Mark the Mover was extremely professional and did a great job on my move. We did have a minor billing issue but they resolved it immediately and to my satisfaction.
Movers arrived on time, were extremely professional and polite, and they were careful not to damage any of our items in transit.
The move went perfectly and I would strongly recommend Mark the Mover. -

Used for my recent move- the 3 guys from Mark the Mover were friendly, polite, and moved me promptly into my new condo. They arrived closer to the end of the time slot that I was reserved for, which made me a bit nervous b/c I noticed another apartment moving out on the same day and they were starting to monopolize the elevator. Luckily, once they arrived the Mark the Mover guys had my stuff out and packed in the truck in a jiffy and we were done well before the other apartment. The unload at my condo was just as fast and problem-free. Nothing was broken or even scratched.
Due to the glowing Yelp reviews and the frequency that I saw Mark the mover trucks at my former apartment complex, I knew they must have been reliable so I didn't even bother getting a quote from another moving company. I know there must have been other companies out there that are cheaper- like the random blank box truck movers the other apartment's owner used- but I think I got my money's worth, most of which was peace of mind during what was a very last minute and stressful move. I obsessively researched movers after having two dreadful experiences in the past. So many moving companies are total sketch artists! After many hours on http://movingscam.com, and various review sites, I chose Mark the Mover to help us pack our rental truck. We couldn't have had a better experience. The four guys punctual, funny, thoughtful, careful and fast. There were no extra charges, nothing broken, and none of them solicited a tip. We wholeheartedly recommend them (and wholeheartedly tipped them with $$ and food.)

A typical hot atlanta day, and Mark the Mover's team of 3 came through. Marlon, Marco and Brad were so wonderful, they were careful, packed everything methodically, and even had a smile on their faces the entire time. They help make my moving experience tremendously easier, they could not have been nicer. I will definitely call them again, if I have to move, which is hopefully not soon :). Thanks again Guys!

after living in the same home for the past 40 years, my parents were moving to downsize into a smaller apartment. they were moving from a 5 bedroom 2800 house to a 3 bedroom 1400 sq ft apt. this was a huge adjustment for them and were having a difficult time processing this tremendous change in their world. moving day was going to be extremely stressful.
upon recommendation from my friend mike, he suggested i call on the company mark the mover. it was the BEST decision possible for such a stressful day. it was a crew of 4 men. Antonio, Robert, Marco, and Eric. these men showed up promptly at 8:45am and were extremely polite and efficient. their demeanor never shifted, even after loading, three separate drop offs (my sister and i were getting things from the folks), and unloading. it was a 12 hour shift.
i was so impressed by how kind and compassionate these guys were. here they are laboring for half a day and they never stopped smiling and being polite. it made for a very difficult day a lot less stressful. even when i had a mid day melt down, one guy, robert, took a moment to make sure i was ok. by the end of it all, there were lots of hugs and gratitude.
i really could not have asked for a better crew to take care of my family on such a difficult day. they were pure professionals and i recommend you hire them for any moving needs. your money will be worth every cent.

Okay, so it's been just over a year since I've used this moving company, so I can't vouch for their current level of service. But I definitely plan to use them again when we move in a few months!
I found Mark the Mover on Kudzu and they had good ratings. I needed to get a bunch of heavy furniture from my grandparents' three-story condo into my new apartment. Boyfriend Mark was still in Arizona, so he couldn't help with the heavy lifting. So I found another Mark to move me! It wasn't cheating, I swear. I called up Mark the Mover, got a quote and then called a few other places to compare prices. Mark's had the second-best quote and I had a better feeling about them, overall...gotta listen to that intuition!
The 4 movers showed up on the later side of the hour-long arrival time frame I had been given. At first glance, I wasn't sure I had made the best choice. One guy looked like he was around 50. None of them were very big or sturdy. But they came in, I showed them what all needed to be moved, and man...those guys got to work! In less than an hour, they had moved two large dressers, two arm chairs, a TV and TV stand, kitchen table and chairs, a vanity with a large mirror (which they carefully unscrewed and wrapped), a VERY heavy sofa bed, some end tables, an armoire, etc.
We headed over to my place, I showed them which rooms corresponded to the labels I had stuck on all the furniture, and in even less time they had unloaded everything, put it all exactly where I wanted it, reassembled the vanity, put the cushions back on the couch and armchairs, and... here's the best part- by the time the movers were finished, it was a little over two hours...maybe 2 hours and 15 minutes. But they only charged me for 2 hours flat, whereas most places round up to the next half-hour or hour!
When the movers left I just stood there looking around in amazement. Everything was where it should be. Easiest move ever. Nothing was broken or scratched. These guys went above and beyond!!
**Note- I was going to go with three movers instead of four, but Mark the Mover employee Paul advised that I take the pricier quote for 4 movers, because they could move everything faster with the extra person and save me more money in the long run. Total cost of the move: $300. Cost of getting the move done in 2 hours and not having my friends and family hate me for roping them in to spending half a day moving all that stuff: Priceless. -

The lease was up, and again, we moved, so, Mark the Mover was called in again. We thought our exceptional service the first time might have been a fluke, but this time, it was confirmed: they do a good job.

These guys unpacked us from a U-Haul move from NY. Not only were the extremely careful with our belongings they were super friendly and funny. They were also really quick!
Setting things up with the sales manager Justin was really great. He set everything up and called to confirm the day before the move and also called early the morning of the move to let us know they were on the way.
I will never use anyone except Mark the Mover to move. -

For local moves in the metro-Atlanta area, I don't think it gets much better than the crew from Mark The Mover. They arrived cheerful and ready to work, with enthusiasm and vigor. And they set about the load-up with efficiency and speed, yet with care and respect for our belongings. They blanket-wrap and/or stretch wrap anything that isn't boxed. They are cognizant of neighbors and of our time.
At the new house, the first thing they did was roll out walk mats and put down additional blankets to protect the floors. That impressed me! Then they began to unload the truck. Each guy only had to be told once which room was designated "den" or "office" or so forth, and they knew from then on where to put items that were tagged accordingly. They setup beds, connected TV's, and moved furniture around in the rooms as we decided what would work best.
They aren't the cheapest movers out there, but remember, you get what you pay for. And with Mark The Mover, there is no worry and no concern. Well worth the couple of extra dollars for that peace of mind on moving day (because, really, you have enough to worry about!). We will use them for all of our future moves around Atlanta! -

Though I didn't research personally any other moving companies and just called Mark based on the Yelp reviews (thanks guys!) it sounds like in comparison to other companies, Mark and Co really have their act together. Though I personally wasn't expecting anything less since I'd never dealt with a moving company before, I can echo the sentiments of others saying that the service was solid. There was a mix up with my reservation date and them being open when I was scheduled, however, which was frustrating and ended up costing me extra money (not with Mark but in general) and some calls rearranging my moving schedule. In general though, the actual movers were very polite and nothing was broken!

This was the first time that I'd hired movers, since my roommate had all the big furniture the last time I moved, and I finally have enough grown-up furniture to warrant actual movers instead of just relying on friends. After the reviews on Yelp, I filled out a few online quotes, but of course, just went with Mark after the glowing reviews.
When I called to make my reservation, Justin explained the moving process thoroughly, even though he'd already done so when I called for the quote. The only downside for me was I felt there was a slight upsell when it came to the insurance - I don't have a lot of stuff, and I was only moving 10 miles, but Justin talked so much about insurance and liability that I felt compelled to at least get the $500 deductible worth for my stuff, when the driver said that I probably didn't need it. Other than that, customer service was excellent - they responded promptly to emails and phone calls, and even knew who to forward me to when I was responding to a voicemail, making sure that everything was clearly stated in advance, particularly pricing. They also let me know that they couldn't be responsible for the plasma tv unless we had the original packaging (so we just moved that ourselves), and I greatly appreciated the frankness of that statement.
Just my luck, I'd picked the coldest and wettest day of December to move, but the friendly crew arrived on time. I was worried that I hadn't gotten my neighbor to move her car and clear two spots in the townhouse complex, but the driver was a real pro and got the truck backed up in one spot, right up to my front door, so that the ramp was holding the storm door open! The crew was friendly and chatty, but not overly so. One of the guys walked through the house with me to understand what pieces they were taking (since I was moving the small stuff myself), and didn't have to be told again. The driver was a little slow with the paperwork, but you really can't blame him with all the legal stuff that they have to fill out to reduce their liability. Other than that, they worked at a steady pace, but took the time to thoroughly wrap everything, especially since it was raining and they didn't want anything getting wet. They kept offering to take more stuff, but they let me know that they couldn't be responsible for lamps and art work, so I. just put that stuff in my car. They patiently followed me through rainy traffic to the new house, and then moved quickly to put stuff in the right rooms and unwrap everything, even throwing away all the shrink wrap when they were done.

Outstanding service on a Memorial Day move in Atlanta! Arrangements were confirmed the day before and the morning of the move. All three workers were prompt, professional, courteous and efficient. It's hard to imagine anyone could improve on the service we received. A terrific company!

I was browsing Yelp today and saw a review for Mark the Mover and thought I would chime in.
I used them in 2000 (yikes! have i lived here that long) to move from my apartment to my first home. It was a whopping 3 miles away but this is still the best $$ I spent related to my home purchase. I think the whole move, plus tips was $400.
The whole move took 3.5 hours start to finish. They showed up when expected, were fast, were clean, were polite. What more could you ask for.
I still remember the guys who moved me - 1 crew leader who was a tall, really really skinny hippie looking guy and two larger strong looking men. The really skinny guy - who I figured would just "supervise" - walks into my laundry room and 30 seconds later comes out with my washing machine on his back! Well, OK then.
Glad to see that 9 years later they are still being rated highly and, if this market ever improves and we can move as we hope, I will call on them again. -

I could not have been more pleased with Mark the Mover. They arrived right on time, wrapped everything very quickly yet thoroughly, and finished our small job extremely fast. They were willing to do whatever we needed and were cheerful, friendly, and efficient. I will use them again without question.

I agree with Leah. I used Mark the Mover after finding them on Kudzu and shopping around. Like Leah, their quote wasn't the cheapest, but I felt most comfortable with the guy I spoke to on the phone and the lack of hidden costs. Three (or was it four?) guys moved me from my second loor apartment in Buckhead to my two story townhouse in Decatur. Nothing was broken even my rickety self-assembled dressers from By Design managed to stay together. They moved so fast getting the large items loaded that they had to wait for me to finish throwing things in boxes before we headed out. They helped me gather extra items that I hadn't packed and arranged my furniture in the new space, even rearranging things so I could determine the best placement. The guys were nice and thankful for the beers and gatorade I offered them. (It was a hot August morning and they declined the beer.) Best couple hundred bucks I could've spent: No hidden costs, fast work, nice guys.

I did not hesitate to call mark the mover for my next move but after speaking with Justin I was quickly quoted a price that was so outrageous that I assumed perhaps he was just having a bad day and I would call back later in the week. Well it turns out that they charge a return trip charge if your move is over 50 miles from Atlanta and mine was exactly 57 miles. From Cumming, GA to Athens, GA. The State regulation indicates that charging for trip charges is not appropriate. What puzzled me so was not so much the trip charge but the quote I got for the move itself. I moved a 4000 sq foot home last time and now I am only moving the size of a studio apartment and the amount I was quote was higher than what I paid just 2 years ago for a whole house full and way more than 3500lbs.
I called back the next week. Got Justin again and was quoted an even higher price for a flat rate move!!!! Moving a studio apartment with the heaviest item being a TV should not cost $1200 (first quote) nor ($1300ish) last quote. Instead I called 1-866-u-Moving after reading their reviews and felt good about paying $600 for a flat rate (not hourly) and no return trip charges. Needless to say I was totally disappointed. I explained that I was a 2 time repeat customer but that was really of no consequence. I am so disappointed. I have referred my family and friends to Mark the mover in the past and have given them thousands of dollars of business. I WAS a loyal customer but NOT anymore. You can see how pleased I was with my previous moves. I am so sad that I can't give them a good review. I looked up my quotes from 2 years ago to make sure I was not being a psycho and sure enough...this quote was ridiculous!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I recently used Mark the Mover to move from a house into a condo. I needed a move done quickly and on just 4 days notice. From the first phone call, Mark the Mover was professional, courteous, and service-oriented. On the day of the move, the moving team showed up on time and were extremely polite and enthusiastic even in the face of extreme heat. They fully protected and wrapped all of my furniture and belongings and even packed a few things for me that I had forgotten about. There was one mishap with my move and something broke accidentally. Even though Mark the Mover had no obligation to replace the item, they did so immediately because they wanted me to be fully satisfied. That level of service is rarely seen today. I would definitely use Mark the Mover again and highly recommend their entire team.
