I absolutely love this place! The exterior is extremely adorable and it makes me feel like I'm going back to the earth haha...which you actually are when you eat here!
I took my ex here, and he was all freaked out. He almost refused to eat there. Needless to say, we've since broken up because of his close-mindedness.

Anyway, I love how healthy everything is. I'm a health nut and this place always serves up great organic health food.

I can't wait to move back to CSprings and I am able to eat there more often!

I've had drinks from The Mate Factor on several occasions.  They're always delicious!  I would recommend the iced chai mate and there is also this peach mate I had once that was really good.

The food here is OK.  I haven't eaten much here, but it's expensive for what you get.  At any rate, the drinks here are yummy and mate is an excellent substitute for caffeine!  I'm sure I'll be back again.

Very cute hut design within the cafe.  Not much seating, so it can get busy.  Food is fairly simply and there aren't too many options.  Full cafe drinks list though.  Fair enough place to grab a coffee and head on out.

I'm underwhelmed by what should be a 5 star joint. First, its a yerba place which is cool. Second, it's owned by members of a legitimate cult. Third, it's right on the creek in Manitou which should give it some special powers or something. But this place is just...meh, like my 2 star rating says. The service is slow because everyone is trying to seem really cool in order to invite you to some "special events" at their house later, where you will meet some "cool people" and "just hang out" READ: become inducted into their dancing cult circle and never leave. Also, the tea is just whatever. For a place that has Mate in its name I would think the tea would be better. I tried a pastry once and it was so stale I gave it back and demanded a refund (they didn't like that). Also after dark this place is crawling with high school hipsters from the Springs, and that's not really my scene.

If I ever visit my friend at CC again I suppose I will go since there is nothing else to do in C. Sprangs, but I would never miss the place. MEH.

I like this place. I just wish I liked mate. It was DUMPING down rain when we made a run for the door. Unfortunately a few other people had the same idea, and it was standing room only in the place. Not crowded, exactly, but there was noplace for us to sit. They have maybe five booths to sit at. The booths are very funky wood and leather and are really neat-the previous reviewer got it right when they described it as "hobbit-like". We eventually got seats and were able to sit for about 30 minutes and chat over dark-brewed mate and lime mate. I didn't take away any stars because I dislike mate, that's just my taste. I took one because it was SUPER small and one because the cookie (vegan carob chip) was just ok, not great. I may go back to the Mate Factor but I wouldn't count on it, but mostly because I don't like mate.  I wish we hadn't eaten prior to going because the Deli Rose sandwich sounded AWESOME. Maybe that would have given them back a star.
I just wish it was bigger.

I love these guys!

Most people say it's run by a cult which has a negative undertone.  These good people are about as harmful as a bunch of mythical creatures.  They're basically jews who beleive that Jesus is the savior. They do all live together and work together.  AND, by golly, they make the best damned sandwichs you ever had.  All ingredients are natural and even the dishware are all biodegradeable, made from corn!  Yea, they dress funny but this is Manitou, people!

It's open 24 hours a day except for the Sabbath so bring your favorite religious text for a great conversation at 3 in the morning.

This one is hard to review for me. It is not my type of food. Everything natural and healthy. I probably would never go there on my own. But my family LOVES it. Every time my kids come home from overseas we all go. What I can tell you is that according to them, the food is great. Everything is made from scratch. It is ran by a local religious sect, so they are closed during the sabbath.

SO manitou! which is great! I think its owned by a cult, which gives it more character, and the inside looks like a hobbit hut or something from lord of the rings. The food is great, and made with all organic ingredients. Try the carob chip cookie, its delicious. Mate is also great, but defiantly an acquired taste.

The Mate Factor Cafe is like no other cafe I have been to..ever.

Now what makes this so is several reasons:

1: They serve a killer mate, as well as regular coffee drinks and mate-coffee fusions (recommended)
2: The ambiance is one of intimate booths of old wood and low yellow lighting, which gives this place a sort of cozy cabin feel
3: The people that run this place are religious nuts: i.e. they think they are part of one of the lost 12 tribes of Israel

Yeah....but anyway, they don't really talk about that unless you ask them, and since this is a killer cafe in a prime spot in Mantiou, definitely check these guys out.

Oh, and they no longer are closed on the Sabbath, which means drinks and what not on Saturday night as well. Woot

Good salads, made by weird, religious hippy chics. Passable coffee. Interior polluted with religious nut-cakery - but get your coffee to go (and go to the nice park in Manitou right across the pedestrian bridge).

They supposedly have good mate, if you can stand the horrible concoction - which tastes like a cross between horse piss and grass clippings. My hair is too short to enjoy this drink.

This wonderfully quaint little coffee shop is a wonderful place to spend time conversating with friends. I found the people that run this business to be very kind and the energy of the place very calming and comfortable.  I enjoy this little cabin like eatery and recommend it to others often.

A friend of mine had given me a good review of this place so when I finally went I had high expectations that were all met. It's not just a tea cafe but they serve infused drinks, coffee, baked goods etc. It's a super cozy environment, only semi complaint I have is that there's not much room to move around. We had taken our order to go however so it wasn't a problem. The interior was super cute, darker walls, booths. I ordered a lemon mate which was a cold drink, and it was SO GOOD. I was in heaven sipping away at this thing even though it was chilly outside to begin with from the rain. I had a bit later tasted my friends normal hot mate which he had dressed up with sugar and cream and SWEET GOD that was delicious. I have to say I wasn't exactly expecting the drinks to be THAT good. So yes, many opposable thumbs up for Mate Factor.
