Great Lunch and Breakfast. Huge portions yes, but just ask for a to go box when you order and put 1/2 away before you start. Last time I went the veggie burger/sandwich whatever came with two patties and my diet coke cup looked like one of those huge big gulp containers that truckers carry around. For under 8 bucks I got two meals out of it... can't beat that at a sit down restaurant. Perfect for nursing a hangover or for taking grams out for a quick breakfast after church.
I had to eat here twice before I got it. The first time I couldn't get over how rustic it was. I'm a bay area native and we're a bit snobby about cleanliness and decor. Or maybe it's just me.
Love going here for breakfast. I feel like I ought to own boots or drive a truck to come here - but they let us yuppie, gourmet food freaks in.
Best breakfast in the county, if not the entire area code. This place deserves 20 five-star reviews in a row to make up for Joanne's totally unfair review. Greasy and extremely generous are plusses to me. But mention the flavor. And the variety on the menu, which is just incredible!
Until recently, "stuffed French toast" was unheard of, but now that you've tried it at the come-latelies, you should try Gold Miner's. The original is by far the best. You really need a sweet-tooth, though. Imagine if Rick's Dessert Diner did breakfast, and this is what you'd get.
Worth the drive out, for sure!

TOO MUCH FOOD!
After I eat at the Gold Miner, my body feels sluggish and tired. I feel full for the rest of the day, unable to get more nutrious food in my tummy.
I think food at the Gold Miner is a bit greasy and the portions are too big.
I don't really need 4 half pieces of toast with this huge serving of country potatoes with my omlette. I feel I am wasting food by eating at the gold miner. Do I put it in my stomach and wait for my arteries to clog up? Or do I leave the food on my plate untouched and think about the starving children in Africa. I simply cannot decide.
I think a decent amount of food for breakfast is fine, I don't need to stuff myself to the point where I need to go take a nap to digest all the food I just ate.
The service is pretty good. Like I mentioned before, the portions are enormous. (which can be a good or bad thing)
On the other hand, the Gold Miner have a lot of selections for breakfast.

This is some good breakfast. The chicken fried is REALLY great.
Their mexican-style scrambles are also very good.
This is a very strong option for breakfast in the Folsom area.

Now that this fine place is back open, I must say they have the best breakfast around. The service is outstanding and they keep your coffee cup full at all times. The staff is friendly and make all your orders to your liking.
