I'm more comfortable reviewing restaurants than doctors, but Dr. Matter (pronounced "motter") is super.  In spite of a childhood spent mostly indoors, I've managed to have the misfortune of getting a few small bits of skin cancer.  Yuck.  They were all found & removed prior to my discovery of Dr. Matter, but she's now the doc that I go to once or twice a year for a thorough check to make sure anything else that crops-up is dealt with ASAP.

She's found a couple of questionable spots, and unlike a prior doctor (who shall remain nameless!) she has erred on the side of caution, choosing to biopsy the sites instead of just dismissing it as "nothing."  (Which is what my prior doc did with a spot that had been on my shoulder for a few years...guess what...it's a darned good thing I didn't ignore it any longer than I did!)  NOTE: I have not posted a review for that previous doctor, nor will I do so in the future.  Any other doctor review that I post will have nothing to do with that event.

Thorough, friendly, discusses what she sees, explains why she recommends the course of action that she chooses, and is more than willing to talk about alternatives...that's why I've given Dr. Matter a 5-star rating.

By the way: Just because I see her for dealing with issues related to skin cancer, don't assume that's all she does.  She does all the general dermatology stuff too, but since that's not why I see her, I can't comment on her skills in that regard.
