I love coming to Market Street in the Woodlands. You have everything that you need her from shopping, dining and hanging out. The shops are for all ages and the area is very family friendly. They have Tommy Bahamas which has great food and is the only one in the Houston area! It is definitely worth a try if you are in the area. I love the Avia hotel; I know many of my friends dread coming to the north side of town because it is too far but they can always crash here at this very chic hotel. The bar has a great happy hour as well!
You have everything from yoga (Lulu Lemon), cinema, sushi, upscale BBQ (Jaspers), burgers the way you want (The Counter), wine bars (Cru) and the list goes on.
The Luke's Locker even has a runners club which is something up my ally and good for folks bringing in the new year!
During the summer, they have smooth jazz night; you sit in the grass and just chill. The restaurants have their patios facing the center where the music plays so its nice to each and drink and listen to the music. -

Everyday is a great day in Market Street. My nearby home away from home. Yes I know your not on the ocean which I love dearly but you offer so many amenities that I still love you.
Shop all day and stay all night. There is an incredible diversity of things to do in this lovely Town Area. L' Occitane just opened the day after Thanksgiving (couple stores from Eddie Bauer). They keep up with the current trends in stores and restaurants with more upscale quality in mind.
Some of the unique features are:
The Woodlands Trolley that will take you all over the area and into the Waterway District and mall.
Events every weekend of some kind from Wine Tasting Events, Foodie events, free live concerts in Central Park, Dancing Queen Flash Mob Event in the Street, pop up fountains for the children to play in, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion with free family events to world class concerts under the stars of the 2nd largest outdoor amphitheater in the country, many events for every holiday etc..
Currently for the Christmas season they have Horse Drawn Carriage Rides which are really pretty with the white horses and blue lights all over Market Street. Rides available Dec. 13 -24th $15.00 per couple for more info call 936-499-4760. Santa Photos for the kiddos, Christmas Carolers and much more. See www.marketstreet-the http://woodlands.com.
Large variety of upscale shopping and boutiques, fine and casual dining, bars with happy hours, hair salons, totally pampering body salons, Market Street Cinema etc...
Avia an elegant newer boutique hotel with rooms done up in rich purple and silver tones with all amenities.
Market Street has become an awesome place for tourists from every country of the world. Really truly beautiful seeing individuals, couples and families from every ethnicity shopping and dining respectfully and peacefully together.
Free garage parking and valet parking tor entire area. Just check out the website for all the awesome places. -

I was visiting family in Texas, and on our last night there, my uncle took us out to Market Street Plaza to walk around and a grab drinks.
It really reminds me of the Villages at Gulfstream Park in Miami, which I liked because that's on of my favorite outdoor shopping malls. Market Street has a plethora of retail shops, frozen yogurt joints, and restaurants. There's also a grocery store and a hotel. I don't know if the movie theatre is considered to be a part of Market Street, but there is one nearby. They also had a big area in the center where kids were playing. It definitely felt like a nice place for families to go for a night out in the Woodlands on a Friday or Saturday night.
Most places were closed, and it was around 7 pm on a Sunday. Understandable, but I wasn't used to it being from South Florida where even on Sunday, many things are open later. The place looked secure. I saw several police officers around the area where the kids were playing.
Whenever I'm back in the Woodlands, this is definitely somewhere I'd go to shop or grab lunch. -

I LOVE THE WOODLANDS! I can finally call this bundle of trees my home.
Date night? Graduation night? Prom night? A stroll night? Don't feel like paying for the concert so I'd rather hear it in the Market Street night?
YOU GOT IT!
I have to say that the Memorial City-Centre does give The Woodlands Market Street Plaza a run for their money but when it comes to less traffic and a cozy atmosphere, I RIDE or DIE for the Market Street. **Gangsta' pose**
This place has a 5 step-regimen that will feed your every day needs:
Red Mango or Cold Stone Creamery-Sugar drive
Charming Charlie's to Francesca's-Shopping habits
Cos Bar-"Just Because.." Perfume & Make-up
Jasper's or Avia Hotel- Drink up
H-E-B- "Oh, I forgot about the kids and husband, let me get them something on my way out!"
Daaaaa Daaaaaaa! **Hands in the air**
Everything you need is right there to enjoy a fabulousity situation! Trust me!
Of course you can walk from Market Street to the mall in minutes to the arm-length version of Main, St. where you can go to Hubbel & Hudson at "Sip & Shop" or to Crush lounge and "Chat it out"
I know The Woodlands has more to store in the near future.....
Can't wait to taste this new Cajun place, I'll be the judge! Oh yes, and dream about shopping at Tiffany & Co. in November 2010 -

I really like market street. It's a well executed version of the "town square" shopping/entertainment area that's become so popular.
Why do I like it?
First, the mix of businesses. A movie theater, a bunch of restaurants, including some that are excellent, a book store, a wine bar, a coffee house, some high-end shopping. A grocery store with a good gourmet section. Free concerts on the square, a dynamic water fountain that kids can play in. A world-class concert venue and a public library across the street.
Second, the setting. It's lovely. Two-story facades with interesting character provide a real sense of place, a clean environment, and free Wi-Fi.
It's downtown with a Disney feel, and that's not a bad thing. -

This place is my small version of hell. Married house wives shopping on their husbands dime, where are the kids? who knows. Or if they do have them...whoah! Watch out for that drenched half naked child running around the lawn! I've seen way too many a child running around in their diapers in those fountains. Makes you not want to eat outdoors there anymore. And the moms are blocking the way with their strollers (double-wides for the 1 kid of course) and chatting w/ their girlfriends. No wonder more children are abducted.
The parking garage likes to tow cars for now reason.
The security is awful. They watch teenagers going crazy around there and do nothing about it. It feels unsafe.
The only redeeming quality? The landscaping...what's left of what use to be there anyways... -

I'm a big fan of Market Street in The Woodlands. I just moved here from Honolulu having lived in Santa Monica, Ca before that and i really missed this kind of outdoor shopping atmosphere. Market Street has a great mix of shops, restaurants, coffee shops and outdoor seating. It's a great place to come for morning coffee, lunch and dinner. So far, it has been a regular hangout of mine.

Avoid this place like the plague! A new level of hell.
There are way too many wannabe trophy wives running around spending all of there husbands money. This is typical of the Woodlands area though... They are all "new money" and try to show it off whenever they can. If they have their kids with them instead of being at home with the illegal immigrant nanny, they are blocking every side walk with the strollers chatting it up with their friends.
The parking is horrible and security is a complete bunch of morons.
I will never go to Market Street again. -

I've never been able to navigate to Market Street in The Woodlands the same way twice. My GPS doesn't seem to know its there so I kind of drive until I pass it then circle back again.
To be honest, my sole purpose for going to Market Street most of the time is to grab some amazing pizza from Extreme Pizza but they have a whole lot more going on here.
When you enter the Market Street plaza, you'll find an array of shops you can't find anywhere else in Houston. The brick paved streets lead you through rows of quaint looking shops that house some of the best names in shopping. There's not a lot of parking but this place is best trafficked on foot so just take the first space available and be prepared to lug your bags around while you stroll through the complex.
Market Street has made itself more than a shopping and dining destination though. They have events throughout the year and the open air plaza is designed for a more relaxed approach to shopping. They have live musical performances most weekends in the evening and water features that are meant for playing - bring towels.
If you're going to Market Street in The Woodlands, be prepared to spend big as there are many top notch stores that don't come cheap. Market Street is another example of how The Woodlands is doing something right in their development. It's always bustling and has enough to keep you busy all day - or until you run out of money. -

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE HEB WOODLANDS MARKET ONLY.
As far as I am concerned, this is the best grocery store ever. It's a mix of Central Market and a normal HEB, but they took the best of each to make one store. Amazing selection and very reasonable prices. Their hours are also very flexible. I wish I had found this store sooner.
