Great wines, friendly service and fun intimate atmosphere. A great alternative to the larger tasting rooms in the area. Marilyn and Joel are often in the tasting room and are super friendly. A definite stop if you're in the area, or planning a day trip!

Amy's memorial wine tour stop 1. Amy, since you were never shy we toasted you with some pink. Love MR's rose and am particularily attracted to their Rhone style wines. Enough of the Zins, chards, cabs and merlots already, let's try some new moves.
Check out the cute article written by WSJ and be sure to gab with Marilyn's husband who usually is on board in the tasting room.

On our way back to Hwy 101 from Carmel Valley, we decided to stop in here.  We drove through farmland for a really long time before we reached Marilyn's place.  My friend said she felt like she was in the Midwest.

Mairlyn produces Rhone style varieties only.  And quite well.  We got a great sampling of wines including her Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Grenache, Syrah, a Petite Sirah and a Late Harvest Viognier.  They were all very good and I bought the latter two.  However, it was quite cold in her tasting room.  I do not believe there was any heat in there so I think the wines were a little on the colder side than you would normally serve them at.

A simple, straight forward wine tasting experience of some of the most classic Rhone varietals to be made in California.  Marsanne was refined and elegant.  Viogner was excellent and Grenache was classic.  Prices are good.  This is a serious wine tasters place-no glitz-just wine.

Went tasting on Saturday while on vacation from Sonoma. We were greeted by two beautiful (and enormous!) dogs when we arrived. The tasting was held in their barn/barrel room, and Marilyn herself poured for our group of three. She is very knowledgeable and affable. The winery focuses on Rhone wines from the Monterey area, and they are moderately priced for the quality and style. Both reds and whites were delicious, and we ended up purchasing four bottles. The only knock is that the pours were a touch small - probably .75 oz. - and that made it a little difficult to judge color and nose on some of the reds.

The next time we're in the area, this will definitely be one of our stops.

I was brought here by family who have been huge fans for the past year or two so my expectations were extremely high.  Surprisingly, the tasting more than lived up to my expectations and I couldn't help but join the wine club.  Grenache is clearly Marilyn Remark's specialty, though I much preferred the more expensive Wild Horse (surprise, surprise).  I also can't remember enjoying the white wines across the board at a tasting before quite like these.  The Roussane was amazing, and the Marsanne and Viognier are very strong as well.  This winery is a little ways away from the other Monterey County wineries but well worth a trip out (or its own trip for that matter)...
