carbon, and they were just okay. Five hours later and I still feel like I could drink a couple of gallons of water. Note to self: NEVER go out out to eat on mother's day. This place just confirms my opinion that the best Mexican food in Olympia is in Centralia: La Tarasca. Trust me on this one.

Although the portions are large and well-priced, the food is fairly standard tex-mex; the only reason to visit here over the much tastier (and more authentic) Paco's Tacos down the road is the extensive list of delicious and HUGE margaritas.

What may have saved this place's third star is the price. $5 lunch specials. That's a deal. But the service was something that could be improved. The waiter was nice, but it took a while to figure out, who's order was who's, and who ordered what. The food was not too bad, but wasn't that great.

Good food marred by a very bad waitress. The most basic quality that you would expect to find in a waitress/waiter was completely missing in our waitress. Which is a pity since the food here leaves me very satisfied.

I've been here several times, and the food is always very good. The service is decent, and we always get as much salsa and chips as our hearts desire!

I've been here many times with my coworkers for birthday and going away celebrations. It has been very bad at times and sometimes it is good. Very inconsistant!
