Maxdelivery is my SAVIOR. They deliver everything I could ever want in usually less than an hour.. up my SIX flight walk up. They are fast and always deliver exactly what I ordered.. and even my Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches arrive frozen fresh from their freezer to mine.
The most incredible thing I've discovered is the Cassinelli Fresh Pasta (penne is a great choice.. or the Cavatelli with cheese)- and pair it with the Rao's Arrabiata sauce! Heaven! And cheaper and more delicious than ANY italian takeout delivery joint around. Ooh! And don't forget some Parmigiano Reggiano from Murray's Cheese Shop (yet another fab NY favorite vendor available through MaxD!)
Wonderful service. Friendly delivery guys (who find 6 flights of steep LES tenement stair no problemo). Amazing assortment. Start your order today.
OH and they deliver BOOZE and cigs now. YAY!
Dear Max,
Thank You for our time together. I will never forget your precise punctuality and your superb taste. You were there for me so many times saving my a**, like that time when I forgo to get wine and cheese for my party, or that other time when I had one hour to get ready and needed a birthday cake for my best friend (the cupcakes were even better than the cake and you even brought candles). And even when you made that mistake of bringing me a past due cheese, you brought me another one in 20 minutes and gave me credit. Oh your customer service...
Even though our one year relationship has ended I want you to know that it's all your fault!!! Yes you are to blame since you are the one that decided that you will not come to my new home.
I will never forgive you for doing this to me, unless you decide that you will indeed bring me goodies to my door again. It's up to you. FINE- I am dying for you to visit me! Let me know if you ever decided to include me and the UES in your life.
Till then, I hope the others are enjoying you as much as I did.
XOXO,
ME
They offer everything from booze and movies at a cheap price. Best of all, they deliver, and usually in under 30 minutes. Great place to buy stuff from on a late night, when you just feel like staying under the warm covers.
I forgot to mention that you can order DVDs to rent for $4.99 and return whenever you like. It's instant Netflix (you pay for the 'instant' factor)!
They've been a lot slower lately...probably getting lotsa business but I do feel like the magic of maxdelivery is the instant gratification aspect. Not the 2 hours later gratification...
oh well, you all stop using them so they get my movies to me faster damn it!

I'm not sure if they like me as much as I like them but one of my favorite things about NYC is that… Read more »
This is so clever! When I feel like a pack of cigarettes or need a bottle of windex or a roll of Bounty - these guys rock!
I've been using maxdelivery for a while, especially because of the good coupon code deals ($10 off $25) and they used to have free shipping...however, this is no longer. The stuff here is pretty expensive, but it's good if you have serious munch and don't feel like walking 300 feet to the bodega.
Why is it that they never have any sugar sweet sunshine left??? I love that banana mush stuff.
I can remember the days of the rise and fall of Kozmo and Urban Fetch... and their demise still brings tears to my eyes. But not since I found MaxDelivery!
This place breeds laziness on the greatest scale. I find myself using it more and more for the silliest stuff. But they are fast and consistent. They're stock is pretty amazing for a 1 hour delivery service and the delivery price is fantastic! Their site leaves a little to be desired, but I LOVE this place!
If you're as lazy as I am (especially on the weekends) and need last minute groceries, gifts, DVDs or drug store items, look no further than http://www.maxdelivery.... No, I'm not a sales person for them, but I do think it'd be safe to call me their number-one fan.
Initially, I remember reading an article where http://maxdelivery.com was mentioned. I was intrigued enough to jot down the name of the website and check it out for myself. And like the song goes, "just one look and I fell so hard...," I've become hooked.
What do I love so much about this site? In no particular order, here goes:
Guaranteed one-hour delivery on over 10,000 products
Pricing equal to or very competitive with your local bodega, grocery store, bakery, DVD rental store, etc.
Items from uber famous NY Specialty Shops including: Jacques Torres Chocolates, Murray's Cheese & Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery
Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery (I know I've already mentioned it, but it's just too good to be mentioned only once. We all know that I'm a cupcake fanatic!)
Wine shop
Cigarettes (hey, smoking ain't my thing, but it's certainly cool to know that if it is your thing, now you don't have to leave your apartment to buy a pack)
Volume discounts
Good variety of "Oh shit, I forgot!" gifts
Go ahead and see for yourselves, folks...guaranteed, you'll become obsessed too! http://www.maxdelivery...
Simply awesome. I had ordered some vapo-rub for my injury and also some ito-en unsweetened tea (12pack) since it comes cheaper than the deli ($1.80 vs $2). As a first time customer, I discovered a coupon code online (BIRTHDAY) which saved me $10 off my first order. Delivery was free and I was slated for the 5-6pm time slot. I put my order in at 4:45pm but realized that I had forgot to add an item I needed. I saw the 'chat live' option and clicked on it. D*n was very helpful and added the missing item to my order, at which time it was already 4:58pm. D*n confirmed that my order would still make it to me in time and sure enough it did! I did, however, notice a $1.50 fee (I'm assuming this was for the 'chat live' feature) but it's all good. I got my stuff in time and didn't have to move an inch! Definitely made me a believer when the delivery guy arrived at 5:36pm!
Note: When checking out, you have an option of choosing a reusable bag which you get to keep. Please opt for that (over plastic) to help save the environment!
Identities have been concealed to protect the innocent =)
Love this place, been a customer for over a year. discovered it by total accident when wanted to buy cigarettes and didn't want to go outside after 11 PM. yes they have cigarettes and they deliver. since then have been ordering everything from there, and just like everyone said, its the most prompt delivery service for under $3. strongly recommend,
if you are a first time customer, use this coupon code 3602F617 to get credit of $10 and free delivery.
enjoy
The scene: Audrey J. and her normally bionic immune system have been sick for the past three days. In a much-needed outing to retrieve her laundry earlier, it began to blizzard. Yes, blizzard. Upon returning to her apartment, her temperature was back up to 99.6 degrees, which, while not quite the 101 that it had been the day before, was still higher than the "normal" under-98.6 degree temperature she had clocked in (quite proudly) earlier that day. With that in mind, she feels a pang of hunger just now only to check her kitchen and take note of (1) no orange juice, (2) no bread-like food, (3) no fruits, and (4) no cereal. (Note: She has milk -- organic 1% milk, at that -- but no cereal. The injustice of it all!) Having learned her lesson about going out in the bitter cold during her recovery, she turns instead to http://MaxDelivery.com for answers...
10:26PM -- She places the aforementioned items into her "basket," along with Puffs tissues (WITH LOTION).
10:45PM -- As Amy Winehouse performs live from London, she updates her http://MaxDelivery.com page to see that delivery is estimated for 11:04PM. Excellent. Oh, and Amy Winehouse wins "Record of the Year." Jolly good.
11:04PM -- On the nose, her buzzer rings.
11:06PM -- She hauls her loot inside and promptly refrigerates that which needs to be refrigerated.
...................
Annnnnnd...
11:21PM -- She has eaten (1) a toasted whole grain Thomas's English muffin, (2) has opened the Puffs (WITH LOTION), and (3) is in the process of consuming "Lots of Pulp" Tropicana Grovestand orange juice.
11:30PM -- A big WTF to Herbie Hancock's (??) winning Album of the Year, but yeah...our protagonist Audrey J.? She's satisfied.
http://MaxDelivery.com, this could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship. In other words, y'all is GANGSTA.
P.S.: Minus one star for RIDICULOUS fresh produce prices. $7.99 for a 4.4 oz. tub of organic blueberries???? That stuff better be made of solid GOLD.
That being said...11:04PM delivery of much-needed sickroom items? Damn it feels good to be a (lazy) gangsta.
got me a broken leg.
i am stuck in my fourth floor walk up for 6-8 weeks.
maxdelivery... you are my hero...
groceries, wine, booze, drug store, movies, flowers/gifts and some of nyc specialties. all for a price that's comparable to what i'd spend at the local convenience store. and all available with the click of a button... and delivered to my door in less than an hour.
maxdelivery... i don't know where i'd be without you...
extra star for the delivery guy who insisted on bringing my many bags in and putting them on the counter for me upon seeing that i am on crutches.
http://MaxDelivery.com is my savior. My favorite order to date was placed at midnight on a Tuesday. It consisted of:
- a bottle of red wine
- a 6-pack of Sugar Sweet Sunshine cupcakes
- milk
- a Swifter Sweeper starter kit
It was delivered to my door in about 20 minutes. I converted to MaxDeliveryism that night, and I have been walking the righteous path ever since.
UPDATE: I had to downgrade MaxDelivery to 4 stars after three slow (about an hour) delivery times. Oh well. Guess I got lucky before.
This site clearly conjures up memories of urbanfetch and kozmo--those were the days! MaxDelivery however is currently playing primarily in Lower Manhattan.
I see that channel 1000 on Timewarner has an expanding selection of pay-per-view movies. But MaxDelivery complements movies with food--that couch potato staple.
One might wonder how they make the economics work. The Tribeca-based CTO of kozmo, who founded this site, claims that MaxDelivery will limit its assortment and not be "all things to all people".
We shall see. Good luck!
Oh, how I wanted to love you MaxDelivery. After two failed attempts for my order to go through, I worked with your online customer service. It still did not go through. I kept getting a message telling me "You have updated your order since starting check out. Please go through check out again".
The online "chat" customer service could not complete the order, so I gave up. They told me to register a whole new account.
The next day, I signed onto my bank account to find that MaxDelivery had charged my bank account 17 TIMES! For a total of over $1,000. For an order they could not complete.
Good luck finding a real person to talk to if anything goes wrong. They have assured me that I will be credited back in 48 hours (via the online chat representative). I am sorry, but for $1,000 of wrong charges, I would like to talk to a real person.
FOLLOW UP: They did reverse the charges as they said that they would. But it was all still so annoying, I won't use them again. Back to Fresh Direct.
change in stars: I caught the flu this weekend. This company is a life saver!
FAST! The prices aren't the cheapest, but you don't have to leave the house to get them. A real lifesaver on those busy days, or weeks.
I rented a couple movies and I lost one and got charged for it, so I'm an idiot, that's not their fault.
Amazing! I have told everyone about this site.
Love Jennifer's "faster than a hound in a fox hunt" - wish I had come up with that. I'll work on it.
Max Delivery is sent from the heavens. I can't tell you the number of times we've had late night cravings for Sugar Sweet Sunshine cupcakes and had them delivered by MD in what seems like a matter of minutes. They also have great cheese, milk, Special K Red Berries, wine, Gatorade, whatever.
The website is easy, they deliver when they say they will, they have good prices, and you can add the tip to your credit card purchase. Last night, there was a mix-up with delivery addresses since I was at my friend's near WTC - not near Union Sq where I live. Despite the mix-up, they were able to turn around and get the groceries back down to WTC 15 minutes after they realized what happened. Great customer service.
My friends from other cities are jealous - This is truly a Manhattan gem.
one of those cool "only in NYC" type of services. So glad that 1-hour delivery is back like it used to be a few years ago.
Last weekend, I was strapped because I was having folks over and forget to get wine. No problem. I went online and then just 15 minutes later, their guy is at my door with the wine, solo cups and other party supplies.
It's just a nice option in general when you don't feel like running around for groceries or that annoying Duane Reade run. Just get it delivered instead of having to lug things around.
Max delivery...where have you been all my life...they are so fast and I am feeling crappy today..I got my cold medicine in like 15 minutes....it was awesome!
Will definitely use again
Um-WTF!!??? I tried to order Grey Goose, half a dozen of cupcakes from Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery, and Jacques Torres Milk Chocolate Covered Cheerios to my office on a Friday, in Midtown, and after anxiously entering my cc #, I get this EXTREMELY disappointing message that they do not deliver to that area! BOOOOOOOOOOOO! Double :(
I will definitely give them another try when I order to my ghetto box (tiny ass apt. located in the ghetto) when I want to have a glutinous smorgas borge or do not want to go outside due to below CA degree weather :)
NOTE to http://MaxDelivery.com: PUUULLLLLEEEEZZZZ EXPAND YOUR DELIVERY SERVICE RANGE!!! People need their booze fix and sweet sugar high in the office/Midtown too!
i wish there was something like this for brooklyn. sadly nothing comes close. they deliver almost ANYTHING you can get at your c-town/duane reade/blockbuster with little to no delivery fees quickly and efficiently! (on bicycles!)
how it works:
it's 12 pm on any given night and you suddenly get a hankering for ice-cream/cereal/strawberry fruit roll ups/condoms (yes really) an order goes in to their magical warehouse on the north pole (tribeca) where magical elves pack everything in plastic or reuseable and then suddenly as if by magic (or flying reindeer?) a friendly bike messenger is ringing your doorbell. oh did i mention you can include the tip in your online checkout so cash is never necessary?
okay well to be honest, i dont know if they actually employ magical elves. but what does santa do the rest of the year?
yay to another reason why lower manhattan rocks... free transportation and now free delivery from some of my fav places like murray's and sugar sweet sunshine... remember tho u have to live in this area to use this service muhahaha....
so process:
1) go to website input order and pay attention to order window
2) wait but not too long... literally arrives at ur doorstep within 30 minutes... do not ask me how the fck they do it but it happens!!!
3) look out for free discounts especially when u first just sign up... got basically a dozen cupcakes and free ice cream for 10 bucks... niceeee
okies so more people need to discover this so that they can continue to do business!!!! and i hope they put in other well known vendors as well!!!
I LOVE maxdelivery! I have been a reliant maxdelivery customer since they started and I am paranoid that they will go out of business like urbanfetch and Kozmo. Don't leave your house the next time you have the flu. Do try renting DVDs from them too. If you have not tried them out yet, do so soon [you'll thank me]!
Ever get the flu or cold and feel like you're dying and can't leave the apartment but don't want to trek outside of the apartment to get cold medicine or food and wish there were some sort of guardian angel who would make everything better? http://MaxDelivery.com is totally my guardian angel. They've brought me NyQuil when I'm sick, Chocolate when I've had a bad day and Wine when I forgot I needed to bring something to my Aunt's house for one of the 8 million Jewish holidays.
And these guys are so damn fast. I believe my last delivery was clocked at 17 minutes. I love you, http://MaxDelivery.com.
Maxdelivery is a great service. If you need something quick and don't want to walk to the store, they are one of the fastest and most affordable online delivery places in New York.
A big plus with them for me is that they sell more than just food, they also have a full Drug store and DVD rental section on their site. Its like if FreshDirect, Duane Reade and Netflix had a baby.
Only con for me is that they only deliver in lower manhattan (below 25th street I think) but although I don't live in their range, I order from them to deliver to my office all the time.
Oh, the joys of New York City life - being able to get anything delivered, at anytime - day or night. I love Max Delivery - where else can you get wine, cheese, chocolate, artisan bread, toothpaste, deodorant and eggs delivered at the same time - usually in a hour or so.......... This service is AMAZING!
Came under 30 minutes
I ordered chocolate truffles, cabernet sorbert, brie, oj, milk, and whatever other grocery necessities I forgot to pick up on my rush home. (OK I was never "rushing" home - more like lounging around in pajamas not wanting to go out, but you get the picture.)
Only downside - I hear they run out of Sugar Sweet Sunshine sweets super fast. I ordered a Sugar Sweet brownie and it never came. The $2.50 was refunded but I was disappointed nonetheless.
Faster than a hound in a fox hunt. Cuter than a lady bugs ear. Max Delivery is my second husband. He (I haven't had a delivery lady yet) let's me communicate my needs clearly, he asks me to let him know when he doesn't have what I need and he delivers my desires in under an hour.
I'm in love.
3/2-updated-as of this week max is giving the option of using reusable bags with a $1.50 deposit. no more plastic bags! (unless you request them)
been ordering from these guys since they opened. a serious lifesaver every winter when i inevitably come down with the flu. or if i'm just feeling lazy. their selections of meats, cheeses, and alcohol have progressively expanded to meet customer need and i have to say, the prices are not unreasonable and in some cases are the same as duane reade or a bodega.
i've had a few issues with orders and products and they've always been addressed quickly and courteously which i enormously appreciate.
in addition their deliverymen are polite and non creepy.
no complaints, just praise. keep up the good work maxdelivery.
Awesome blossom!! Or something of that sort came to my mind, when as promised, they brought everything I needed for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's breakfast, at my doorstep within an hour for a very small deilvery fee.
Some of my staple needs are not carried by them like the senseo coffee pods or my particular flavor of soy milk or yogurt etc. So, they definitely do not have as wide a selection as fresh direct or your regular grocery store. But, none of those can beat it when you need your bottle of wine damn it! and you need it now!!
Wow. Really, seriously, WOW. I thought Seamless Web was great? Up until recently, Fresh Direct had high marks in my book, too. Well, they gots nuttin on Max Delivery. I was having people over to my house for a friend's bday bash and in typical style, had done NOTHING to get ready for it beforehand. I had less than 2 hours, it was also cold as balls outside so I didn't want to bundle myself up and waddle down the street to get all the goods at 3 different stops. Hello, Max Delivery! I ordered: 5 bottles of bubbly; cottage cheese; 5 mini pizzas; crackers; candles for the cake, dip and saline eye solution. It arrived in less than 15 minutes. Both my friend and I were STUNNED. When I forgot the mixers for the drinks. I hopped right back on my computer and clicked a few keys. 20 minutes later, same delivery dude with my mixers (we both had a chuckle). And I didn't think it was possible to get anymore lazy in NY? Well, it is. I LOVE MaxDelivery!
Sweet jumping jesus, I am so glad this exists. They have a delivery range that's just the lower part of Manhattan (below 26th street, I believe), and I am damn happy to be in that range. I've used this service mostly when I'm home sick and miserable. A few clicks, and I've got someone who will bring me medicine, tissues, orange juice, and chicken soup within the hour for a small fee. They also carry Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery brownies and cookies, which is a huge bonus! Awesome if you're feeling sick or just feeling lazy.
Wow. I tried this based on the reviews on Yelp after all the movie rental places have gone out of business in my neighborhood. And I have to say, this is the best of both worlds (Fresh Direct + Netflix).
The grocery selection is adequate but not vast. But the DVD selection is great. I couldn't believe how fast they came to my door that I was compelled to give a little tip even though we don't have to.
Thanks Yelpers for this gem!!
Genius. Freakin' genius.
Sometimes at 10pm on a Tuesday I need a bottle of Grey Goose, trash bags, M&Ms, a roll of paper towels, a movie, and some pizza rolls. And I need it within the hour. And it's pouring rain, so I don't feel like moving to go get it.
Thank god and those individuals responsible for http://maxdelivery.com.
I'm obsessed! My orders have always gotten here within 30 minutes of ordering. Delivery fee is only 2.95 (free if over $75), you can add a tip to the credit card bill (no more scrambling around last minute for a few extra bucks to give), and the delivery guys have all been so nice! It's so much quicker than if i decided to bundle up, walk to the store, lumber up and down the aisles with my shopping basket, line up, pay, and walk back. And you can have your alcohol delivered, too? Rad!
Max Delivery is pretty cool. I used to live half a block from their headquarters, so I could go online, place an order and it would be there in half an hour. How awesome is that? And also, they offer a very wide variety of products. I wish I could still order from them, but then again, maybe it's a good thing I'm not closer!
This place is amazing. And I will miss it a lot if I ever leave the city. Once I developed a cold in the middle of the night, Max Delivery was there in 10 minutes with NyQuil. Some of the items are a little pricey, but you're paying for convenience.
I had the flu and could barely move. All I wanted in the world was Lime flavored Hint water and miraculously enough they had it. I ordered and it said my order would arrive at 6:47. I laughed at the optimistic pinpoint accuracy of the arrival time and tried not to fall asleep on the kitchen floor from cough syrup stupor in the meantime. Then my sweet sweet Hint waters arrived...at 6:47. Eeeerie. Maxdelivery is officially my new favorite delivery thing.
