1 review for Masterson Lisa MD
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I went to Lisa Masterson because I did a simple search on my insurance provider's website and saw that she had good credentials and affiliations with great hospitals. I wish I'd done more research on her, and I would have avoided her like the plague.
I waited over an hour for my first appointment with Dr Masterson, which she rushed through. Nobody ever apologized for the wait. But I give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
A month later, after going to the ER, I found out I had a large cyst on my ovary that had to be removed. The ER told me to see my GYN immediately. When I called to make an appointment, her nurse said she doesn't work on Wednesdays and they couldn't help me. The nurse told me I should find another doctor if I had an emergency!! However, Dr. Masterson must have told them to fit me in, because they called me back and said she should see me ASAP.
At the appointment, Dr. Masterson could not have been more cold as she told me I could have cancer (this was the first I had heard of that possibility!). She spent not even 5 minutes with me and left - she couldn't be bothered to give me more information or let it sink in so I could ask proper questions. Her office never called me to tell me the results of the tests they'd run - I had to call repeatedly day after day, only to be told they had received the results a few days ago and had no reason for not calling someone who was awaiting results of a test that could indicate cancer.
Despite coldly telling me I might have cancer, Dr. Masterson never called to follow up with me or tell me about next steps (although she had told me I needed surgery (that she would perform) "immediately" to remove the cyst). She never returned my calls, and when I had a problem arise from the cyst, I called her answering service on a Saturday morning to ask her about it. She got angry with me for interrupting her Saturday and told her I was overreacting. I decided then and there to not see her again.
I was seen by one of the top oncologists in the country, and I did, in fact, have a tumor. When I told the oncologist about Dr. Masterson's refusal to return my calls, and the fact that she got angry with that Saturday call, my doctor was floored. Dr. Masterson's "treatment" of me was appalling. I never called Dr. Masterson to tell her that she was no longer my doctor, and her office did not call me until almost a month after she had initially seen me - after another doctor had performed my surgery. They of course feigned interest and said they needed to schedule my surgery as soon as possible. When I told them I already had the surgery and was not returning to Dr. Masterson again, they could not have cared less.
Please don't waste your time seeing this woman. Her staff is rude, and she is worse - bordering on negligent. Run, run, run away.
