Matamoros Restaurant
1 review for Matamoros Restaurant
I thought the food here was so-so. I'm used to having real Mexican food (I moved here from San Diego, CA three months ago), and thought the food here was okay.
The rice is definitely different from what I'm used to eating, but was edible. My boyfriend order the carne asada, which came with flour tortillas, guac, pico de gallo, rice, and beans. The carne asada was juicy, and the guac was rather good. I had the carne asada marinated with grilled onions and french fries (was the closest thing to a CA burrito I could get here), which came with a side of rice only. The carne asada was juicy, but the fries were really soggy.
We washed our food down with a 1/2 pitcher of sangria, which was okay too. Tasted like it had some tequilla in it, but I could be wrong.
The service was good, and our waitress was very attentive (but there was only another group eating in the restaurant at the time).
If I could, I would give this place 2.5 stars. I don't think I'd be going here again though.
