The sweetie took her boots here to get them fixed. All they really did was put a piece of hard plastic on the heel and blend it in. However I am no cobbler so we felt this was the best decision for her boots. $12, and they'd be done in 3 hours. Cool with me since her boots cost over $100. Probably be back when my ankle boots start wearing and tearing.

Service here was good, the lady at the front even shared a few laughs with us. Only downfall is the location, I'd suggest parking and walking versus the back where if you drive a big car you'll most likely scratch it either going down the alley, hitting an exiting car or while making a three point turn.

This place is great. My girlfriends and I always take our heels and boots here to get the heels replaced when they've worn down.

The other day I turned in one of my black boots because the tip of the heel had magically fallen off! Must have been from too much dancing! ;) They replaced the one heel for $9. Now my "boots are made for walkin"'!!!

Not sure about the rest of the prices for their services but I'm sure they are more than practical.  The service is fairly fast and it took them only a few days to finish my boot.

It's always strange when you realize that a service you need of the world isn't exactly present anymore because in today's society, it's more replace than repair. However, I had the world's most comfortable work shoes from Banana Republic and when the heel wore down I was devastated! It's hard to find work shoes that are good looking and comfortable since heels are usually inversely proportional to comfort.

I dropped off my shoes very late in the evening and was able to pick it up the next day at noon! Despite it being a relatively easy job they were very friendly and very fast. I just found out from Neety's review that they clean bags! OH MY! I am definitely going back ASAP!

Master Cobbler has fallen victim to the "Yelp Effect." OR should I say I have fallen victim It?

Let me explain. Mom & Pop Store, X, has low traffic but enough to survive. Along the way, a Yelper uses X's services/product s. X would, at first, produce excellent services/products. Yelper then positively yelp about it creating more traffic for X.

X still makes an effort to churn out good to great services/products with the increased traffic. Then when X gets TOO popular, the products/services quality diminishes. Followed by X acts of snooty-ness and we-don't-need-your- business-because-we-have-two-more-people-who will-take-your-place-thanks to-yelp-suckas!

It is a vicious cycle that is affecting numerous yelpers. These types of vendors should be exposed.

Back to my review of Master Cobbler:

I really wanted to be happy with their service. In fact, I had shoes, belts and anything that they might able to repair lined up if they did a great job.

It has been a few months since I received their services. I am not satisfied. Far from it.

I brought in a Gucci bag to be cleaned and touched up and a Dior bag to be spot cleaned.

Had to bring back the Gucci because they missed painting so many areas.  Even now, there are spots that needed to be filled in. Not only that, they said they were going to clean my bag. When I check it, the inside handles were still stained with soda. (Yes, I spilled soda on the handle.) I had to wiped off the stain myself when I got home. That made me wonder if the even cleaned my bag. If not, why am I paying for a cleaning? The were suppose to sew  a lining. I checked and they didn't. Now the paint is peeling off the handles after a few month. I rarely use it and I keep it in its dust bag when not in use.

As for the Dior bag, I wanted some spot cleaning. They told me that it may not come off but I would still have to pay for it regardless of the outcome. Because it was a gift bought by my guy for our first anniversary, I reluctantly agreed. Knowing this, I am not upset about the bag looking the same as it did when I left it with them. This time, my  bag had a pen mark on it, along with a cut  that looked like it came from a dirty exacto knife. Not only that, the handles have more greasy stains than when I brought it in.

I am not looking for perfection. I was just looking for a decent job.is a "decent job" too much to ask when I paid over 120 bucks for their service?

I am very passive so I just walked out with my items. Defeated.

I am sure that Master Cobbler might have been a good place for repairs a long time ago. But it was probably before  the Yelp Effect got to it.

I've been here a couple of times in the past few weeks. The first time was to get some shoes reheeled and the lining reglued. The second time was to get a new replacement leather liner for a pair of sandals and to pick up the first pair.

Both times, Darlene has been very friendly and helpful. When I picked up my first pair, they'd been reheeled, but the lining hadn't been reglued yet, so she asked if I could wait a few minutes while they did that. I said sure, and dropped off my sandals. While I waited, many other customers came in and I saw that Master Cobbler is able to repair luggage and even put more holes in leather belts.

My shoes were ready in about five minutes, but then I noticed that the liner on one shoe had been torn and glued down. I asked her about it, because it wasn't like that originally, and she said the cobbler must have accidentally ripped it while he was taking up the entire liner to reglue. I wasn't happy about this, since I'd just dropped off my sandals because of ruined liners and was paying to have them replaced. But I was in a hurry and I needed the shoes for a trip the next day. Darlene said they guaranteed their work, so if the torn and reglued part started to bother my foot, to bring them back.

When I got back from my trip and went  to pick up the sandals, I also took along a belt that needed another hole punched in it, as well as the first pair of shoes that had been ripped. When I showed up Darlene was as friendly as ever. I gave her my ticket for the sandals, but also asked if she remembered what had happened with the torn liner on the first pair. She did, so I told her that I wasn't happy about the ripped liner and asked if they'd be willing to do a make-good by punching a hole in my belt for free. Darlene said they could definitely do that and took my belt back to the cobbler to see if he could do it then and had the right size grommet.

In a couple of minutes, Joe came out with my belt and showed me the grommet they had, which was different than the one on my belt. He suggested that he just cut and resize the belt instead of making another hole. That way, the original holes would be intact, but the belt would be a little smaller. I explained that I'd asked for the work to be done for free, as a make-good, and wasn't sure if this additional work would still qualify. He said it wasn't a problem, and apologized about the tear in the shoe liner. Usually resizing the belt would be more expensive but he was still willing to do it for no charge because he wanted me to be happy.

Imagine that, people!

I picked up the belt today and it now fits perfectly! I really appreciate the care and attention Darlene and Joe give their customers, and I'm definitely planning to use them again and recommend them to everyone.

What can I say- I am addicted to Christian Louboutins. I will admit I was a bit nervous the first time I was handed a pink repair tag in exhange for leaving an 900 dollar pair of shoes....but all fear was gone after I saw the amazing work of Master Cobbler.
I have had seven pairs of Christian Louboutins resoled here- they even stock the hard to find thin red vibram  to properly resole these beauties. They also did an amazing dye job on my satin CL wedding shoes.
Yes, there are other cobblers who charge less out there, but I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". And when my irreplaceable ivory python heels are in need to repair, I certainly wouldn't leave them anywhere else just to save a couple of bucks.

He saved my suede Coach bag that had been stained by dye from rubbing against my jeans :(  Prices are reasonable and he did it within no time....I dropped it off and went to the mall and within 20 minutes he called me back and said it was done!  It looked as good as new!

I have some shoes that need some TLC...so I'll probably take them here too :)

I have been here a few times to repair some of my belongings which need to be taken care of. During my first visit I brought in my Juicy Couture leather purse because one of the handles started to peel off. They glued it back together, but after a while it started to peel off again. I then realized that it's not a reflection of their work, but more so the poor craftmanship of my Juicy Couture bag's handle. On my second visit, I brought it back and Master Cobbler fixed it for free. May be they will continue to fix it until I retire the bag? Or until the handle falls off...

During my second visit I also brought a couple pairs of shoes to get re-heeled, polished, and cleaned. They all came out looking almost brand new. No complaints on shoe repair.

I also brought in one of my vintage Gucci purses to get re-piped and cleaned. Let me tell you what a FANTASTIC job they did. My vintage purse was once again shiny and clean....I'm even afraid to start using it again because I don't want it to get all ratty again. They did such an awesome job on that purse, I brought in 2 more purses! I brought in another Juicy Couture leather bag for cleaning and polishing, and another vintage Gucci clutch to get re-lined in the inside.  We'll see how that turns out.

My only complaint about this place is the price. It's really really high compared to other places I've gone to in Southern California and San Ramon.  To get my Juicy purse cleaned and polished costs $65. That's kind of steep, but I guess you have to pay the price to keep your expensive stuff alive.

The good thing about Master Cobbler is that they've done a few things for free for me... like put holes in my sandals so that they will fit me better, re-fix my bag handle, and a wallet I had.

I could have gone to any other cobbler near my house for this, but when someone treats me well, I stay loyal so I hopped into my car and drove a few exits down 280 to Master Cobbler.

Walked in today just after 9am because my new Choo's errr...... my new shoes(!) needed a couple of extra holes punched in the straps.

I was in and out within 5 minutes and they didn't even charge me!

It's been about 1.5 years since my initial review and I'm happy to still give these fellas 5 stars!

Bravo guys.  Keep up the good work!

So, I have this "friend" and he, I mean, she needed to her 3.5-inch, knee high boot zipper fixed. The zipper the runs down the side of the boot was no longer working. But she had to work all day and she knew I could take a long lunch so she asked if I could take care of it.

I went over to this place and the guy there took a look at it. He said it would be $12 and that I could come back in an hour or so. I was about to leave when he asked me to wait. He went to the back room and a couple minutes later, came back with the damaged boot. It was repaired. The zipper was like new.

Zip! Zip! Zip!

He then said that will be $12. I was about to pay him, when he said that $6 would be fine. I paid him and he said that I should come in later to do some touch up work on the heel. He said he could do it while I waited.

Now I know what do do with all of my boots and heels. Wait. I mean, now I know what to do with my friend's boots and heels.

Okay. Okay. I admit it. It was for me. It was for a costume party, okay?

Regardless of what I do on the weekends, the Master Cobbler is where you need to go for all of your shoe needs.

If you know me, you know that I wear 4" heels on a daily basis, and I walk all around SF. If you know me really well, you know that I am only 5'1" without these heels. It is really rare that you'll find me in flats. Consequently, my heels get worn out pretty quick, especially my knee high boots during the winter.

I wore down my sexy Miss Sixty high heeled boots and needed the bottom of the heels and the soles to be replaced. Since I was driving through San Jose, I relied on Yelp Mobile to find me a good cobbler in the area. It didn't just help me find a good cobbler, it helped me find the master!

I was pleased to see that Master Cobbler didn't just display their "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker on their door, but they also had their congratulatory letter from Yelp, along with other letters written by satisfied customers, on display on their counter. Service was great, and I felt confident that they would take care of my babies. And they did! For $44, I got Miss Sixty back looking like new.

These boots were made for walking, and thanks to Master Cobbler, they've got many many more miles left in them!

I've never went to a cobbler before but have been meaning to go to one for quite some time because of my favorite pair of pointy toe shoes were falling apart and it's heels were worn down.

So, when I needed to get my ballroom dance shoes mended the store I purchased my shoes at suggested I come here to Master Cobbler.

The job was seamless, I couldn't even tell where they sew my shoe back together! It was fantastic and I couldn't wait to get my favorite pair of pointy toes done.

When I had the cobbler inspect it, he said that he would try his best to recover the points because they were nearly far beyond repair. But when I came back the next week to pick up the shoes, they were far more beautiful than when I left them. Maybe I didn't have much of an expectation, but I was blown away with their work.

They rebuilt the tips of the toe, replaced my heels and died the tips because I had worn down the leather already. It was pretty cool how they were able to match it as best as they could because the tips were faux snake skin!

I told the cobbler that I wish I took a before picture so that I could show the world how well they did their job because to me, these shoes are like a brand new pair for me!

I can't wait to put these babies back on!

If you're looking for a cobbler and don't know where to go, definitely come here! You won't regret it!

WOW!  I live in Palo Alto but work at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.  I needed taps put on my new tap shoes and tried to go to a shop in Palo Alto but they closed before I made it home from work.  I decided to go to Master Cobbler in San Jose (thanks to Yelp reviews!) during my lunch break and not only was it cheaper than what I was quoted in Palo Alto ($12 vs. $15) but he finished the job in 10 minutes while I waited!  To top it off, the credit card machine was down because of a power outtage.  He took the $5 in cash that I had and said that I could stop by another time with the remaining $7 or just mail it!  The man has no idea who I am or where I live and yet he let me leave with the shoes!  What a nice person!  I didn't know people like this still exist!  I haven't stopped by a bank yet, but as soon as I do I'm going back to give him the rest!  Just amazing!

I am almost as shocked as you are that I am giving this establishment 1 star due to the other reviews, but the experience I encountered here goes beyond wrong.

I took 2 pairs of suede boots to be fixed. Minor holes, some inside heel work, and a simple snip and tie. One was a pair I had bought recently in Rome, my very favorite pair.

Let's start out with the fact that I was quoted a price and told from the owner that he would call me before they did any work. Never happened. Then I was told I would be called around July 3rd when they POTENTIALLY would be finished. NEVER HAPPENED.

To make a long story short, everything I had asked to be done wasnt, and all the things I asked not to be done was. And then I was told I MUST pay the $72 for services he never did.

Then comes the arguement. My asking why things were done to my shoes that I specifically asked NOT to be done, and the main reason I asked for, were not even touched.

There is nothing worst than someone who you are giving money to for services to call you a liar. This man (the owner) did. He said I asked for the heels to be replaced when I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HIM NOT TO. Multiple times.

I was shaking and almost completely lost it when he took my shoes and said that he was going to throw them away himself or undo the things he had done to them. Favorite shoes or $72? I chose my shoes that cost me a $1200 plane ticket.

Bottom line, I can not beleive the horrid "craftmanship" while there are still holes where he said he sewed, that this man called me a liar and then went in the backroom only to continue to talk about me to his workers, and then made me pay $72 for all of it. (I ended up paying $50 because he "Just wanted me out of his store".)

I am not cheap. I am not one of those people who expect royal treatment but I dont expect someone to complete destroy a material possession that one has traveled 10,000 miles to obtain.

I am sorry this review is somewhat scattered. Anger does not = eloquence and poise.

EDIT: I think it is funny that now there is a bunch of 5 star reviews from people with no friends and no other reviews. Looks like someone is getting his family to review him to get his awful business rating up.

I was in the area for a few weeks, training for a new job. One of my new co-workers helped load some things in the trunk of my car and asked, "What's with all them shoes cluttering up your car?".

I had several pairs of vintage boots and heels that needed repair but since I was in between Salinas, SF, Campbell and Sacramento for work, I hadn't got around to it.

I realized that I didn't want to have to carry all those shoes around in my car anymore and yelped for a shoe repair place in the area (that day was Campbell). Found this place and I'm glad that I did.

The man (Joe, I'm guessing?) took my boots and looked them over, I was telling him what I wanted done when I looked up and noticed he hadn't been listening.

WTF? and then he said, "Excuse me for a second," and ran out of the shop. I'm standing there like, "uhhh ... what just happened?".

He ran back in and apologized, he was listening to my requests but when he looked up, saw that the customer before me was about to back into a wall (their "parking lot" is ridiculously small) and ran out to help direct them out of the place. So nice!

Anyway, back to the shoes ... my boots needed a crack fixed, insoles put in and heel tips replaced. He gave me choices as to which insoles to put in and I was able to stay within my budget. I believe it ran about $35-$40 for the work and it was completely worth it.

If I'm ever in the area again, this is where I'm dropping my shoes off. :)

Unlike their competitor down the street, this place seems a bit cleaner and much more organized.  The store was nice and neat, it didn't smell like show polish, like Cobbler Bench, and it didnt feel cluttered either.  The guy who was working was eager to help and they told me exactly what they needed to do for my shoes.

The absolute best place to get anything fixed...I take my tired worn heels here to get their "souls" repaired after all the sinning they have gone through and they come out looking and feeling like angels again!

I recommended one of my clients here as she had gotten a color stain  on her Louis Vuitton from one of the stylists I worked with at my OLD SALON and she brought her purse to LV and they told her it was going to take about $400 to replace the canvas.  CRAZY!!! So she took it here and they fixed it as if it never happened!  Amazing!

Master Cobbler is not your typical shoe repair shop, they are artists, and their medium is shoe.

Yes, they're more $$ than my o.g. cobbler, but they are soo worth it. My BCBG kitten heels with ankle strap had a toe leak, and they re-did the toe and matches up perfectly. I couldn't believe it. I've fixed a total of 8 pairs of shoes there.

- new heel bottoms
- new toe sole
- ripped leather on back of heel
- broken straps

but mainly new heel bottoms.

On my BCBG suede pumps with ankle straps, the heel bottom fell off but I didn't immediately notice so the suede on the heel ripped. How they fixed it, I don't know. I think they're employing magic elves.

Amazing.

jej: Exeptional quality, decent turn-around-time
nej: Holy no parking batman

***Update, I have to subtract a star, as one pair of my shoe's soles that they partially re-soled came off  after wearing them maybe thrice :( I'm very sad.

I've taken a couple of shoes for different types of repairs (big scuff, heel damage, etc) and I've been disappointed every time.  The last one was after my dog chewed my heel.  Instead of replacing the entire heel, they replaced half of the heel material with one that didn't match, and there was a huge indentation/gap where the two materials met.  It was very noticeable, despite what the lady in the front kept saying.  I asked if this was the best they could do, and believing them, paid and left with my ugly heel.  Liars. I took the shoe somewhere else, got the entire heel replaced, and paid half of what Master Cobbler charged me.

I'm never going back to this place.

Minus 1 star for the poor quality work every time I took my shoes there.

Minus 1 star for their high prices.

Minus 1 star for the attitude from the lady in the front.  I am a customer, you should not be rude or condescending.

Minus 1 star for lying (see above about not being able to do anything else about my heel).

I went to Nordstroms to get my shoe's shined but the homeboy working the stand was out sick.  This was right before my buddy's wedding so I needed a shoe shine bad because my shoes were filthy.  I went to the Master Cobbler and asked them if they could shine my shoe's while I waited.  He said sure 5 min then looked at my heal and said that I needed a repair and that if I didn't repair them it would cost me more later.

I've never gotten shoes repaired and I said," while I wait"?  He said yeah 15 min.  I said, "ok, let's do it".  15 minutes later he asked he if the original stiching on the top of the shoe was black because it was worn out.  I said yea and he comenced fixing it.

It did take over 15 minutes but it was well worth the wait! My shoes looked brand new and they threw in the shine for free.  It was $20 to repair the sole and the $5 shoe shine was thrown in for free.

Master Cobbler you are the best!!!

Have only had great experiences here.  One time, I mistakenly took the advice of a Neiman Marcus sales clerk who convinced me to buy shoes 1/2 size too small, I took them here to be stretched.  When I got them back, I wore them a few times and they were still a little tight.  Despite that several months had passed, I took them back to Master Cobbler, and they re-stretched them for free.  Highly recommended.

I went there to have the heels fixed in two pairs of shoes. The first thing I noticed when i walked in was the old, family feel. I saw pictures and awards on the wall, and found out this was a multi-generation owned family business.

They work on shoes, and I believe luggage and leather goods (e.g. purses). Their service was great, prices reasonable, and quality fantastic. They were able to save a pair of shoes I really like, which is two thumbs up in my book. The shoe looks great, and it seems to be holding up really well.

I highly recommend Master Cobbler if you have shoe repair needs!

I was referred here by Gucci on Santa Row. I have 1960s vintage Gucci bag and one of the handles needed fixing. I brought it in and the gentleman taking my order was very knowledgeable and was able to work with my timeline (I was leaving town in a few days so I needed the purse back earlier than usual). When I came to pick up the purse they had not even started working on it because someone placed it on the wrong shelf! Before I even began getting flustered the guy who was helping me this time (Joe!) apologized and promised to fix the purse before closing time. I didn't mind killing a few hours if it meant my vintage Gucci was coming back all fixed. I lost track of time and called the store to let Joe know I was running late and to ask him to possibly wait for me before closing up. He said that no matter how late I was running he was going to wait because they messed up the timing of fixing my bag.

When I picked up the bag it was in excellent condition. You can't even tell that there was anything wrong with the handle. It cost me $35 to fix a few stitches BUT this was the first place that was able to fix the problem. No other luggage or purse place was able to do it. I was also offered free service on my next item to compensate for the little mix-up. This place really prides themselves on being the best in the business and on treating their customers with respect. This was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had dealing with a business.

One thing to mention is I think they specialize in designer items - if you have an LV bag that needs fixing (inside lining, stitching, etc) they'll do it and they have experience doing it. Two thumbs up.

Master Cobbler took Boyfriend's Mark Nasons from zero to HERO!

Boyfriend wore through his MN heels pretty fast. And he also managed to wear out the whipstitching on a $190 belt I bought him last year. Master Cobbler fixed them both for around $40 or so. They don't look brand new, they look better! Brand new belts and shoes always look a bit stuff. These shoes and belt are well worn yet in perfect condition at the same time.

Oh and they gave us lollies too :)

Park in front if you have a COMPACT car. Otherwise park in back or in the lot next door.

Do your wallet a favor: buy better shoes and leather goods. Get them repaired rather than buying vinyl and throwing it away every season.

The metal heel of my Irregular choice londons  were broken off, and I sent it to these guys to get it fixed. They did an awesome job for a cheap price, $10! They're kind  of busy, so expect for a couple days to get it done.

Parking sucks (only 2 spaces out front) and one on the street, so I had to park on the next door business lot.

i've never dealt with any other cobblers before, so i can't compare, but the service here is darn good!

i dropped my favorite pair of boots to have the heels replaced (which i had totally worn out the heel, from dancing, and i have this tendency to lean back on my right heel when i stand... it's just something i do).

after a quick horrified look at how bad the heels were, the guy behind the counter was so nice and courteous and professional. he can have it to me by saturday (it's tuesday today).. or he can have it to me by today.
i was confused... 'whichever works better for you' was my reply. TODAY??
he then asked which would be more convienent for me...
(now, that is FANTASTIC service!)
so i decided to pick it up today. the boots were available in 2 HOURS. TWO HOURS! i have coworkers that takes longer than that to reply to my EMAILS!

i wish i had more boots to repair, but they do repairs on purses and handbags too - i saw some pricey handbags in the back row being worked on.

5 stars for excellent service, professional attitude, and better-than-expected work ethics!

Super fast and friendly service! They had my favorite Nine West heels repaired in a day! I tend to tear up heels pretty quickly. It's been a few months and my heels still look good! This is pretty impressive considering that I work downtown and I do a lot of walking (and running to my car to feed the parking meter) on concrete. Thank you Master Cobbler!

After reading all the reviews here, I had to try Master Cobbler out. The work is of excellent quality, and the customer service matches.

I brought in four pairs of shoes, including my prized (essentialy priceless) kangaroo skin lace-ups I bought in Rome. Half soles, new laces, new heels, the works. When I came to pick up, the owner explained that work on 3 of the pairs were complete - the fourth needed some extra work. To compensate me for the delay, he discounted the price of the work by 33%, and threw in some extra shoelaces for another pair of shoes, gratis.

Very classy explanation, and a first-rate business. Will definitely come back again.

Note that they are closed on Sunday, which, I think runs counter to what's posted on their website.

I originally came in with two pair of shoes but the guy offered to cement the nasty gash on the heel of my second pair right on the spot.  SCORE!  The soles were worn down in the front of my pumps and I thought I'd have to replace the entire sole but he advise me with what he could do instead for half the cost.  SWEET!  The repair did cost a pretty penny for heel tips, toe soles, and stitching but it was worth it.  I'm never throwing out another pair again.

If you have the money and want it done right, the guys at Master Cobbler are true masters at their craft. I almost threw these shoes out thinking they couldn't be repaired and Ricky helped me get a couple more years out of them. When I first walked out after dropping off my heels, I was really second guessing myself -- I had just spent $30.00(!) to replace/repair the straps on a pair of heels that I probably only paid $40 for.  But, today when I picked them up, I was just amazed at the craftsmanship.  They didn't just fix the strap.  These shoes are like new.  Every inch of this shoe has been cleaned and polished. I wish I had taken a before/after photo to show it to you.  I have never written a Yelp review before but was so impressed by their quality of service, I wanted to let others know.

My fav black GUESS pumps needed emergency care. Based on the reviews of this place found on yelp...I took them to the Master today. He said $26 total-10 for the heel caps and 16 to repair the ripped leather on the toe. Kinda pricy but then again this is my first time getting a shoe repaired therefore, I am not familiar with pricing. I figured it would be cheaper than buying the same exact pair. We will see if they live up to the high standards my fellow yelpers have rated them as.

Took my favorite bag here for cleaning. And then it apparently needed to be re-dyed because it was so dirty that cleaning it took the color off. Okay, I'll give the guy who quoted me that since I have been a negligent owner. He told me $65! Yikes. But I figured if you've already invested a quarter of a semester's tuition into the bag, you might as well pay the money to get it cleaned right after treating it like it's from Forever 21 for all this time. So I paid it.
I was told it would be ready in 2 weeks, which I already thought was sort of long. So I showed up in 2 weeks and it wasn't ready. They told me to come back in another week. Luckily I work sort of close otherwise I would have been really pissed that I didn't get a call telling me it wasn't ready so I didn't have to drive over there to find out.
Anyway, the bag looks a lot better. It doesn't look spectacular though. Maybe I just damaged it beyond repair, but I do notice that the leather is a lot tougher now (used to be the softest EVER). I don't think he conditioned it after he washed it. I'd say the quality of cleaning I got is worth about $35.
Bottom line is that they might be really great at fixing shoes, but if I ever need another bag cleaned, I'll probably pass. They offer a good bag cleaning service, but it's just not worth the price they charge.

I followed fellow yelpers' advice and brought my new shoes in to be stretched and soles added to the bottoms.  $12 to stretch the shoes and $26 to add the bottomw soles.  I was shocked byt he price but figured they must be masters at what they do so I'll see how well the work turns out.  They told me a week.

They did a decent job with the bottoms soles.  But I don't think they actually stretched the shoes.  They feel as tight as when I first bought them.  Given how confused they were when I picked up the shoes (first they couldn't find them then "they were still working on them"), my guess is someone forgot to put them in the stretcher when I dropped them off.  Nonetheless, instead of being honest about it, they charged me and told me if I'm not happy to bring the shoes back.  With gas prices so high, I don't feel like having to keep going back so they can correct their mistakes.  They should do it right the first time.  Plus $12 to stretch shoes?!!!  The most I've paid in the past has been $4 or $5 and the work was actually done!

I guess if you have something rather complicated to fix they'd probably do a good job (but that will cost you plenty).  But if you have simple repairs, I would stay away from this overpriced joint.

Fantastic cobbler, I spend the mileage and come here when I need work done on shoes and handbags.  I have brought my favorite pair of  Fornarina pumps here and breathed life back into them!  Numerous designer handbags have been cleaned and revived for a fairly good price.  The owner is frequently working in house, and is honest about what he can do for your item.  They are so exceptional, that they are used by Nordstrom and Gucci on Santana Row.

I took three pairs of bridesmaid shoes here to be dyed.  A word to brides and bridesmaids:  dye-to-match shoes come with little sample swatches of the shoe fabric.  I highly recommend that you use those sample swatches to have them test the dye first.  They pointed that out to me.  Thank god they did because the first sample they dyed was not a match at all, so I had to have them dyed to match the dress.  It all worked out and the shoes are cute.  They charged $25 per pair for their dye-to-match service.

I needed to have the strap on my Gucci bag repaired.  I tried taking it to the Gucci store, but since I purchased it at Neimans, they said they couldn't help me.  The salesperson recommended that I come here to have it repaired.  I reluctantly took it in, as I'd have rather had the strap replaced instead of glued back together.  The cobbler basically did what i expected...glue the strap back together.  There was nothing striking about the job, and being about a month later, the strap is already starting to peel apart again.  This isn't even my everyday bag!  I am dissatisfied with the job.

They did a good job but the it was quite expensive. Considered spending $60 on repairing a pair of fairly new boots I bought on sales for only $130! Oh well, I did not have a choice because I did not want to give up my new boots so soon. They explained to me that it would cost that much because they had to do a lot of work to repair the torn inside lining for these boots.

Based on the excellent Yelp reviews I went to the Master Cobbler to get the strap of my mom's leather purse adjusted. She wanted a hole punched in the strap since it was too long for her taste. Not only did they do an amazing job with the hole but they did it for free and in under a minute! It makes me wish I had shoes for them to repair.

Firstly, I just like the idea of going to a cobbler. It connotes specialist and old time quality craftsmanship and skill. Secondly Master Cobbler definitely lives up to the name. I had 4 pairs of run down shoes, they were some of my favorite pairs as usually I just toss those broken down shoes and buy new ones. One pair I had particularly ruined the heel and I embarrassingly brought them in. They were completely fantastic. The people there are really nice and knowledgeable and did an excellent job. When I saw my shoes I was impressed and exclaimed "It's so weird, I totally ruined these shoes." To which the person I spoke to that day replied, "You 'thought' you ruined these shoes." =)

I have only gone there once to have rubber heel tips placed on a pair of boots.  They offered same day (3 hour) service, which I liked, and the cost was reasonable, only $10.00.  The employees seemed polite and friendly.  I will be going there again for my shoes in need of loving care/repair.

I am biased because the owner is an old family friend--Hi Rick! But honestly they do quality work and even better--if they are not able to fix it they will tell you instead of trying and screwing up. : )
