Review from Kevin D.
Fremont, CA
Came here for an enormous business event my company hosted. We invite like 800 pastors from around the bay for lunch/breakfast.
The company got us rooms so I can't comment if its overpriced or not. The hotel itself is gorgeous when you walk in. Its very modern. Kindof like a funky vodka bar with a hotel in in it. When you go upstairs to the rooms, it shows its age more. Not exactly awful, but lets just call it a "classic hotel" look. Ya know, ugly carpets with flowers on them and gaudy light fixtures in the hallways.
Then oddly enough, the rooms are nice and new and modern. Seriously - pick a theme and go with it.
They served 500+ chicken entree's to our guests. They looked really nice and smelled amazing - small portions because it was kindov haute' cuisine. (previously the food was not so great, it was much better this time)
I give it 4 stars and not 3 because even staff were so helpful. When we needed furniture in the hallways moved...they moved it. When we needed 20+ tables for our vendors to peddle their wares, they had them out in a snap and with table cloths!
There was even a guy Edward (not a vampire) who helped me breakdown at least 200+ empty boxes.
Also, our rooms were clean and modern looking and the bar is really, really cool looking. -

I'm here for a conference.
1) the food served for dinner was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't even eat the roasted chicken - I was gagging on how dry it was. Even the mashed potatos were awful. They didn't even really taste like potatos! I think the instant boxed whipped potatos might even taste better. The dessert was just pure sugar, it looked pretty, but there was no dimension to the cake. If you plan on holding a wedding here- DON'T do it. The food is the worst hotel food I have ever eaten. I got married at a Marriott in DC and it was amazing- so I think the issue is with this particular kitchen.
2) I couldn't figure out how to get on the internet because the front desk people told me that I needed to put in my last name and room number, but yet every time I went online, I didn't have the option to do that! I finally found out from another attendee of the show what the secret password is.
3) The positives- the strawberry water in the lobby, but it was only there on the first day.
4) The bed was VERY comfortable
5) One of the phones in the room did not work
6) There is no vent in the bathroom, so if someone drops a deuce--- everyone in the room is subject to the toxic scent
7) No outdoor pool- that stinks- I wanted to enjoy the Cali weather poolside, but apparently that was not an option.
8) at $139 a night- it's not cheap- and the bathrooms wallpaper was peeling -

This is a nice and new Marriott. While we were there, they were setting up the business center with new computers and printers, along with new furniture. The rooms are modernly decorated and spacious. The TV was lacking for how new the hotel was as it was a 32" flatscreen. No biggie though. There is an indoor pool and the gym was well above average for a hotel. Free weights, and a ton of universal machines in addition to the treadmills and elypticals.
The location is right off the 880 and parking is easy with both a lot and a garage if that gets full. Parking is also free, which is huge. The Concierge Lounge for all the Gold and Platinum members is average and the service all is around is excellent. Perfect for the business traveler! -

Been back many times since my original review and lots before that. The place is still solid, always nice people working here. My room was ready on time, the bar became my home away from home.

New renovations - looks nice. Better service - i think NOT! Again, front desk still asks for my guests credit card after I paid for it. This happens EVERY time even when I speak to a manager to assure that they won't they still do! If they weren't so conveniently located I would use someone else! BTW - they are OVERPRICED!!!

This Hotel was very clean, new, modern and the staff were very friendly. They provided a shuttle to me and my wife free of charge and the driver was hilarious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in the bay!!!

San Jose, CA
Basically,
1) the staff was kind and helpful
2) pool and spa was indoor (and well maintained)
3) the fitness center was one of the best I've seen in a hotel (treadmills, ellipticals, bench press, seated row machine, lat pull down machine, leg machines, etc.)
4) the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable
5) the hotel food is kind of a rip off being that it's nothing special, small portions, and pricey.
6) there's not much to look at, eat, or do around the hotel, but it's not far from anything.
I'd stay here again. -

Class now in session. Pay attention. Fremont is a dump so avoid Fremont at all costs. Travel about 15 minutes south or north and stay in San Jose (Doubletree) or Pleasanton (Four Points Sheraton) as well as many other good hotels in Pleasanton. The Fremont Marriott is the same boring corporate hotel concept, sterile with a stupid "Grand Room" restaurant along with stupid decor. RIP OFF at $205/night AAA rate. Nothing around here except gas stations and business parks. The best thing is a fast elevator to get you to your tiny boring room.

Clean Hotel w/ friendly staff although the check in process was pretty slow. Rooms were nothing special but were clean. Over-priced. Easy to get to location. During my stay I noticed a lot of kids running around and it was noisy even from my room. I tried to call room service for champagne but they were out of the top champagne and only had the third one down on the list which I ordered and room service took at least 40 min or more. I will not be back and can't say I would recommend either.

My husband has been an Elite member for years. We came to the hotel on our wedding night - so I walked in in my big, fluffy, white wedding dress, and my husband was in his tux. The attendant was nice and gave us a quiet "congratulations" while handing us the keys.
We were given a room with the *weirdest* floor plan ever invented. You came in to a corridor that was so tight I could barely walk alone with my wedding dress. What were they thinking? My poor husband tried to get me through the door - no way. I was barely able to make it by trying to hold onto every layer of my dress. Then the space around the bed was extremely tight, which made it very hard to walk to a chair...
I was extremely disappointed that they wouldn't think to give us a nicer - if not more navigable - room on our wedding night.
I would advise soon to be wed to not step foot in that hotel. -
Review from Sascha M.
Typical Marriott, stayed at during the wedding festivities. The rooms are clean and adequate, I wish they were a little newer. The fitness center is fairly large and empty so I was able to get in morning workouts. Everyone working here went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating which is definitely a huge plus. One nights of the wedding was here and they did a good job decorating, allowing family and friends to take pictures longer, etc..

For sure, the staff here is beyond nice. I came for a lame notary
Renewal exam (California requires that before we take the refresher
Exam we must complete a lame 6 hour course. Content designed for
Monkeys).
Obviously, I wasn't a happy camper knowing that I had to sacrifice a
Nice Saturday listening to crap that I already knew.
Then I groggily entered this lobby and was ambushed by niceness.
Some Marriotts are owned by Mormons and Mormons seem pretty
Unaffected by bitchy attitudes and eager to show you how nice they
Can be. I managed to find a few spare breaks, invaded a random
Korean wedding reception, grabbed a drink, ran outside and then
Sunned my shoulders.
All in a day's work.
Sadly, the test wasn't administered until 5 pm. Finished in 10 mins.
Sucks to have wasted the day at a hotel with such little to show. -

The staff was so nice, I was sitting in lobby and manager asked if I needed anything and I asked if I could sit in the bar (which was closed) and order food and I could watch TV , I just thought they went the extra "mile"

On Brad's 28th birthday (awhile ago), I took him to this hotel for a weekend getaway. I had arranged everything with the hotel, so that when Brad entered the room there would be
a) 28 Silver balloons floating around the room with streamers
b) A large figurine balloon in the shape of a 2 and an 8 on one side of the wall.
c) A large happy birthday banner
d) a large whipped cream and strawberry birthday cake with candles on the table surrounded by boxes of gifts
With the staff's attentiveness to detail and my request for something special, they made sure the room quality was perfect and that his day was going to be extravagant. I appreciated everything they did and the extent of their excellent customer service to assure me that it would be perfect and flawless.
This hotel has an indoor pool and a wonderful jacuzzi.
The restaurant makes wonderful steaks and has a wonderfully crafted breakfast buffet. -
Review from Anjali V.
Overall, the room was clean, the service was nice, and we also liked the jacuzzi area was open late (until 11pm). ... However, you had to pay a fee to get internet access ($12) in the room and you also had to pay ($11) for breakfast- these are two things we didn't like because we have stayed at competitors of Marriott and even they served the breakfast and had internet included in the price. Also, although they gave you lots of pillows, they were these over-sized "hard" pillows that left my neck hurting all the next day. I would stay again because the customer service was great and overall we had a nice rested stay.It worked out overall..and for less then 60 bucks for the night.. it's hard to complain.
Having been forced to eat out, we discovered a wonderful eatery called The Original Pancake house not far from the hotel. It was amazing! Also a placed called Falafel Etc.. that had incredible chicken wraps.

I'm stuck staying here tonight and tommorow because our house is being exterminated for Termites.
I scored a standard room on priceline for $50. (GO TO PRICELINE! and save buckoo bucks and http://biddingfortrave... to research how to bid).
My room doesn't have a great view. But, its nice! Its clean, has a flat screen tv.
Its next to the freeway and near a business park and nothing spectacular.
The indoor pool is great and I got a to go order from "The Hub" downstairs. The fried artichokes were delish!!
Overall, if you can get a deal on this place, its well worth the money. There are not many choices in Fremont. But this is doable. -

Comfortable, clean rooms with great beds and TV's. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are great. The weekend rates (as of the time of this writing) can't be beat. If you need to stay somewhere in Fremont, this is your place.

When i come to the EBay for work or other events, i will usually crash here. The hotel is a pretty standard Marriott with all the amenities. Its never packed out and allows me to get quick check in and no lines for workout. The only big thing that i hate is that theres really nothing to do around here but thats not the hotels fault, just strip mall central in the Fremont area.

Attended a wedding reception here and was pleasantly surprised by the facilities. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but is conveniently located right off the 880. Your guests arent getting lost, that's for sure.
No one broke into my car, but it's old and has a tape deck only. A tape deck? No one's stealing that. -

A functional hotel in the middle of no where. It's clean and neat, and that's exactly why I stay here when I'm in town.

Review from Kevin S.
I spent a weekend at this Marriott earlier this month, March 14-16.
The walls here are very thin, so if you're having a conversation (or other activity) late at night, you could annoy your neighbor very easily. Had a corner room but still managed to annoy the room next door.
The amenities in the room? Not bad. Nice with the 32 in LCD tv. But idiots didn't have HD as part of their package, so only local channels in HD. Why have an HDtv without the HD package?
The bed was very comfy, as you would expect in a Marriott.
Didn't have the same issue with noise the second night, neighbors must have left? ;)
Didn't eat in the cafe/pub in the lobby.
Nice parking garage to keep your car out of the sun.
Room had a great view of the NUMMI plant across the highway. -

How would you like to spend four months planning an event. Being a return customer made me think no problems. The event was to host 420 local High School students for an all day event. Contract signed, deposit made, event thoroughly planned.
Suddenly from left field " THE CAll " comes into my office. We will be remodeling that day and you will not be able to host your event. Can you move it. Schools ready to attend, buses ordered , menu planned, decorations all ordered and on hand, speakers confirmed, and then this.
How about Thanksgiving week, how about December. They no nothing about a high school calendar. Then the next CALL came to my office. It is no longer about redecorating the hotel...The group is too large. We cannot host you anyway. Remember everything had been approved and signed. So now I have a huge event planned and no where to go. The I asked the General manager to call. He called one evening at about 6:30pm when he knew I would be gone and asked me to call. I not only called Mr. Castillo but also his executive assistant. I was never called back. The to make this even more interesting I received a call from Marriott Global thanking me for last years event and wishing good luck with this years event. That young man got an earful from me..but politely.
So one week later I have asked for a refund and will be placing a call to Marriott Corporate Headquarters this coming Monday. I have been patient to the point of being completely exhausted. I will never step foot into a Marriott as long as I live. I have been a good customer. I also say the same thing for another employee happened concerning a family wedding in 2009. I take pride in being a kind and fair person in all my business dealings. This has been a shocking experience and one that will never be forgotten by myself and our soon to be notified guests.
In parting I would hope that if your plans include the Marriott Fremont be careful. They treat nice people also like garbage. -
Review from Conspicuous C.
Lake Forest, CA
The main reason you might need a hotel in Fremont is if all the other Marriott properties in the San Jose area are sold out, as happens frequently. This hotel is a good value for the Bay Area, as you can get it for $99 for certain rate classes and it's a full-service Marriott. It's not as far from the main business areas as crummier Marriott properties in south San Jose.
I wasn't too impressed with their restaurant as the service wasn't good and the food was just ok. I got the impression they had new management and service staff who were learning the ropes. -

Let me preface this by saying, "Who would ever need a hotel in Fremont?" For that fact alone this hotel might earn only a single star. If however, through some freak occurance, you end up needing a hotel in Fremont, this is one of the best places to go. It has rather nice rooms, nothing extraordinary, but slightly better than average. The pool is good, the fitness room well equiped, the breakfast on par for a hotel breakfast. The only question is, "Why Fremont?"

I called the Fremont Marriott to inquire about holding a wedding receiption there. The event lady, Nona Fernandez, we by far the rudest person I have come across in my wedding search. She was short with me whenever I asked any questions. It was really clear she didn't want to answer anything. She just kept trying to say she'd email me the info. The people I've talked to at the San Ramon & Santa Clara Marriotts were much friendlier and their venues were slightly cheaper.

Georgette and her staff were great to work with. Marriott gave our wedding party a very good discount on rooms and were flexible to our needs. All three of our pre-wedding events (including a catered party with music) were held at the Fremont Marriott and Georgette ran them so smoothly that we did not hat to worry about anything. Their Indian food is excellent and sure to satisfy any discerning taste.

I got this room for a great price! $69. Now I know why. Upon entering my room it reeked of cigarette smoke (non smoking property?), had to go back down to front desk to get new room. 2nd room was much better. Bathroom did not have separate shower and tub as advertised, went swimming in indoor pool which was invaded by all the neighborhood kids and no management to kick them out, no way to hook up my son's playstation2, wanted to charge me for internet access. Overall, nice room and bedding, but would go somewhere else next time.

Stayed in hotel 9/20/08 for one evening. Parked in the garage located behind hotel. Next morning went to retrieve family van to find it had been vandalized. Thieves broke window and stole $500 worth of stuff. Hotel said they were sorry and cleaned up broken glass. The end!
Maureen Seibel, Marriott Claims Administer, says that Mariott offers a reasonably safe enviornment. So no other action is necessary.
Don't park in the garage. -

why do you need a hotel in Fremont? a couple of reasons, NUMMI (Toyota factory is nearby and so is the corporate campus of Lam Research, a major employer in Silicon Valley). at least you can find a decent burger here. the meat was seasoned nicely and served on a soft bun with carmelized onions and blue cheese. the different salads offered here are decent quality and quantity. not quite the W but still a good place for lunch.

my schools graduation was held in one of their rooms. it was actually surprisingly small from what i expected. nonetheless, they have a lot of parking which is a plus. the hotel itself looked nice and clean =D
