I stayed here for a night after attending a wedding at The Bridges Golf Club.  It was a bit difficult to find at night because its not on the main road.

The room was quite nice.  We had a super comfy king sized bed with lots of fluffy pillows( http://static.px.yelp.... ).  Usually, its hard for me to fall asleep in hotels, but I was out like a light!  The setup was a bit odd though.  The tv was on the right side of the bed, so you had to turn to watch it.  The bathroom had toiletries from Bath & Body Works, and not any of those generic hotel brands.

The hotel let us do a late checkout at 3pm on Sunday.  We woke up early enough to go to brunch, and then we were going to go for a swim in the pool.  When we got back to the hotel, we ended up watching tv and passing out, so we didn't get to make use of the pool.

The staff was quite friendly.  Everyone we passed by greeted us and always had a smile on their face.  Great service!  Definitely 5 stars for service!

I had to dock a star for parking.  They actually charge for parking!  You either valet your car or park it in the lot, but you still have to pay.  This is San Ramon, and not SF.....I don't think they should be charging when they're out in the middle of nowhere.

Okay, it's clean and fairly well appointed...as any Marriott should be. Yay. That said, if you're spending $180 - $220 per night in the middle of nowhere, is it really necessary to charge $10 per night for parking? And $12 for Internet? And all you get when you pay that $12 is a 6' long ethernet cable. No WiFi. We're approaching 2010, people. Seriously, it's barely more than 2 months away. Space Odyssey time, people. But alas, if you want to do some work from bed while you're watching the boxy, non-flat screen, non-HD TV, then you better bring a 15' cable with you.

Let's see, what else...no mini-bar, but they DO have mp3 jacks on the little alarm clocks. So DJ to your heart's content on those booming systems. And it's quiet. Far enough from 680 that you can hardly hear the traffic, and it's also convenient to Target and Whole Paycheck if you need some organic granola or a cell phone charger. Or, a 15' ethernet cable. For cheaper than 24 hours of hotel internet will cost you.

Now mind you, I would never stay here for any reason other than business. And that being the case, everything is on an expense account...but it still irritates the hell out of me when they nickel and dime you for everything. And given all the revenue they've been pulling in for years by charging for all that should be included in their inflated rates, there's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be rocking a blazing WiFi network and flat panel HDs.

Soooo, from now on it's the Sheraton or the Hilton down the freeway. That is all.

It's a pretty hotel and there's nothing blatantly wrong with it but there are many small things that just aren't right such as the layout of each room, the comfort (or lack) of the beds.  It seems odd to have what is a well-appointed room that is still equipped with a tube television.

Hotel is a bit difficult to find.  Expect to pay for parking.  Staff is excellent but overall the hotel doesn't quite cut it.  There are far better options out there for the price.

2 stars for their chintzy penny-pinching
$10 for parking
$12.95/day for internet
$1.75/cup for lobby coffee
only 1 coffee packet for one cup in-room coffee maker
no WiFi in rooms

The Residence Inn or Courtyard are better

I stayed on the 5th fl at this beautiful Marriott hotel earlier in July 2009. This Marriott is absolutely beautiful. The location, my balcony view, the room, parking, and service. I stayed there for a special event.

The Internet was actually free for the time I was staying there. I just enjoyed my time at the hotel and that special lounge room they had on my floor. Besides all of my friends that stayed there, the event that went, the hotel was one thing I would remember. I would go back and stay there if I was back in San Ramon again. It was really nice. It wasn't pricey either.

What a great venue for a conference! Seriously. San Ramon is almost a respectable city by the Urban Socialite's standards because of the Bishop Ranch area. I can only review the conference amenities though because my life is just way too scandalous and interesting to require me to stay in a hotel room in San Ramon of all places. I mean, come on, I have at least another 20 years before I have to be a cougar cruising "Cougar Dens" such as Sh'Boom for a crazy night out... But I just got back from speaking at the American Society for Microbiology meeting and had a great experience.

But seriously though....

The downstairs is quite large and has many different and tastefully-decorated conference rooms that are perfect for comfortable seating and AV presentations. The bathrooms are nice and clean. There is a restaurant in the hotel; it was closed when I was there though. There are large windows all around the bottom story that look out to some pretty impressive landscaping...again, by suburban standards.

Catering is available and the food is actually decent. This is important for me because if you expect me to wake up early on a Saturday after a night of debauchery at Coach, tart myself up so that I don't look like the hung over trash that I felt like, and drive out to suburbia just to pretend not to regret majoring in biochemistry and being a defacto nerd that is more or less undateable by 99.999999997% of the male population, then you better feed my fat ass. But seriously though, I had a great mixed green salad, continental breakfast, chicken pasta thingie (vegetarian options availble too), and a tiramisu-ish cake. Yum.

Under normal circumstances, you would have to pay for parking. I know, paid parking in San Remote. Trash. But conference people get validated parking. At that, the lot is pretty large and there is also valet parking available.

It is right near Peet's and Whole Foods. It is very important to mention that it is right by Peet's because this hotel for some reason was only coughing out free STARBUCKS. Bleh. That coffee tastes nastier than "dirt that's been %$#@ed by a hobo"-Patton Oswalt...so I can untraumatize/detox myself with the nearby Peet's.

Again, I did not stay in the hotel. However, I know for a fact that Marriott makes the most %$#@ing comfortable beds; I always look for Marriotts when I go on vacation. But seriously, if you are in a position to host a conference and need a nice venue that is easy to get to, check this place out.

OMG, I may have actually just written a legitimately useful review.

didn't actually stay at this hotel.  just came for a 'geek convention' registration... and walked around the lobby area and 'convention' area...

there were a lot of people at the hotel that friday evening... many were obviously there for the convention but i'm sure something else was going on too because there were other more 'refined' lookin' people there hanging out by the check-in area lounge as well.

looked like a pretty clean and decent hotel.  i'm sure it's mostly used for various company and work functions than 'tourist' related people....

This is an above average Marriott and I've enjoyed several stays here. The beds are wonderful and all the rooms I've been in were extremely quiet. You can often get a great rate (under $50) if you book through Priceline. The location is ideal, right off the freeway and next door to Target, Whole Foods and Borders. If you do stay here, however, be aware of the HIDDEN FEES, such as $10 for internet and a punishing $15 for parking. These extra charges are OK if you're getting a Priceline deal, but if you're paying the regular rate (anywhere from $150 - $200) those hidden fees really hurt.
PS (2/28/08) I stayed here again Monday night. In my room there was a notepad with the corporate logo on it and little sayings printed in the margin. The one I noticed the other night read: "Leave a trail of genius". My question is, how did the Marriott Corporation know that
I write for Yelp?

Disclaimer: I did not stay here, but my Grandmother did while she was visiting last week. The room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable and above all, they put up with her-and all of her needs, complaints, etc.

The staff here is spectacular. I can't give a 5 star review as I did not stay here, but they took great care of my Grandma.

This is coming from someone who worked in hospitality for over 5 years:

Considering the location (san ramon is not really a vacation/business/"hot" spot) this hotel deserves 4 stars. The rooms are nice, the price is excellent, and the layout is totally clean and appealing.

The bar staff was sincere and very attentive. The agents at the front desk are young & a little ghetto but they definitely try to be attentive. AYS (the phone operator) could have used some training on service... lol. I asked about a local pub/bar/brewery to go to and all she could come up with was Applebee's. hmm, age being a factor possibly? lol. Well, everything was great, and I have to say the romance package is well worth it! The chocolate covered strawberries are verrrrry tasty (being that I've had them just about everywhere that says a lot! lol!!). The champagne was 'no-name' but all the same it was sweet and went well with the fruit :). I would have to say the highlight is their bar which has a nice layout for small groups, and also the rooms... loved the color scheme of the rooms! very relaxing!

I have stayed here multiple times and still have no problem with it. In fact, I always get excited when staying here. The food is good. The service is excellent. But the real reason I love staying here are the beds. The beds are amazing! They're very comfortable and very "fluffy." I love the beds and each time I stay here, I always get the best sleep. Boo for the $10 parking fee and wi-fi charge. But overall, GREAT hotel.

So I crashed a Wedding party here with a friend and ended up spending the night in one of their room cuz we was too drunk to drive home...well, that and I forgot where we parked the car.

The next morning I woke up to find there's no toothbrushes in our room. I was like 'damn, I'll just take a shower then' when I realized there were no complimentary soap in the bathroom either; only ONE hella hard soap bar for a two bed unit. WTF? So I called room service to have them bring the missing items up. Well 5 minutes turned into 10, which then turned into 20 minutes before the items were brought up. I had to call them twice to get the freakin items. (negative 1 star).

Another (negative 1 star) for NOT providing free wi-fi. Marriott wanted to charge $9.95 for internet access. At least the continental breakfast was good.

The bathtub had grab bars, which was a nice amenity.

This weekend me and the BF decide to come down to the Bay Area. We are both from here, before the move to Nevada. I like it here out in the nice safe suburbs. Yeah, I'm from Oaktown, and I really just wanna visit it sometimes, not stay there....anyhow we bid the hotel on http://priceline.com and got the room for $50 a night! I was told the reg price on the weekends was $99. I asked the front desk what was the lowest price I could have bid and was told they would have taken $40 on the weekends. Cool less the Motel 6 for a 3 star hotel. Now for the bad news, THEY CHARGE $10 A NIGHT FOR PARKING! and ther is no where else to park on the street. and then its another $10 a day for internet in the room....but free wifi in the lobby. I have stayed at this level of hotels for lots of work trips and they always have at least coffee and maybe doughnuts in the lobby....but this place has nothing. If I was paying full ticket I'd really not like the place. The rooms are smaller then I thought they might be for this level of place...like I said ok for the price we paid. The beds were really nice.all soft and fluffy, geat for a good time...oh yeah...Still pisse me off no free internet in the room. There is a coffee maker in the room but its really shit coffee...as always.....Well, ok since we took my car...maybe it was ok to pay the $10 to park...its a closed lot. So the big tip with this place is GO TO PRICELINE.COM and bid $40 a night. They will add tax which was $13 on a 50 dollar bid, maybe that includes something to priceline. The place is passing for the deal, no way pay full price.

This review is for Stix and Steaks, the restaurant in the hotel.

I came here for a surprise party last weekend and while the ambiance is very classy, the food is lacking.  The servers were very sweet and I believe English to be their third language, because communication was incredibley difficult.  The servers tried to be as accomodating as possible but it just didnt cut it.  The appetizers were luke warm and bland.  We had these spicy wonton things that were pretty good and then a quesadilla that I know I could have made better.  Their wine list is extensive and appropriately so, however, the food selection is very basic and uneventful.
I had the shrimp and asparagus linguine thing and it was sooooo bland!!  it was sooo dry!!  The shrimp tasted like they were defrosted in the fridge and the few spruces of asparagus, or garnish I am not sure, were tasteless.  The birthday girl ordered the same thing and sent hers back for lack of everything.  I didn't want to make a big deal, despite the waitor's request to let him know if anything needed anything, or if he could fix anything...very kind but I don't thin a lil oil and garlic could have fixed this problem.  My boyfriend ordered a club sandwhich and said it was very dry...and he didn't even finish it!!  He always finishes his food!!!  Very shocking!!  I won't come back here but maybe for a drink.  I had their house champagne and it was delicous... and like I aforementioned, the service was sweet.

I've stayed at this hotel at least once every summer for the last few year, and have always had a great experience.  The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean.  The bed is simply heavenly, and the few fusion items we've ordered from their room service menu has been delicious. An overall great experience, and if you happen to use priceline to book your hotel like us and end up here... hurray for a fantastic hotel at an unbeatable price!

I stay in this hotel once every May when putting on the Devil Mountain Run in nearby Danville.  The room was big, clean and comfortable with new thick, plush beds.  Members from our staff either liked the beds or not; some thought these were too soft.  I usually have trouble sleeping in hotels, but I fell asleep quickly this year.  They kind of overdid it with the big, plush pillows though.  I had to throw some overboard to keep from suffocating in the middle of the night.  Very comfortable stay though, and because the hotel sponsors the event, the rooms are discounted.  This hotel is within walking distance of a Target store, a Whole Foods supermarket and many fine restaurants located in the Shops of Bishop Ranch community.  The hotel pool is currently undergoing reconstruction/renovation.  The huge outdoor parking lot is always full which indicates the popularity of this hotel.  The Devil Mountain Run is an annual charity event that benefits Children's Hospital and Research Center of Oakland.  San Ramon Marriott rocks for being an annual sponsor!
