We at Fetch! Pet Care LOVE taking our furry friends to Marymoor Park. It is such a great place for all of our small and large dogs. Thank you for having such a great place for our dogs to run and play.

My dog and I really enjoy coming to this dog park.
PROS:
- This is probably the largest dog park in the Seattle area, 40 acres I think.
-Diverse landscape; i.e. fields, river access, trails, open play areas, etc.
- Most owners are responsible about cleaning up after their pets
- A lot of people come here, so there is plenty of social interactions.
- Marymoor in general is a nice park.
CONS:
- I have witnessed several irresponsible owners that bring aggressive animals to the park. If your dog needs to be muzzled, the dog park is NOT a place for them. If you're dog is not under voice control, the dog park is NOT a place for them. These are SAFETY rules that are clearly posted, but some owners simply ignore them.
- There are no water fountains, and the river has been known to carry giardia.
Overall:
Bring water, keep a close eye on your pup, and you'll have a blast! -
Review from Pam L.
Note: there is a fee of $1.00 for parking. Make sure you have exact change.
I've explored a handful of dog parks And this one is the best I've been too. Huge area, swimming for those dogs that love water and plenty of poop bags provided. Always a plus!!
This park is a Dog Disneyland. -

This is the place to come if you want to relax either with your dog or without. Its a great park for everyone, our dogs had the best time but anyone can and will have fun here.
There is a ton of space to run and play, plenty of room to spread out and throw a frisbee without (I might not recommend that if the park is full, dog people will understand). A $1 to park is just right it makes a family outing inexpensive and fun. When we went there was an AKC agility show which was fun to watch.
Also near by is a great bagel place...blazing bagels - we all loved it...dogs and people were both welcome. -

This dog park is amazing! I Really feel like it is the disneyland for our four legged friends. Water areas for swimming, big areas in the grass to throw the balls. I just went today, and thought I was heading into a huge event as the parking lot was jammed.....There was no event just people and families with their dogs. I was surprised with the amount of dogs, how well they all got along.
Expresso stand at the front of the park, open for lattes and a bathing area for your dogs when you are done.
Things to Know:
-parking is a $1
-From August 15th until the end of the salmon spawning the swim areas are restricted and are much smaller.
-bathroom port a potty available for the humans mid-way by the swim areas. -

Dog heaven! I think my pup would live here if he could. We go 2-4 times a week and he starts whining with excitement whenever we get close. A couple of tips: don't let your dog drink the water from the river and don't bring your dog if it does not have good recall. It is a HUGE park but can be fairly crowded on late morning/early afternoon weekends.

I am a huge fan of magnusson park, its my go to off leash dog park any day of the week. So today we decided to give the other big dog park in the puget sound a try. Its kind of lame you have to pay a buck to park but oh well no big deal. I do wish they could simply put a fence in the front entrance, the whole thing is fenced in except a 6 foot area or so in the main entrances. Our dogs did enjoy this park alot, many trails going off in different directions. All the dog owners and dogs were well behaved and we had a great time. It did lack a little in atmposhere compared to magnusson which accounts for the 4 stars. I wish they had a small dog area as well as larger common areas. Overall a great place to take your little fuzzy friends if your in the area.

How have I not written a review for Marymoor yet? I swear I had before. Oh well, I can sing praises over it time and again. I don't mind because it is an excellent dog park.
Parking is a buck. It's beautiful, spacious, there's a dog washing facility and an off leash park. I love to take my dog to the off leash park and watch him run around and have the time of his life. And it's a large area, plenty of room to roam around and sniff away.
This is a great park to bring your pet. I'm so glad that I live close to Marymoor. My dog appreciates it too! -

I like Luther Burbank park on Mercer Island better.It is clean,completely fenced,less traffic,cleaner water,sand....
I choose not to visit dog park at Marymoor due to the fact that
* it does have a strong scent of dogs poop and pee which gave me a definite buzz upon inhaling.
Wowzers.eyes were burning.
*did not see too many people picking up after either.
* dog park at Marymoor has been known for transmitting girardia.
*some owners are not responsible for the mischief that their pets are up to
*some owners let the dogs roam through the park out of sight and without any supervision.
A year ago a weird man quietly leashed my dog and was walking away with her. When I screamed he replied that he thought the dog was lost (huh?) and he was going to tie her up at the entrance. We were by the water....Kinda weird....
The idea behind any dog park is great and it is so much needed.I wish that there are more fenced parks for the dogs which can help to lighten up the load for the Redmond location. -

$1 to park or buy a several month pass because it's cheaper in the long run and goes toward helping maintain the park.
Great big space with plenty of room for tons of dogs to run, play, and swim. My dog LOVES it here and that's all that really matters.
Downsides:
-Too many professional dog walkers don't watch all their charges closely enough (or have too many to make it possible) and don't pick up after all of them.
-Other folks don't pick up after their dogs...even when there are bags provided for free.
-Trash cans are too spaced out so you're stuck carrying poop for quite a while sometimes, which is why some people probably don't pick up after their dog.
-No fresh drinking water for the animals.
-Too many people bring their young pups or sick pups. If your puppy hasn't had all the rounds of its puppy shots (16 weeks)...leave it at home. If your dog has diarrhea...leave it at home.
-Also, if your dog isn't trained to listen to you, leave it at home. -

You Know that movie 'All dogs go to heaven'? I think they were talking about Marymoor's off-leash area.
There are so many dogs. And all those dogs pee everywhere. And In turn, my silly dog gets to mark his territory by peeing over the spot that every other dog peed. Basically, he could live here. It's his favorite thing to do.
Sniffing butts? Check. Bodhi gets to sniff a lot of dog's butts, both big and small. Its super cute when they run around in circles sniffing each others butts. I just have to make sure and not let him give me kisses later. Gross.
We had taken him to Magnuson Park's off-leash area about a year ago. and he HATED it. He stood next to us the entire time, shaking, and running away from all the dogs. Not the case at Marymoor. Sure he still doesn't want to play. But he will sniff their butts, and kick up the dirt to show his dominance at least.
I love the mix of big and small dogs. And all of them are super nice! Redmond definitely has the best dog owners. And I love being included in this great community! Now if only we can get Bodhi socialized enough to play with some of these dogs. Suggestions? -

This is dog nirvana. It's almost as much so for their lowly human companions as well.
The park (as Jen L so awesomely puts it )is MASSIVE and you can walk for an hour comfortably around the park with your canine companions. There's water for them to swim in, there's grass for them to bound through, there's corralled areas for them to play together and on the way out, there's a dog wash for the mud that has become encrusted in their fur.
Parking for the area is $1 (or buy an anuual pass) and you can almost always find a spot close to the entrances- please do leash your dogs as they leave the (warning-unfenced) areas at the entrances so no one gets hurt.
Also,it's important to remember to walk the walk and be sure to support the park, it's upkept mostly by a volunteer organization

Best dog park ever.. almost.
My dog Sasha loves this place. She can sniff an endless amount of butts, play in the mud, dirt or water, and run, run, run!
The only problem I have with this park is the lack of fence. My dog has escaped a few times from here, and I've had to chase her around the other parts of the park which is no fun, especially when you run into LARPers.Listed in: Eastside

Probably one of the coolest dog parks I've been to. If your dog loves to run, play, swim or beg for treats from humans (like mine..), this is the place to be!
Some things that I didn't like about this place...
this place is that it is extra large!!!! If you're dog loves to run and has poor recall, then you might wanna bring your Nikes.
If your dog poops, then you're walking around with a poop bag til you get to the trash can.
On those hot Seattle days, dogs need drinking water. Unless you're bringing your own water and dish, there really isn't an accessible area for dogs to drink from other than the river and random mud puddles.
But other than that, great place to take your dog(s). -

Marymoor is fantastic in so many ways. Oh, parks department let me qualify thee!
1. Crazy people who own coffee carts: almost always fun to talk to because of their strong feelings about park control or dog rules. I swear I have met more people who work by the dog park and don't like dogs. I wonder what shennanigans these opportunists/masochists get into during their off hours.
2. GREAT BLUE MOTHERF-ING HERONS. Apparently park rangers protect the "roosting" during the winter. I'd say it can do whatever it wants anytime of the year because those things are huge and scary. And majestic and beautiful. Wow, the glory of nature!
3. Speaking of the weird and the wonderful, the pugs at Marymoor are out of control: serious contenders for porkiests and snortiest of breed. I like to take my pug there so he can see what he is in for if he doesn't watch the kibble and trash intake. He also feels special because he got a Pugoplasty for his very super sweet 16-week birthday.
4. Events: My #1 Celebrity Crush, Harry Connick Jr. (the dude from Copycat, *swoon*) played at Marymoor. He wore a black shirt, tight blue jeans, and a mischievous smile. He did his big band standards. He is so dreamy; it was truly a magical experience. The wine people also didn't cap me at a two drink maximum. Bonus!
5. Room: to park, spread out a blanket, throw a frisbee, catch a frisbee, fire one gun while jumping through the air, fire two guns whilst jumping through the air, shoot a gun up in the air and say ahhhhhhh. Or, just rollerblade in peace. -

I don't own a dog =(
But I totally go here and check out dogs. I love this place. It really is Dog Heaven. I come here with friends and we have the best time. It is a really good place to be outdoors, go for a walk and also exercise the baby.
I really wouldn't recommend this place for little kids since packs of dogs run everywhere. I've seen some epic stampedes. There is a pretty awesome park to the right where little ones can hang. -

This has to be the BEST dog park I have been to. The space is huge and gives you and your pooch a good workout for the afternoon. I was a little hesitant at first because it says that the area isn't gated but it does have fences around the perimeter and the only open areas are the entrances by the parking lots.
My puppy loved walking around and meeting all the other dogs. He was a little shy and didn't play much with the others but he did thoroughly enjoy the area and we will be back soon. -

The Off-Leash Area is HUGE! It is a mostly grassy area with mulch covered walking paths. There are also several openings into the water for dogs to go swimming in. The swimming area is not so muddy so you can walk by it with your dog without getting mud all over and there are short steps for dogs to enter into the water.
The only downfall to the park is that there are no gates. When I read reviews before visiting the dog park, I was slightly confused as to what people meant by no gates... So let me elaborate on this. The area is fenced in, however the entrances into the off-leash area are open, meaning that there are 4 foot gaps between fences near the parking area to allow the dogs and people to enter. The first time I came here, my puppy ran out of the off-leash area, following another dog and his owner out into the parking area. I had a hard time trying to catch him and this can become dangerous. So if you are driving in the parking lot next to the dog park, please drive slow and watch for dogs. This problem of dogs running out does not seem like a common issue however. Most dogs will stay in the off-leash area since it is quite large and it is where all the fun is.
There is also a do it yourself dog wash in the parking lot next to the dog park, in case your dog gets extra dirty.
I came to this dog park during winter, once on a sunny winter day and once on a overcast/drizzling day. My dog did not get that muddy, and you can pretty much get away with a good wipe down of your dog, assuming your dog doesn't go swimming or go into the areas marked off due to mud. So, don't be discouraged by a overcast day to take your dog to this dog park! :)
Note, there is a parking fee of $1 for the whole day. Pay at the machine and put the receipt in your car. Machine doesn't take card, but you can go to this expresso stand to pay for parking with your card. It's just easier if you bring a dollar bill or some quarters. -

The OLA at Marymoor Park is one of the best managed of all the parks in the Greater Seattle area. The long time Park Stewards, Jim & Judy, are the most devoted I've encountered. All 42 acres are tended to as needed. With this much room, overused sections can be closed off, and the grass given a chance to recover. During the late summer mounds of Hogg Fuel are a joy for the dogs. Then the volunteers come along, and spread the bark over the trails through out the park. This is the best walking surface in any dog park!
Thanks Jim & Judy! -

This place is doggie heaven!
I don't have a dog, but I took a walk here after getting overly stimulated by too many people at the Slavic festival and now I want everyone I know who has a dog to bring them here.
The place is HUGE, with a trail, many spots for the puppies to belly flop into the drink, and also some big tall grassy areas from them to romp. It is impeccably clean, and there is even a treat station if you wish to purchase some nibbles for your famished pups. They will definitely work up an appetite here, and probably pass out in the car on the way home. It is like puppy wonderland.
For me it was just relaxing to be able to watch them play. I love a pup! -

I enjoy Marymoor as much as the next dog-lover, but I don't understand why they can't put gates on the entrances. It's literally ten feet from play zone to parking zone, and there are no safety barriers. I have seen young and over-stimulated pups run out into the lot many times, and it always makes me cringe.
Anyway, my personal experiences: I absolutely love taking my corgi pup here. He is my shadow in big social situations like Marymoor, but he still greets every new dog with cheerful, butt-wiggling enthusiasm. It's fun for both of us, and he's always exhausted afterward. Yay!
I don't have such good feelings about the excursions that include my year-old border collie mix. He loves, loves, loves to play with other dogs, and he is also an amazing athlete, so this is truly heaven on earth for him. But he can be halfway across the park and out of listening range in the snap of your fingers. Because of the aforementioned gate situation, I find those situations to be extremely scary. Basically it's a flaw in me/my training, not in the park (hence four stars!), but I still wish that I could take him here without so much anxiety.
Oh well, there's always Robinswood, and perhaps soon we'll have that recall down perfectly...
In the meantime, Marymoor is a beautiful place, and one of the things I like best about the entire community. -

On the water areas, there is no sloping area for your dog but rock steps to the water, so if your dog isn't a swimmer they won't go in, head to magnuson for that.

I heart this park! Coming from California, it's amazing to see such an awesome space for dogs! This off leash area of the park is well maintained and the signage for dog owners were helpful. Amenities like free doggy bags and extra tennis balls are reasons why I am such a fan. Having said that, my two dogs also loved this park! They met plenty of other dogs and dog owners. Pick up though after your dog as this is one of the reasons why we get to enjoy this awesome park!

It's official! The votes have been cast. There are no chads on the ballots. Yelpers were divided to describe Marymoor's off leash park with two words: Big or Huge! Big FTW. Regardless, the park brings out the size queen in all dog lovers.
The park is so huge the walking paths are visible from outer space, second only to China's Great Wall.
The park is so big the water's edge is the doggie version of the Pacific coast.
The park is so huge dogs get lost in the open fields and think they're either in heaven (for the Christian canines), nirvana (for the Buddhist yappers), or the open fields (for the atheists).
The park is so big even the free poop bags come in endless rolls, just like at your grocery's produce section.
Now for a tiny PSA on what's big in my list: A small turd can ruin a nice day. You know who you are. The one who looks left and right and pretend you didn't see your dog assume the poop position. All of us can see it a mile away. If you're too good to pick up after your dog, a Scooby Doo chia pet may be a better companion. I'm just saying....Chi-chi-chi-chia! -

A game of "Would you rather?' can get quite interesting when SR 520 is involved.
Q: Would you rather eat nails or drive on 520 at 5:00pm?
A: I have a tough stomach. Pass the nails, please.
Q: Would you rather wake up looking like Jocelyn Wildenstein or drive on 520 during your free time?
A: Call me Cat Woman!
Q: Would you rather go to a dog park a few blocks from your house for a pretty a-okay time or would you rather drive all the way to Redmond on 520 to the MOST AMAZING dog park EVER?
A: Marymoor, here we come.
You get the idea. Despite being on the eastside, despite that I may encounter traffic, despite that the trek involves driving on 520, Marymoor wins the "Best Dog Park EVER" award. There's really no contest. You can't compete with acres upon acres of open fields, swimming holes galore (with stone steps to avoid a muddy ride home), well maintained trails and benches and extra balls and clean up bags galore.
If all dogs go to heaven, I can only imagine that they're praying it's a little like Marymoor.Listed in: Pooch places

Review from DAVID L.
This is a very well maintained park. The off leash section for dogs is huge and great for large and medium dogs so they have a large area to run around. However, for my Chihuahua/Terrier Mix (ie. 13 lbs), this is not the best of places for them to run off leash. My Chihuahua/Terrier got run over by some kind of St.Bernard-like size dog and a brown lab retriever (this pretty much traumatized him the rest of the day). My Beagle was able to hold its own though and enjoy both the park and fellow dogs.
Word of caution: If you have a big dog, this park is not fenced in, so you will have to pay attention that they do not run off too far.
The only thing this park is missing is a small enclosed area for small dogs. We drove 45 minutes to this park and it is well worth the drive if you're looking for a large off leash park. -

**computer slowly translates dog language into English**
Me [Gunner] & my bro, Gomez, love Marymoor. There are tons of dogs there, and we get to run around with them and cause all kinds of heck. The water areas are really cool. Our legs are too small, so we mainly just watch the BIG water dogs run & gun into the water after tennis balls. Last time we went the water areas were fenced off. This was because of a salmon run. We could just see the salmon jumping and splashing upstream--they were HUGE!
This park is huge. There's all kinds of nooks & crannies we've yet to explore. Can't wait for our next visit!
Oh, my pet human likes the place too. HIS brother said the park reminded him of the Cantina Scene in Star Wars---all kinds of funky dogs walking around doing their own thing. :)

Marymoor for the city dog has got to be doggy paradise: grassy landscapes, trails, flowing water, open spaces filled with other dogs... and the occasional duck.
We were disappointed our first visit unaware of the lack of fence, but returned once once my pup improved his 'recall' skills. It was truly a beautiful day in the park. Here's our highs and lows:
Highlights:
+ beautiful SPACE
+ variety: dogs, people, landscapes x10
+ multiple water areas
+ well maintained grounds
+ ample parking
+ garbage, poop bags and benches readily available
Low down:
- parking is $1 (or risk $150 fine)
- owners 50/50 at picking up after pups
- not enclosed
- beware of the 'off-leash' aspect of the parking lot: drive slow
I have 2 BIG grips with Marymoor that will keep us away:
1. it isn't fully fenced and with so many little, inter-winding areas... heaven help me if I sneeze, giving my border collie exactly .3 seconds to rounded a corner in another direction. Sure he'll come back eventually, but what if that other direction was high speed into the parking lot? Clearly they've spent a lot of $$ keeping dogs out of certain areas, can't they put a little into keeping the dogs *in* the dog park?
2. Way, waaay, WAAAY too many parents bringing their little kids run around with little or no supervision. I'm not talking about parents with kids + dogs; but the random families coming to wander around who appeared to have left their common sense in the car.
I had seen this 3-4x at Magnuson, but it was horrendous at Marymoor. It's dangerous to assume all dogs are great with kids. There are quite a few dogs who were down-right kid-unfriendly. These parents didn't seem to see any problem allowing their kids to attempt to take toys from strange dogs (!!!) or allowing them tossing handfuls of gravel at dogs! Oh joy!
This isn't a 'kid off leash zone' peoples!
Kid play area is on the other end of the park. kthxbye!Listed in: Dog Parks, Dog Parks! Get Your…

This is doggy heaven on earth. It's huge, well-maintained, has water holes for those aquadogs, large open spaces for chucket launching, and usually has a healthy variety of dogs for the ever-important socialization factor. Human socialization is pretty high, too, as everyone likes to talk about their doggies as they all play together.
Granted, it's on the Eastside, so it entails driving to Redmond. However, on a weekend when there's little traffic and beaucoup dogs, it's totally worth it. A tired dog is a good dog...Listed in: Good Doggie!

This is my favorite off leash dog park...
-it's HUGE (lots of wiggle room)
-Lots of balls (hiding)
-Lake
-Free poop bags
-Cleaner then other parks
To Kongii... dog parks are really BALL PARKS. He could careless about the dogs around him... he just wants to play fetch. It's his preference that I can't change. He's like the unofficial ball detective. We'll go to the park empty handed and walk away with five tennis balls (which then we leave at the gate in the extra balls basket). This park is a lot cleaner then the off leashed parks near our house. I don't mind the drive because he loves it here. I have to come prepare when we come here. Must bring water, water bowl, and lots of towels. And possible trip to the self wash stations afterwards.
I don't recommend this park for little dogs since this park mostly attracts large dogs.Listed in: WA off-leashed dog park

I wish my dog was not a completely anti social spawn of satan or I'd bring him here all the time. Ok he's not the spawn of satan but he's pretty antisocial, except to me obviously. My previous dog loved this place I still remember taking him there when he was a puppy. He'd run top speed around the fielded areas and chase dogs three times his size into the little river to my dismay and that of my cars uphoulstery.
The dogs I run into here are always so very happy, the people who frequent it are friendly and the place is AMAZINGLY well kept.Listed in: Best of My Best, If I were a tourist...

I'm not sure how I feel about this place. I like that it's spacious and there was a lot of room to run around and play. I didn't like that it was so spacious that there were so many dog-walkers around.
It's a give and take, because it's really hard for a dog-walker to have that many dogs and still pay attention to everyone. When we got there, I saw two dogs start jumping on top of each other and instead of the dog-walker yelling or getting in the way he took his chuck it and threw it at the dogs, hitting the dogs, and that's how he stopped the fight. Are you serious? Ok, so that's not really the park's fault...but I just feel like it's really overwhelming that situations like this occurs where dog gets out of control and people start acting stupid.
I wish there was a gate like other dog parks between the parking lot and the fields...because I saw a few dogs running out to the parking lot and it made my heart jump. I also couldn't find any water bowls for the life of me. -

The best off leash dog park in Seattle - hands down! It's acres and acres of different terrains so that your favorite pooch can run til he/she can't run anymore!
There're fields for playing ball, water spots for swimming, bark covered trails for walks - not to mention --
LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF DOGGY DOGS!!! And all of them are happy and you can pet them and your dog can be social - it's wonderful!
Plus, if you're a yuppie, you can have your dog cleaned after they play because there's usually a dog grooming van there. -

Despite my complete lack of direction and bone-headed driving skills which considerably lengthened what should have been a quick jaunt to Marymoor - the trip was still absolutely worth it! Let's just say I got an unintended tour of the eastside while driving on the wrong freeway. Luckily my dog took it well and seemed to be a happy camper with her new buddy this weekend once we finally made it to Marymoor.
This place is HUGE! For once, you aren't staring at the gates or hearing the sound of cars whizzing by on the freeway while the dogs play. The trails are clean and nicely maintained. The other dogs are really friendly and everyone played well with others. Anything that makes my dog happy like Marymoor Park did, makes me even happier. While my girl isn't usually the biggest water dog, she was happy to get right into the river when it was hot out this weekend. I liked that there were several entries into the water, some less crowded then others. Once we found a nice calm spot, we all enjoyed a nice wade in the river to cool off. And because the off leash area is so large, everyone was dry by the time we were ready to go. A little bit farther out that the usual, but still worth the trip.
