Just a small old general store in the middle of nowhere. But that nowhere is the most beautiful area in California, the backside Alps. It is so nice to be driving along, hungry, thirsty, hot, sweaty and see this little gem coming up in the distance. So welcome. So old. So rustic.
Be careful about drinking beer and getting into your car with alcohol, the store is right next to the courthouse. No mercy either.
Little old-fashioned general store. Been there forever. They have a little of everything. Good fishing advice too. Friendly. Check it out - there ain't too many old timey general stores left anymore. No freshly made food selections though - all pre-packaged. But hey, if you're hungry...
PS - disregard Yelp's map... sometimes it wigs out if you are in the boonies. The store is right in "downtown" Markleeville, next to the courthouse.
