Marilyn Remark Winery
2 reviews for Marilyn Remark Winery
On our way back to Hwy 101 from Carmel Valley, we decided to stop in here. We drove through farmland for a really long time before we reached Marilyn's place. My friend said she felt like she was in the Midwest.
Mairlyn produces Rhone style varieties only. And quite well. We got a great sampling of wines including her Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Grenache, Syrah, a Petite Sirah and a Late Harvest Viognier. They were all very good and I bought the latter two. However, it was quite cold in her tasting room. I do not believe there was any heat in there so I think the wines were a little on the colder side than you would normally serve them at.

I was brought here by family who have been huge fans for the past year or two so my expectations were extremely high. Surprisingly, the tasting more than lived up to my expectations and I couldn't help but join the wine club. Grenache is clearly Marilyn Remark's specialty, though I much preferred the more expensive Wild Horse (surprise, surprise). I also can't remember enjoying the white wines across the board at a tasting before quite like these. The Roussane was amazing, and the Marsanne and Viognier are very strong as well. This winery is a little ways away from the other Monterey County wineries but well worth a trip out (or its own trip for that matter)...
