Special on oysters during happy hour! We've been coming here every other week after work for the happy hour  (4-6pm and 9-close)... mainly for the oysters!

Under $1 each for freshly schucked oysters and discounted appetizers with a draft beer or house wine... it's a pretty good deal! Other than oysters, my favorite is the crab and artichoke dip but my friends seem to like the clams most.

it's a convenient and laid back for after work, especially if you work nearby on the east side (and not in bellevue).

The chicken nachos are amazing and are cheap during happy hour but that's about it.

The regular restaurant menu is overpriced, and I haven't experienced anything amazing yet.

I admit, I had my reservations going to an oyster bar on the east side, but what I got in return left me completely satisfied.

For an appetizer, I tried mixed grill skewers, which were flavorful, especially the prawns. They came with a sauce that tasted similar to Jamaican jerk. For an entrée I had oyster sampler, with 5 kinds of oysters on the plate, served with amazing berry-champagne vinegar and shaved horseradish on the side. Really really really good.

A side note on the service: I was there as a part of a pretty large group, and the service was impeccable.

I love their fish n chips. I usually order this when I go. I have also had the chicken rotisserie salad minus the raisons. Really good and rather big for lunch so order the smaller one. They usually have great specials usually a fish. I like to go for lunch with friends. Good wine list and the oysters are very impressive.

Plenty of parking and on the 2nd floor around back at Redmond Town Center. The halibut with sherry mushroom sauce and Yukon Gold mashers was excellent (on the daily specials menu). My coworker had a the prime rib dip which was sliced thin - the way I like it. Great place for the guys - they'll appreciate the female staff's attire. Atmosphere is sophisticated.

Sometimes I have to go back to a place a few times to decide how to rate it. I wish I had stopped at one visit at Matt's because it just kept getting worse!!

Went there for lunch a week ago Friday with a couple of coworkers. I work next to RTC, so it was a sunny Friday and we needed a break from the work cafe. Not very crowded, but the outside didn't seem to be open so we went inside. Lunch was a disaster! I had a club sandwich that had dried out cheese and stale bread - come on how basic is a club sandwich? One of my coworkers had a chicken salad that literally had "1" piece of chicken. Not deserving of the chicken salad title. Service was pretty pathetic, with a waitress who was obviously stuck at her job because of the economy and had no where else to go (she was obviously not loving it!). We didn't make a fuss, paid the bill, tipped a little on the lower side, and left.

I intended to scratch that one off the list, but we had a celebratory lunch there again this Friday with a group of 9. Manager's choice, so figured I would just try something else and hope the wait staff was having a better day! So, I am obviously not a fortune teller!!

Sat down outside and ordered drinks (soda, water, tea). We also placed an order for an appetizer and then we waited. We waited some more and finally the appetizer came. Obviously the drink order was overwhelming because they came about 5-10 minutes after the appetizer.

I ordered soup of the day and a small salad. When the soup came it was basically some water with a few onions tossed in and small piece of bread on top. No flavor at all. Salad was "OK", but the chicken was pretty bland.

I know larger groups are hard to handle, but the service was really pretty slow and overall the food was not a winner. One highlight - we shared dessert which was a hot chocolate cake (yummy) and a raspberry cobbler I think (sorry - was absorbed in the cup of chocolate so didn't pay much attention).

Have to say this will be my last foray to Matt's. Would love to love ya, since you are close and convenient, but not willing to spend even more money on a loser!

I like the happy hour there. The Mojitos are nice and together with the oysters, it's the perfect 'after-work-unwind-pre-dinner-appetizer'. At 75cents an oyster, it's a steal!

Can we say 1/2 price wine bottle night?  Well apparently we got in on a good thing on Sunday when we stumbled across Matts at Redmond Towne Center.

That and apple wood grilled prime rib dinner of which included salad and desert?  Normally I avoid such a thing but after seeing it on other's plates, I could tell that Matt's did this meal with justice and only lean pieces of meat so I took the bait and am glad I did!  We chose a great bottle of Dunham Cellars 2005 Cabernet to go with and had an amazing dinner after a very draining day.

The salads we started with; mine was spinach and was dressed with an amazing balance of vinegrate, mushrooms, bacon and eggs, my husband had the house and loved the dressing and fine greens.  Our prime rib was cooked to medium perfection, was tender and when complimented with the spicy horseradish and aus jus left our mouths craving more!  The Yukon Gold Mashers were buttery and delicious and the aspargus was crisp and perfectly cooked.

The hubster ended his meal with the lemon cheesecake of which was delectable however he wished for more lemon in the cake.  I had the hot chocolate of which was a decadent 3 chocolate twist to include a dark chocolate souffle with a milk chocolate filling complimented with white chocolate ice cream that came in a coffee cup and was complimented with a cookie straw.  The presentation was darling and I was able to savor it with a final glass of that smooth Dunham Cabernet!  I was proud of myself for making it last considering how delicate and smooth a wine it was, an easy drink for sure!

Lastly, I just have to compliment the service here.  They were attentive without being obnoxious.  We arrived in some pretty grubby attire after such a long day and in spite of this we were warmly welcomed and seated and by no means did our service lack as a result.  Even though this restaurant is located within a mall, once inside it does come across as a more fine dining establishment so we were clearly underdressed.

As if this dinner experience wasn't already a perfect surprise to end our day, we had an even more perfect ending when our server, after hearing about our dog, came out with a doggy bag to include a wonderful bone filled with marrow for our sweet boy who was patiently waiting in the car!

I've been here a few times, mostly to enjoy the oysters and it never disappoints!

I stopped by here on Friday night with a new friend for some appetizers and a drink before heading over to "The Big Picture", which I recommend trying out if you have not done so.

We started off with a drink each and ordered some fresh raw oysters to start. I asked our waiter about the different kinds that they had on the menu and he was quite knowledgeable, or at least he sounded like it, I'm no oyster aficionado but I do enjoy them immensely! We decided on the Penn Cove oysters from Whidbey Island in BC, and they were delicious. A little smaller than I was expecting, but delicious none the less. We also ordered an appetizer, the Hot Dungeness Crab and Artichoke dip. The dip was awesome and a perfect compliment to the fresh oysters.

The service here is always pretty good and tonight was no exception. We were on our way to the Big Picture to see a show, as I previously stated, so we were in a bit of a rush and our waiter was quick and attentive, which was greatly appreciated.

My only beef with this oyster bar is that the prices are a bit steep, $12 something for a half dozen fresh oysters or $24 something for a dozen. I know it's the Redmond Town Center, but that still seems steep.

I have to say that this was one of those places where you say well I have not ever eaten there before so I might as well give it a try meanwhile just hoping it does not completely suck and feel like a waste of money.

It was a wonderful find and a place that I will try my best to visit more often. The food was really great- got a steak and it wasn't the best I have ever had but it was better than you usually get anymore.

Thinking about it makes me think, this weekend could be a good time to go again.

Go check it out for yourself, its worth a chance.

I stopped in for a quick lunch today because it looks like a nice restaurant from outside.  And once you get inside, it really is a nice restaurant with a classic, somewhat modern, decor.  I decided to have the tacos with rotisserie chicken.  To my surprise, they were some of the best tacos I've had.  The corn tortillas were surprisingly amazing.  They were thin and had a great crunchy yet tender texture; I believe they were homemade due to the rustic shape.  The chicken was juicy and well seasoned atop a great cole slaw that was tangy, well seasoned, and contained just enough mayo so that it was still light and crunchy.  I will definitely be back to try more from their great all-American menu.

Fish tacos (one salmon, one halibut) were both disappointing.  The corn tortillas were extremely chewy, the sauces were spicy but not flavorful, and everything was "lumpy" (I had to break apart fish and spread sauces myself to avoid each bite being all sauce, all fish, or nothing at all).

The patio is nice, and the service was friendly and attentive.

OMG this is my favorite place to eat! Their servers are some of the hottest I've ever seen!!! Do they only hire models? I love their entire menu, from the Oysters to the KILLER BURGER. I'm always so impressed with the service I get there, my favorite is by far JD, he's so rugged and sexy, I want to take him on a vacation with me! Not to mention his oyster shucking skills are second to none, if he was an action hero his name would be Shuck Norris.

I wish I could eat here every day for every meal, I LOVE MATTS!!!!!!!!!!

This was my place of choice when I lived in Redmond. I have tried several different menu items and they have all been fairly good. Service has been very good every time I have gone.

The nachos are EXCELLENT and massive. Comes with rotisserie chicken which is quite tasty. I have also had good experiences with the Applewood Chicken Sandwich and  Meatloaf (very good flavor).

Be advised lunch menu is condensed, suggest dinner here.

When I came to Matt's for the first time I felt like it might end up making a chain restaurant sort of impression on me due to the location in a mall. This place is much better than that though.

All of the food that I've tried has been good but I would suggest anything chicken on the menu as they roast them in the back and they are very tasty. Good value for the price. Service has also been good apart from one overly-attentive (almost annoying) server, but I'd take that over inattentive any day!

If you are in the area I would suggest giving Matt's a try.

Not to take away very good vendors mojo in Seattle (and there are a few), but now that I've had the best oysters on the eastside at Matt's, it will be difficult to head westbound for these little bi-valves. Chilled, delicious, and impressively presented with all its nectar intact, I'm sold.

Our server Andrew has a genuine interest in shellfish and knowledge not found with every young front of house maverick just starting out in this career, and is an asset to the restaurant.  Matt and Chris, put this kid in your wine program too!

I've had about 5 or 6 great experiences here and only 1 that  was negative...so I give this place 4 stars.

Every time I've come here, the food has been excellent! I always get some type of salmon when I come. My favorite was a daily special that was miso glazed salmon over jasmine rice with asparagus. Excellent! I had a great bloody mary and the service was great!

One time I came and the service was extremely slow...we were kind of hidden in the back of the restaurant and were seated at the same time as a a huge party in this guy's section. The poor guy was triple seated (having worked in a restaurant, I know this sucks) but it still sucked because it seemed like there were 5 or 6 other servers just hanging around with nothing to do. The salmon that I had this day was just dry and tasteless. I guess kind of an off day for Matt's.

All in all though, a great little place! Definitely recommend it!

No, no, not Matt's IN THE MARKET, Matt's IN REDMOND TOWN CENTER.

Pretty good for Redmond, really!  I'm spoiled with all the great choices in Seattle, and when I go to Redmond to see my mom and dad, this is where we frequently eat.  If it was in Seattle, it'd be three stars, but for Redmond it's four.

Their oysters are spendy (about $20/dozen) but when they have Olympus on the menu, get 'em (they're $24/dozen).  Tiny and delish!  The sole was really good (especially for $16), it was a huge portion of double stacked parmesan-crusted fillets.  Matt's has a seafood-paella-for-two that is full of prawns, clams, and sausage for $26.95, a good option if you want to bring the cost of your dinner for two down.

Service has always been great at Matt's - we had an especially good server last Sunday (sorry, doll, I forget your name or I'd give you a shout out!), and the bartender was good other than his probably-management-mandated-short pours.

And that's my problem with Matt's - for me it's a biggie - the bartending.  The short pour just kills me.  If you order scotch or similar, be prepared for one finger instead of two, and your wine by the glass will be 4 oz for 9 bucks.  Definitely get a bottle, their bottle prices aren't bad at all.  Why is drinking so tough on the Eastside?

The women's bathroom is atrocious.  It looks like Betsey Johnson threw up in there.

The food here was just ok, a little over priced but that's to be expected from a place like Redmond Town Center. The reason I gave this restaurant such a low rating is our waiter was rude and his level of service was very low. I had to ask for water three times and we waited for over 10 minutes for our bill while he was talking with other waiters in the restaurant. I'm not likely to go back.

Lunch with several co-workers and lots of oysters. LOTS of oysters. They were, indeed, the highlight of our outing!

It didn't seem crushingly busy, despite the place being fairly full. And yet, it took forever for any of the food to arrive. Our entrees came to the table just minutes after the oysters (as an appetizer) arrived, so there we were all shuffling food around to make room for the main course.

The creme brulee was okay, although I think the best part about it was the cookie and the "surprise" little chocolate filling.

I'd go back again, but probably just for oysters.

I have been here twice and was not really impressed by the food.  It seems like a dressed up Applebee's.  The sandwiches are mediocre.  I had a salmon burger and it was a filet of salmon on a cheap, white hamburger bun.  The salmon sogged through the bread so I was left with soggy mess.  The appetizers were okay -- again, not too impressive.

Save your money for elsewhere...

I'm not much of a mall rat but the smart money was on Matt's for a pre-theater meal at Second Story Repertory, located (on the second story) at Town Center Mall in Redmond. Given the shopping holidays the parking lot was packed but we had no trouble finding a spot in the covered garage.

Three beautiful young hostesses elected one among themselves to seat us in the back by a window, although the parking-lot view is nothing to fight over. We started with a mix of fresh kumamoto and kusshi oysters, served with ramekins of  vinaigrette and cocktail sauce with shredded horseradish. The reasonably priced wine list was brief but punchy and we ordered the 2002 BV George Latour, which drank beautifully with the entrees. I had perfectly cooked king salmon, served with root vegetables and wild rice. (I ordered the beurre blanc on the side since salmon is perfect as is.) Friendly, efficient service got us out in time for the show.

Although the food is excellent, Matt's feels more like a family restaurant than a romantic getaway, but it's really all about the food, isn't it?

My date was longing for oysters and although I'm not a fan, there wasn't a problem in finding something delectable for eat.

Walking in, I was afraid we would need a ressi but after our hostess took us around the restaurant, where for a split second it seemed that she wanted to seat us in the hallway to the restrooms, she finally found a table. Seemed odd to me that she didn't go check out the dining room without us, but whatevah.

We got a bit sidetracked by the fact that my date stopped and said hi to some friends he saw. I swear, it seems he knows half Redmond.

After we sat down, I asked the waitress if there was a special martini she recommended..2 mins later I was in martini heaven sipping what they call a Moulin Rouge. One word: chambord!!!!!

After trying to decide which of the many yummy appetizers to share, we opted for the fried calamari, house salad which followed by some assorted oysters and Grilled scallops and prawns for myself. The scallops, if not devoured by table mate, melted in my mouth. Not sure if my date liked me so much that he willingly ate off my fork or if the scallop was so good. He got two bites..I wanted the rest. :P

We passed on desert and finished our drinks and headed to a quieter establishment as this was not the ideal place for chit-chatting on the down low.

My favorite oyster bar this side of anywhere!  I've been known to slurp down  a doz kushis or kumamotos in one evening.  Friendly staff, bartenders are energetic and the oyster servers are great - knowlegeable and quick.

The menu has good range and choice.  Every taste has an opportunity to find something appealing and the apple wood smoked dishes equal tasty and unique.

All in all, good atmosphere good value for the dollar except one thing:  SHORT pours in the bar on drinks and wine by the glass.  Stop it! Stop it!  Word is getting out - can be fatal.

It's a solid standby for us East Siders.  The prices are a bit on the high side, so you have to be selective.  Their salmon filet sandwich sports a good, large piece of fish on a tender bun, for a reasonable price.  And they are one of the rare restaurants here in the Pacific NW that serve pretty decent Buffalo wings.  (I just wish it had a bit more of the spicy!)  And like other fellow Yelpers here, I found their calamari quite tender and delicious.

They have outdoor seating, which is nice on a warm day, even though you're in a mall.  Finally, the wait staff is no non-sense, but helpful -- just the way I like it.

I have been here for lunch several times and stopped by for happy hour tonight. I usually get the rotisserie chicken at lunch which I would recommend.

The happy hour deal is not bad, half off appetizers..plus a dollar? We ordered the mixed grill skewers (yum) and chicken nachos. Unfortunately the chicken nachos were greasy and dry at the same time.  I think maybe they overheated the nachos in the oven? The tortilla chips were close to brown and too greasy.

I did see some other dishes that I will go back and try such as the ahi tuna on their appetizer list.  The staff is friendly and that always makes an average dinner a little bit better.

I live near Redmond Town Center, so Matt's is an easy place to go when we're feeling lazy and Bellevue feels just SO far away. Servers are friendly, though some get distracted during a dinner rush; if you need your drink refilled three times during dinner, go early or at lunch. The wine selection is good, with some local Northwest options.

I've never had to wait to be seated, even when the place is hopping with groups and the bar is entirely full. They have nice patio seating that gets closed off around October.

My boyfriend doesn't care for seafood (go figure), so it's  a reasonable testament to our relationship that he'll take me to the "Oyster Lounge" on a regular basis. When I get the calamari appetizer, I have to eat most of it myself. Still, it's good enough that I don't mind, with a nice tartar sauce dip and lemon.

He gets the meatloaf, which is pretty and reasonably portioned, or the rotisserie chicken, which is herb-rubbed and tasty. I've had their fish and chips and some local specials (usually salmon or halibut). Oh, and the pan seared and parmesan/asiago-crusted sole. Everything's always been properly tender and fresh, never dry or overcooked. Many dishes are served with local vegetables, including some of the biggest asparagus I've ever seen. Next on my list of things to try is their paella, which looked lovely when presented to other diners.

Matt's would get five stars if there was anything on their menu that I craved, but there isn't, besides that generic lust for seafood.

And secretly, my favorite thing about this place is their Famous Hot Chocolate. It's a coffee mug with a rich, soft chocolate souffle and melted milk chocolate baked into the bottom and filled the rest of the way with ice cream. This could kill you.

I ate here with my coworkers for lunch one day.  While there was nothing in particular that stood out and being really good or really bad, the experience was generally positive.  The service was prompt and courteous. The prices were reasonable, and the food all tasted good.

I will say that the calamari appetizer was exceptionally tender.  They did a good job of cooking it properly without making it rubbery.

Since it's in a big strip mall, you have to park in a big lot nearby.  The closest lots are on the south side of the mall.  Matt's is on the second floor.  Beware that the parking lots are generally full, even on weekdays.

I am a repeat customer to this place ever since my wife and I discovered it a few years ago.  I've eaten the regular dinner here and it was so so.  That's not what keeps me coming back.

I come here mainly for the rotisserie chicken nachos.  These are by far my most favorite gourmet nachos.  The chicken is pulled and served with melted cheese & scallions.  It's frickin' awesome.  Happy hour price is half off plus a dollar.  Geez, my mouth is watering so much from writing this review I had better stop before I get my keyboard all slobbered up.

I've only been here once before but first impressions do count, and this one's on my Good List so far.  I had kumamoto oysters and the prawns and scallops with Thai red curry. Both dishes were very good. Nicely presented and surprisingly good Thai red curry for a non-Asian restaurant. To top it off and end the night, we had their yummy Matt's hot chocolate dessert. The service (our waitress at least) was great - friendly, knowledgeable, and unintrusive. A little bit pricey, more than $50 for dinner for two but we left full and happy.  Can't wait to try out the rest of the food on their menu! :)

The wife and I had dinner here last December before we took our daughter and newborn son to see Santa at Redmond Town Center.  The atmosphere here is lively and a bit loud, and the place was very busy, but we were seated in about 15 minutes (on a Tuesday night).  The service was good, the food was excellent - I recommend both the seafood chowder and the salt n pepper rotisserie chicken - I told my wife she must learn to cook chicken like that - out of this world, especially for the price.

The kids were accomodated very well, but this would be an equally good place to leave the kids at a babysitter and have a romantic evening with just the two of us.  We will definitely be back.

matt was trying to get me drunk.  that's right. they had to be with $5 drink specials for ladies on saturday, what do you think?  and their drinks are delicious.  i don't remember the name of it (because i had so many) but it had grapefruit in it and it was a martini.  that was the best one.  also , their raspberry pina colada and pomegranate martini deserves honorable mention.  plus, Aaron, the bartender, was named becca's favorte bartender of the month.  watch how he pours your drink and you'll understand why.  ladies, come here on saturday, men, come here on saturday.  it's worth the drive here and a cab ride home.

They have a great happy hour with half off appetizers and good oysters. My favorite thing about Matt's is that I can bring my young daughter there too and she enjoys it. Without Matt's she would try to drag me to Red Robin. Now everyone can be happy.

Consistant - food and service. Good drinks selection. Average service. Menu changes and specials are good.

I have been to Matt's several times and have to say I wasn't overly impressed with their food or service any of the times. It is a nice place to go with a group of people as you can be a little loud and it's okay but, like I said, the food isn't anything special which is the main reason that I go to restaurants :)

They didn't have the bottle of wine we ordered (apparently they got the wrong shipment!), then when I ordered prime rib it was just okay.  9oz for 20.00 isn't bad but i expected it to taste better.  The atmosphere is classy but the food and service is just like any family restaurant.

Visited for the first time and overall, it was not worth the money spent there. It was just overall "ok" but for a final bill of well over $120, I expect faboo.  The food tasted just ok. Don't bother ordering a virgin daquiri because you will get somewhat bitter flavored ice with some color added.
