Martina is the best! I have gone to her for years after trying other therapists first. She gives a great deep tissue massage and really cares about her clients. She knows alot about the body, as well, and as an ongoing client I have learned so much from her about stretches I can do to help feel better in between sessions, etc.

I believe there are two components to a massage experience, the massage therapist and the environs.

My massage therapist did and excellent job on my neck and shoulders, but the remainder of her work was unbalanced and incomplete. For instance, she didn't even touch my toes when she worked on my feet, nor did she do more than lightly stroke each of my arms (those deltoids, biceps, triceps, elbows, forearms, and wrists, not to mention the hands, need some love too). I think she lacked the stamina required of a 90 minute massage.

I might give her a second chance, but I won't be going back to Massage Envy. It's not my kind of place.

First, the business is not set up to do anything other than make money. This is not the place for you if you're looking to have a relationship with someone who will get to know you and your body, and work with you to address your body health needs.

For evidence, look no farther than your nose. Everywhere you turn in Massage Envy, there's a "suggestion" not just that you tip, but in what amount. It's kinda Massage 101, and maybe indicative to what Massage Envy is really about: introducing people to massage.

I agree with the comments by other Yelpers, that Massage Envy has a distinctive factory, sterile, doctor's office, or otherwise corporate feel. The lobby is comfortable enough but certainly doesn't have a spa-like feel. The treatment rooms are all identical and spotless, but lack the warmth and comfort I've enjoyed elsewhere.

My biggest disappointment with Massage Envy is that I didn't get what I paid for. My 90-minute massage lasted less than 80 minutes. It's clear that the process here is to retrieve clients at the appointed hour, give them five minutes to slip out of their clothes and onto the table, then complete the massage with five minutes left in the hour, to allow the client to dress, and to free up the room for the next client.

In my case, my therapist and I decided to boost my massage to 90 minutes from 60, meaning she had to leave the room for a few minutes to get permission, thus shorting me even more than the apparently usual 10 minutes. What bothered me about this was the "needing to get permission" requirement, especially since she originated the idea and sold me on it. Seems employees here are pawns, and aren't empowered to deviate from protocol.

Massage Envy minimally met my expectation of water at the end of a massage, by giving me a small paper cup full.

The front of house was perhaps the most disappointing part of my visit. When I made my appointment I was told one amount was on my gift card. When I checked out, I was told a different amount. The person booking my appointment failed to inform me that there is free parking in the adjacent garage, and eyes rolled when I showed up only seven minutes early, as opposed to the requested 15 (to complete 90 seconds of paperwork).

On the day I went in for my massage, none of the women sitting at the reception desk were able make eye contact or smile. They did a good job of sticking to their scripts though, by asking about a tip, asking me to schedule a recurring appointment, reminding me that if my therapist wasn't a good that they can find another, and telling me about the Massage Envy membership program.

In the end, I may have too much experience with massage to being anything more than underwhelmed by Massage Envy. If you are new to massage, buy into the concept that a massage membership has value, or want an inexpensive massage and haven't found other ways to get one, Massage Envy may be a good fit for you.

For me, I left feeling like they owe me 12-15 minutes, or a discount on services partially rendered.

I will start off by saying that, with massages, you get what you pay for.  I only paid 40 bucks for this introductory hour long massage... So I really shouldn't complain.

I just didn't like the facility very much.  It was very corporate and not very spa-like.  I could hear noises through the walls, doors closing, people talking, etc. etc.  My massage therapist was fine and she listened to what I wanted, but I think I needed her to literally JUMP on my back.  Anywho, if I'm in the market for a cheap massage, I'll go again..

But it felt like a massage therapy factory.  Tons of therapists, not entirely personal.

I woke up this morning with a miserably sore back (I'm preggers right now) and needed a massage ASAP so called and of course got an appointment right away.  I'd never actually been to one of these chain places but I figured for a last minute massage and at only $39 you can't beat it.

It was really only "ok", as all the other yelpers say, the waiting room is awkward and the page long questionnaire of how often you want massages was a waste of time so I left most of it blank.

My massage was only 50 minutes (like everyone else noted) and it just wasn't that great.  My MT seemed to like going over the same areas on my back over and over and over and over....you get the picture, I wasn't quite sure what she was trying to accomplish besides giving me some kind of burn from the repetitive friction---it was honestly like no other massage I'd ever had and not in a good way.

As cheap as it is (and BTW I did not tip their requested $13 fee for $39---I gave 20%) it's still not worth it, I'd rather pay more and go to spas or clinical MT's for a better experience.

I have read the other reviews and perhaps I always manage to find exactly what I am looking for.  I have a Massage Envy membership and use it all over the country.  I always ask for deep tissue, nuero muscular technigue.  I have learned that if you ask for what you want you generally get it there.
I have to point out Shuree, who I was so so lucky to have last week, is one of the best massage therapists I have ever had, whether at Massage Envy or not.  I received MORE than I asked for as far as experience and expertise.  I also asked questions of her that she was more than willing to answer as to why my body liked to knot up into painfulness.

This place is a racket. The therapists were always nice enough and the massages were okay. But they will take you for every cent you've got if they can. Don't sign up for their monthly plan.

Wow, is all I have to say.

I am extremely sensitive and when I say I want a Swedish massage to relax I mean it! I have been several places in the Denver area where I walked out hurting and to find someone who is gentle yet effective at Massage Envy Cherry Creek was not only convenient but cost-friendly.  I was first hesitant to Massage Envy because I had the perception that they were a chain and less reputable.  However, Cherlyn surpasses my expectations.  She listened to what I needed and delivered superior performance.  I have no doubt that if I would have requested a deep tissue massage she would have delivered the same performance.  Overall, Cherlyn is amazing and not only am I happy to have found an amazing massage therapist, I would recommend her to anyone!

I am by no means a massage expert--my budget doesn't allow me to be. For price, this place gets 5 stars. I have only had 2 not-so-good massages there after having the membership for a year. Mostly I stuck with the same two therapists and they were great and quite responsive to my requests for how much pressure, etc. I always left feeling like a noodle. If you are looking to incorporate regular, affordable massage into your wellness routine and don't have $100+ to spend every month, this place is totally worth it. The membership is a good deal, I think, especially since you get rollover massages for the months you don't use it/can't make it.

I was in pain for 3 days after my massage here.
While visiting Denver, a friend and I signed up for massages, as the first massage is $39 and we could get in at the last minute and at the same time.
Well, that should have been a bad sign, I guess.  I didn't know this place is a chain and, upon walking in, felt like I was in a doctor's office.  The design of this place literally feels like a hospital waiting room, with the exception of the elitist magazines offered (I only saw Golf and Denver Homes magazines--yuck).  When you arrive, you are asked to complete forms.  One of which is just a survey to find out how they can advertise your need for more massages.
My masseuse was quite odd.  I've never had an experience like this.  I signed up for the Swedish Massage, which is supposed to be relaxing and gentle.  Upon laying down on the table (which is like motorized dentist chair--bad associations) she asked if I needed my "back popped."  I had never heard that before, but guessed I didn't and she said she'd check.  Before I could respond, she smashed her palms down on my back and cracked it.  Then, she asked, "Doesn't that feel better?"  I was speechless....and, no, it didn't.
She then proceeded to find "trigger points" (and never explained what that meant), which I learned resulted in pain for me.  She stated she had to work them out and this included digging deeply into painful spots all over.  She explained how much better I'd feel and, stupidly, I believed her.  It was a far from relaxing, calming massage, which is what I had wanted.
As I was walking out, she reminded me that I'll need to take ibuprofen the next day.  I have never had that said to me after a massage.
I can't imagine circumstances under which I would return.  Not only did I not feel relaxed, I was in pain.  Even the cheap initial massage is not worth it.  And, they list suggested gratuities in the waiting room which are far above the industry standard.
Next time I'll pay more and won't be crippled by pain for days afterward.

So it wasn't until *after* I made my appointment that I decided to read the Yelp reviews...so maybe my review is overly biased, as I was expecting the worst massage I've had in my life. I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, the atmosphere was not kitchy or overly Zen, it is certainly a corporate kind of place, but the massage was relaxing, the therapist friendly and professional and the service speedy. Plus, I could make my appointment the same day! Sure, if I want to treat myself to a melt-into-the-table massage, I will go elsewhere, but the massage was worth every dollar of the $39.00 I paid!

One day, I didn't have much to do ... just chilling and relaxing....sipping latte and driving around cherry creek....

I love having massages.... I normally have massage therapy about once a month....

I didn't have an appointment... just walked in to this place for the first massage there... only $39.... awesome....
(Another nice thing... they have garage parking.)

The therapist I had.... was great!  She did exactly what I told her and how I wanted it...

I wish I lived in Denver.... If you didn't see me.... it would be the place where you could find me everyday..... lol

I had a deep tissue massage here last weekend.  It was alright.  My massure didn't work out all the kinks like I was hoping, but  39 bucks for an hour long massage?  Are you kidding me?  You really can't complain.  So I'm not going to.

I had an awful experience! I paid up front for a 2 hour massage and instead had a guy in a horrible mood who obviously hated his job, massage me for only 1 hour. What a waste! They keep charging me and I keep disputing it bc I will NEVER go back there!

I went here last week for my first massage in about 5 years. I'm ticklish, so massage isn't really my thing.  A finger in the rib, and I'm laughing and wiggling, not relaxing and Om-ing.  But I had a knot in my back, and wanted a massage, like, now.  And that is their first star.  Massage on a walk in basis.  Nobody else could get me in, now.  Though I don't have much to compare it to, my MT was pretty good. Super cute girl named Kimmy.  She did fix the thing in my back, which was the 70% of my goal.  The other goal was relaxation, and this was not entirely gratified (although totally not Kimmy's fault, it was the the actual place that was not relaxing).  The waiting area is really sterile and doctor-waiting-room like.  Not relaxing, even a little.  Then in the massage room, there was a loud-speaker overhead that played super generic (therefore, not peaceful, but kinda amusing) elevator version of soothing music.  It was like Muzak has a massage station.  I found myself thinking about this during the massage.  I would have liked it better if there was a small stereo and the MT could bring in their preference for some tunes.  The second star was for the low price everyone commented on.  I can't really find it in myself to star them up anymore than that.  Overall, good if you're way broke, and want to get in NOW.  Otherwise, go to an independent MT.

For the money, Massage Envy is great!!  I have gone to several therapists, and have not been dissappointed by any.  The receptionists are great about matching you up with requests (ie: who is great for deep tissue??, etc.)  If you like deep tissure, go see Jen McClean or Matthew!!
