BE WARNED!!! Martin Rentals (Ms. Wanda Liles - Owner) are crooks and con artist in hiding. They rent to college students and pile on unwarranted fees and expenses that are incorrect or complete fabrications. When a student renter goes into office to address issue they are treated unfairly and basically told to leave the office... when they reach out to their parent, Ms. Liles hides behind the "your child is an adult and the lessor and we can only talk to them"... This is her way to extort money from renters.
My son, along with three roommates, rented from them and moved into a house with multiple issues. Paid a $250.00 deposit that was not returned to them for damage that they never did to the home. We photographed the residence upon arriving and documented issues through their stay and even contacted the actual home owner about the issues... she was actually screwing the home owner by double billing them for expenses they were also charging to renters.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! She will steal money from you and you will have no other recourse than to sue her to get your money back and she will fire off a letter from there Pre-Paid Legal service to try to scare you.
We are going to sue her for the deposits and the fees she charged erroneously, as well as all interests and expenses!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Johnathan J.Martin, TN01Aug 3, 2015First to Review
I wish I could be an advocate for this locally run and operated business as it is incredibly important for small town development however my experience has been much less than satisfactory.
I rented with Martin Rentals for only a 4 month period but have been renting property in the martin area for the past 4 years without an issue. Without going down the laundry list of issues I had with Martin Rentals such as having to pay them for my water utilities and splitting that 3 ways with other tennants while there being a massive water leak that went unfixed for an entire month, recieving an eviction notice for ciggarette butts in a parking lot where there are 16 other tennants when I dont smoke, and recieving an affidavit and notice of eviction, with my name on it, to appear in court for non payment of rent when it was a "technical error" and was meant for the nieghbors. Also,
not to mention the numerous times that a representative has walked into the house unannounced while I was home.
This pales in comparison to the other horror stories I have heard. You would think a business would try to improve customer relations and not try to actively take advantage of college age students especially. If youve had a bad experience its time to speak up. Bad business.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Temple H.Milan, TN770201Nov 4, 2015
If I could rate this company a ZERO I would. Absolutely unprofessional, rude, unorganized, and the worst rental company I've ever been involved with. They will rip you off and steal your deposits! Avoid this company at all costs.

This place is not a great business at all. I've know countless bad stories from tons of friends of how they run things here. They also are allowed to come into your home without any notice at all. I had a friend that was in the shower just to come out with maintenance men in their place. They tend to never give back your deposit either because they will find the tiniest excuses to keep it.
