My room actually has functional AC this time. The carpet is still old and smelly. The hallways are still not ventilated. The vending machine still has no water.
I'm going to give it one more star for slightly more helpful staff and a great concierge lounge. At least I can go up to the concierge lounge to get water when it opens at 6am. It also has pretty decent continental breakfast. It's a very cozy room.
For $139 a night without any special discount, this is still the cheapest Marriott I know.

Really not bad of a hotel - would stay there again.

Pros:
* Contemporary room & bathroom; comfy beds.
* Very clean and tidy.
* Complimentary PC/Internet access in the lobby.
* Hotel parking is free.
* Luetta, the concierge, was very friendly & helpful.
* Walking distance to: AMC theater & Outback Steakhouse.
* Less than 1 mile to: Target mall & other restaurants.
* Close to the I-5 freeway.

Cons:
* Can hear a hint of I-5 freeway traffic - may be a little noisy for some people.

Had a contemporary lobby, just like the ones on their commercials.  Definately made for the business traveler.  Easy freeway access.  But a little too close to it, the freeway noise is noticeable.  There's a movie theater and a few restaurants, including an Outback, that's of walking distance.  Not in the safest of areas but its right next to a police station.  Staff was very attentive.

This hotel has had recent renovations and remodeling. The bathroom is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The room and bathroom are spacious. The wallpaper is classy, the room is super clean! You get bath and body works (citrus and ginger scent) amenities, and there is a coffee pot  and hairdryer in the room. Not to mention is it very spacious... did I already say that?!?

Lobby is also very beautiful and classy. To use the business center is free. Parking is free. Staff is friendly. Location is excellent. I would DEFINITELY come back!

This hotel is generally filled with business people because of its proximity to the convention center, but on many a nights, I've managed to get a great deal here. In fact, the few times we've stayed here have all been either internet deals or the hotel's own special late night deals which were all around the $80 mark per night.

In the area you wouldn't find anything better than this Marriott. The rooms are comfortable and service pretty good. It's located right by a police station so you don't have to worry about the crime rate as you would elsewhere.

If you had to be in this area, this is a good choice if you can get a good rate.

Funny- I read a recent review that had just the opposite experience as me.  Sue's room had a recently renovated bathroom (but not living space) and my bedroom is brand spaking new (still smells a bit like paint), but the bath is obviously a few years old.  Seems like they're doing the renovation piecemeal.  New room has new flat screen TV (though without the HD programming that is starting to pop up at competitor's hotels).  Hotel screwed up my reservation and gave me 2 queens when I wanted 1 king, but I won't ding them for that since some floors were still under construction- plus- the desk staff was so dang friendly (including a 'welcome home hug') that I didn't have the heart to complain.  Bath & Body works amenities are a nice touch- I plan to take mine home- and the location is freeway close and as centrally located (to Norwalk) as you could wish for.  Free parking is good, but steep price for Internet access is annoying (no 5 star place will charge me an extra $12 to check my e-mail!!).  I mean, it's free at Motel 6.....

Nice looking place with no complaints. I had a large king suite on the corner of the hotel so i got 2 good views of the 5 freeway. Place was fairly quiet and clean and within walking distance of a movie theater and a Outback steakhouse. Room was the standard fare with a sofa, desk, 27" TV and several chairs etc. No hesitations if I had to return. Downside, they still charge for Internet service and they are hidden from the street by the theater and City Hall.

I've never been to a 1-star Marriott until I visited this hunk of junk.  The service here is terrible!  Seems like they picked up folks from McDonald's and threw them on the front lines.  (no offense to McDonald's because the service there is better).  On my first stay I requested a fridge 3 different times and 3 different times I was ignored.  I also had an article of clothing missing but they just gave me the run around and never followed-up with my concerns.  This place blows... if I wasn't here on business I would rather stay at a Motel 6!
