Great wine list!
Service was fine, not spectacular but I really don't expect very much. We knew what we wanted and seemed to get the "approval" nod from the waiter.
Food: Excellent soup, Good mahi-mahi (though nothing stellar), but the highlight was definitely the dessert. I had the apple-pistachio crisp.
We must have lucked out with timing, because there were two of us and we walked in without a reservation and were seated right away.

Burgers and Fries served on square plates has never been something I've been drawn too. I think burgers and fries should be blanketed spiritedly in low quality paper/foil. And the fries should come in baggies that are too small allowing the fries to brim out, like blossoming pedals in spring. My point is that this place tries too hard to be something it really isn't: good.
The burger was said to be Kobe beef. It probably was, but I really wasn't impressed. The texture was a shade better than your average Sonic or Burger King but the taste was hopeless. The most dominant taste in the burger was a weak, pathetic little ring that barely passed as an onion. The shoestring fries might as well have been just that, lightly fried shoestrings. They lacked crisp, flavor, and worthiness. But, I'll admit they did look nice all nestled together on the plate and the large portion started the evening on the right foot. Unfortunately is stayed on that right foot, forgot the left foot, and ended up falling on its over-priced face.

Nooooooooooo I never got the chance to come for happy hour mac and cheese!
I really liked coming here, even though the service was kind of standoffish. I loved the shoestring fries dressed with truffle oil. Darnit.
This place is CLOSED - and is now going to be Via Verde, a wood fired pizza-centric place. RIP to the nice wine happy hour they had at Market Street, which is the only thing i ever consumed there. I loved it that their wine by the glass was half-priced and happy hour was until 7pm!

We went there on Tuesday night at 5:45, and were asked by the hostess to be done by 7, for people with reservations. Fair enough. When we ordered our drinks our waiter seemed put-off when asked to recommend a wine and even more so when we told him we would be having the 25 for 25 dinners. Our food was delicious, the salads nice, very good lemon dressing. We both had the Grilled Ribeye, a bit fatty but cooked perfectly, and the truffle fries were great. The deserts were fantastic! We wished we could have tipped the cooks instead of waitstaff.

It's really good but a little too fancy/pricey for a weeknight meal.

Went on a Thursday night without reservations - larger group (6 of us)... were treated with very little respect. I feel very belittled when I go out with a group of students and am treated as we are ten years younger. We were not asked for drinks, were not given specials, handed our meals and NOT ONCE asked how our meal was. Turns out, the food was excellent. It's a shame the service left much to be desired. I'm sure the treatment would have been different if we were a group of 50-somethings, but who's to say we don't have twice as much money as they would? Nothing ticks me off more than receiving poor service due to my age. My final word: If you're over 30 and with 4 or less, give it a shot and pray you don't get our waiter.

Electricity: 1 Ballard: 0. The service was perfect (one of our party knows the owner). I got here late, but everyone said it was awesome food. Then the lights went out all over Ballard and we left... if only that were due to heavy drinking.

Less than acceptable service. The food was decent, but the price-tag didn't reflect what's on the plate. I wouldn't go back.
Let me paint you a picture. My boyfriend of 2 years decided to be all sweet and cute, and plan a surprise valentine's day dinner. So, after a long day of work, and also a class, I head over to his place and we head to the mystery place, which turned out to be the market street grill. He told the place had informed him that they had parking, however, the lot was so tiny that by the time we were there, I had to roam the streets, and this irritated me. I asked him if the menu looked good, and he said that it did, but it turns out that they changed the menu since he booked the reservations. I don't eat pork, and I would say about 90 % of the entrees had some type of pork side dish included. I also don't eat duck, or most of the things on the menu. I ended up ordering the tomato soup (excellent, reminds me of safeway soup), and the scallops. The scallops were really not my favorite, and I ended up maybe eating half my meal. I also ordered dessert, which was okay. The one good things was the waiter. He was extremely attentive, took our jackets, and made sure water glasses were full. I would probably not go back here, but I'm glad that we tried somewhere new, and got to check out ballard a bit.
