Review from Paul B.
San Francisco, CA
If you are tired of driving around the central portion of California, or even the western half of the United States for that matter, looking for great Assyrian snacks and cooking goods, then park your car at Mary-Ann's. Not only do they have the BEST fresh bread, but they also carry a wide assortment of BUTTER rich sweets...YUMMY. Every time I come into town I stop by Mary-Ann's, the friendly owners make going in feel like you just stepped into your cousins house, except you don't need to take off your shoes! It's great... I totally recommend going, try some seeds, get some chai, and bring your Mom home something sweet.

Review from SatisFahYing A.
Oakland, CA
This place supplies all the other Assyrian groceries in the area with lavash flat bread and pita bread in both white and wholewheat - hearty and tasty with just the right amount of chew and structure to hold hefty portions of filling.
Non-descript outside, inside the tiny mart stocks interesting and hard to find items on it's dark, cramped and crowded shelves. After a brief browse I found the following:
dried lemons for ghormeh sabzi
date paste
pomegranate paste (essential for fesanjun) & pomegrante molasses
fig molasses
Plus all the standard stuff
rice
rosewater
bulghur wheat
walnuts etc.
Not worth a special trip, but if you're in the area and need supplies this is definitely an option.
