To all the Nashville Yelpers: if you love Margot, and you're ever in Chicago, try Lula Cafe. Lula is my favorite brunch spot (maybe favorite restaurant overall), and Margot reminds me very much of Lula because of its focus on seasonal ingredients and its use of not typical breakfast ingredients in interesting ways. Both spots also have the best cocktails, mmmm booze.

One thing Margot does that Lula does not, however, is brunch appetizers! LOVE that! The cheese selection is always fantastic, and who does not love cheese at all times but especially before a delicious brunch?

I got poached eggs over a stew of kale, potato and onion. It was pretty great. I also drank a really great blood orange mimosa. My sister had the mushroom omelette, and it was really lovely. We shared a side of grits, and I can't stop thinking about them.

Margot, I love you. I might write a love poem about you tonight in my diary.

I close eyes and daydream about Margot Cafe. This is by far one of the best brunches I've had in my life. We started with an app that consisted of a chocolate scone, pecan sticky bun, and coffee cake. All served warm and fresh.

I had a summer squash crepe with pesto and cheese that was almost orgasmic. My boyfriend had an omlette that was stuffed with corn and other goodies that was just so original and tasty.

The coffee was fabulous - from nearby Bongo Java. I actually went and picked up the blend that Margot's serves - that's how much I liked the coffee!

My bellini cocktail was also done just right as was my boyfriend's cocktail which was some kind of fruit spritzer.

A truly wonderful waiter and staff was the icing on the cake. Even the other customers were smiling and happy - I mean really how could you not be happy here - in such a cute and cozy place.

Oh Margot Cafe - I cannot wait till we meet again - one Sunday morning when I come back to Nashville.

Had a business dinner here 2 weeks ago and was amazed.  The food, service, ambiance, it was all perfect.  I loved all the starters, especially the olives and the goat cheese and crusty bread.  This place reminded me of a cozy house where everyone is welcome.

The beets were great, maybe the spinach underneath had a bit too much garlic for me, but it was excellent.  They change the menu everyday, but I had the beef tenderloin and it was fantastic, perfectly cooked and so tender!!!  The desserts were also excellent.  We had a banana cake that was to die for.

Go check it out!

We've heard a lot about this place since moving to Nashville a couple of months ago.  We decided to give it a try tonight.  We will definitely return.

The service was great.  Our waitress was helpful without being overbearing.  We started with the chips and aioli...it was a decadent treat.  For a first course, we split the anchovies.  They were well prepared.

For main courses, I had the grilled skirt steak and my husband had the lamb chops.  Both were excellent, though the lamb chop was on the edge of being to salty.

All in all, we had a great experience and look forward to going back.  We will definitely be checking out brunch in the near future.

I went here for dinner a few weeks ago and had a good meal.  Nothing blew my mind, but nothing was disappointing.  The foods were cooked and seasoned very well, but the menu lack innovation.  It is one of the few places in Nashville where you can tell they know how to cook. Service was good, but overall I felt it was expensive.  I'll likely go back, but due to the price it wont be too often.

I love Margot's and have been several times since it opened several years ago.

I will say though that I love brunch so much more than dinner. The food is good in both cases but for the money, brunch is a much better experience.  Its cheaper, delicious, and the atmosphere is a lot calmer. If you can get a seat on the patio then the seating doesn't seem crowded to me. I've actually never eaten inside here.

Last time I was there for brunch I had the bruschetta with a sunny side egg and escarole. it was delicious. I couldn't get enough.

The waitress was really nice, but drinks, for some reason, took a long time getting to us.

Visited Nashville in February and loved Margot's so much we came back on our drive to Atlanta last weekend!

It doesn't look like much from the street, but you walk into another world where exposed brick, copper kettles and an open kitchen combine to welcome you home.  Both times we've been seated in the room near the kitchen and I love it b/c you can see Margot and her crew and their craftsmanship with food up close.

Both times, we've had waitstaff that are as proud of their food and this restaurant as if they owned it. One of them even commented that most working there have been there for years and years.  They treated us the same on the first night dressed to hit the town and the second night looking sloppy in our travel clothes...I recommend not looking too sloppy because it's a nice place, but the situation didn't allow us to change clothes before we went...the point, though, is that they didn't treat us poorly or sit us in the back corner because of it.

Now to the food: the menu is seasonal and changes frequently, but if you ever have the chance to try Margot's gnocchi please please please don't miss them. Savory, rich little nuggets of heaven in a thick mushroom cream sauce...my mouth is watering all over again...and the fresh chips with garlic aioli was a perfect start to the second night's meal.  The tomato soup we had the first trip was a little weak on flavor, but was super fresh and didn't sit heavy like many of the bisques places rely upon a lot.

If you're looking for a nice evening out in an upscale, but welcoming place then Margot's will serve you very well. We'll be back for sure--after commenting that it's good we don't live in Nashville or we'd be broke :)

More like 4.5.  Great food, interesting wine list, nice atmosphere, good service, and an attentive head chef.  To me, one of the best places in town.  Homemade chips and aioli are really awesome, which sounds kinda silly, but they are!  Frequently changing menu with a good assortment of meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes.  Highly recommended.

I wish I could scream in all caps about this place. This is really a slice of paradise in E. Nashville. We didn't feel like eating much and hung out at the awesome cool bar. Brian, the bartender, was ever so sweet, refilling our glasses when empty, bringing out more aioli, etc. And when I asked him about a phallus shaped bottle of liquor, he explained it was a rare tequila and poured me some to try! This a guy who loves to hang out in the bar and meet people and we totally dug the place. We were vegetarians and we thought there weren't too many choices for us, but he said that the kitchen would work with us if we chose anything. We are so coming back to take his word on that. And the home fries were simply succulent and out of the world. Go for the ambiance, the food and the drinks. It's worth it.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Nashville.

Be sure to stop by for a Sunday brunch if you can, only on Sundays from 11-2...make a reservation!  Order anything you cannot go wrong, seriously.  This is not the type of place you can just walk into, it is small and cozy.  It used to be a gas station so its right on the corner and there isn't much available parking so plan on parking nearby.

The menu changes each day and you can taste how fresh it is.  After living in Nashville for the past 4 years, I was unable to find any other restaurant that compares to the DELICIOUSNESS of Margot.  YUM.

Maybe I was just here on an off night, but after hearing all the rave reviews of Margot, I was not impressed.  First our waitress was pretty unfriendly.  Not mean, but I felt like she was mad at us the whole time even if it was just to ask her recommendations.  Very curt service that made my boyfriend and I feel uncomfortable.
As for the dinner, the ingredients were really fresh, but the food itself was somewhat bland. After days of eating heavy food, Margot was a welcome respite, but that doesn't mean you can't put some fresh pepper on something for some flavor.  For starters, we ordered the homemade potato chips with aioli.  The starter was huge and the potato chips were nice and crunchy with great texture.  For appetizers, I had the risotto with Parmesan asparagus. This was nice but not necessarily wow.  For entree, the monkfish with oven dried tomato stew was on the bland side and I don't think the dish really melded that well together for something cohesive and interesting.
I'm all about local seasonal food, and I give credit to Margot for trying to further that in Nashville.  But where's the flavor?

Bottom Line: Don't buy into the hype - it will cost you dearly.

For starters, I understand they are small and they have to try and utilize the space the best way they can. But they need to try harder. I was practically sitting in the lap of the guy next to me. My dining companion and I didn't even bother talking to one another because it would have been pointless. We were instead left to listen to the conversations coming out of the mouths within inches of our ears - those belonging to the people at the next tables.

As for the food, I have had SO much better for MUCH lower prices. It was bland and really lacked creativity. I know the menu changes daily and I hope we were just there on an off night for their sake, but I won't be returning to find out for sure.

They should also really give their servers lessons on how to read people - when your customers are glaring at you (as politely as possible...) because you won't stop trying to explain to them how great some dish is that they clearly don't want while they are mid-chew, that's typically a sign that they want you to leave them alone to enjoy their mediocre food in peace.

This is one of my favorite "nice" places to go for dinner and brunch. The atmosphere is very intimate but not pretentious. The outdoor seating is lovely in the Spring and Fall. The staff is friendly and the and if I had one complaint about the place it's that the tables are really close.

The menu is seasonal so it changes. They have a wonderful wine selection and the staff can make great reconditions for pairings. I don't think i have ever had a disappointing meal there. I also think brunch is out of this world but more expensive than average.

This is a great date spot or date night spot. You can bring kids but I don't think it's the most comfortable place for them.

After reading the glowing reviews, I decided Margot was a must-try for my one night stint in Nashville.  As a business traveler, I tend to dine solo, and a decent bar with a friendly bartender is the only thing that keeps me from crying myself to sleep at night.  Luckily, Margot delivered.  My server was super friendly (as was everyone else - imagine, people smile when you accidentally make eye contact, rather than scowling or pretending like it didn't happen!!!), and chatted with me just enough so that I didn't feel like the invisible diner.  He gave me some of the background on the history of the space and also let me sample an odd bottle of red wine that is bottled in clear glass!  I know that might mean nothing to folks who don't drink a lot of wine, but for those that do; have you ever seen red in a clear glass bottle?  The mind, it reels!

Margot Cafe is a small spot, but not crowded.  There is a main dining room, seating upstairs, and a tented patio (whose patrons were in for a shock when the skies opened and rain thundered down around them, sneaking in around the roof a little and requiring some table scootches), plus a small bar that seats maybe 10.  My only gripe with the bar is the lack of overhang.  I hate when my legs are jammed right up against the bar when I'm sitting there, so I have to spread my legs out to either side of my stool, or sit way far back.

The bartender told me that one of Margot's influences is Alice Waters, and while I can see that, I feel like I couldn't quite score high marks in the "attention to detail" box.    I started off with an iberico cheese served with a yummy warm cranberry walnut bread and Seckel pears.  This was an excellent pairing, although large sections of pear were smooshy and gross, and for $12, I don't want any section of my pear to be smooshy and gross.

Next up the app of venison and sweet potato fries.  The fries were fab - meaty and sweet and salty.  The venison, I'm not quite sure about.  Seared for maybe a second, it was closer to ahi tuna than the game I was imagining.  I would've liked it a bit more done, but I figured this was how it was served, so I soldiered on, thoughtfully chewing and picking up on the foresty, earthy, venisony, damn, there is that distracting raw meat/tuna flavor again.  But when my neighbors ordered it later, it came completely cooked through.  So maybe they were just trying to poison me with raw meat.  In any case, it's a good dish, but consider ordering it medium or medium rare.
I wrapped it all up with a jasmine panna cotta that was okay, but didn't really taste like jasmine, and a glass of muscat.

An enjoyable meal, and for Nashville's local cuisine scene, I'm sure it's something out of the ordinary.  I'd recommend it with the stipulation that it might pale in comparison to California cuisine from California, where my tastebuds have been thoroughly spoiled.

Margot Café & Bar really puts East Nashville on the map, food wise.  Located in the up and coming East Nashville area, Margot serves the finest cuisine east of the river.  To start we had the cheese plate and sweet potato fries.  The waiter was awesome and explained the different types of cheeses that came with the appetizer, great for sharing.  I am not a big fan of sweet potatoes, but my friends enjoyed the fries very much.  For dinner I had the duck which was awesome and was accompanied by a great mint sauce.

The wine list is extensive and the server was very knowledgeable about the offerings.  Overall, this is a "must try" restaurant in East Nashville, for sure.

I have somehow lived in Nashville for the past five years, and only just this week visited Margot. I think hearing so many accolades for this place left me with expectations too high, because I left feeling slightly underwhelmed.  Don't get me wrong, the food was great... but not out of this world like I was expecting.

The restaurant is pretty small, but they make the most of the space. The tables are very cozy, to the point you were almost cozy with the parties sitting on each side of you.

We were with a group and so we were able to try two different starters - the artisan cheese plate and the chips with aioli. The aioli sauce was amazing, as was the cheese with fruit sauce. For my entree, I had the roast chicken with kale and grits topped with prosciutto, and it was delicious! The only disappointment was dessert. I had the white chocolate brownie cake... sounds greats, right? But it was just "eh".

Definitely a great special occasion spot... Don't go when you are in a hurry. It's best to go and savor the food, conversation, and ambience that is "margot".

By far the best dining experience in Nashville. Tried a few other places and what is it with Nashville? Found most to be corporate owned restaurants with menus designed in the board room--how can we make the most money off this dish... Not Margot, a chef owned establishment with care and pride in every action.  Yay!

Last here in May and had a splendid Duck and a divine citrus tart for desert. Good wine selection and the olive plate was perfect with cocktails. Going back to Nashville next week and looking forward to this month's menu.

In any other city this would be a strong 4 stars. Being Nashville and the overall quality, of restaurants I have found, I will have to go with a 4.5!

I somehow conned my sister in to taking me here for my birthday. I'm very glad she agreed to go (and paid, thanks sis!). I had wanted to try Cafe Margot for a very long time but had never made it. It was worth all of the wait. The namesake Chef Margot deserves the praise she gets.

I can't imagine anyone having a two star experience here. Everything about the restaurant is superb: the service, the ambiance, the bar. We sat at a tiny table near the kitchen and had some nice cocktails to start. My sister had a beet salad which she really liked. That's the great thing about a chef who uses local and fresh ingredients. All of our food was exceptional. The menu also changes all the time which is fantastic.

I can't think of anything negative to say about Cafe Margot. I would encourage everyone to try it. You won't regret it. Ah, I did think of a tip. They don't take American Express. I would also recommend calling ahead to get a recommendation. So there you go!

Oh how do I love Margot?  Let me count the ways ...

One for the one bowl of chilled beet soup with horseradish creme fraiche that my fiance ordered, we all ate, and that stained the white tablecloths I am sure permanently.

Two for the two startled looks that sat across the table from me when my folks realized that there are good restaurants outside of Belle Meade and Green Hills.

Three for the three delicious pastries and cakes that were delivered to our table with homemade blueberry jam, compliments of our waitress.

Four for the four mis-matched antique bread and butter plates that we ate the pastries on which perfectly compliment the shabby chic attitude that Cafe Margot embodies.

Five for the five stars that I will give Cafe Margot and look forward to visiting her again soon.

There are a handful of restaurants in the world that I might be willing to say this about: Nothing can be done to improve this place.

The menu is seasonal and changes nightly.  Knowing that, Margot had already endeared itself to my heart before I even arrived.  Once we sat down to eat, I was overwhelmed by how good everything was.  I couldn't settle on an appetizer and the waiter recommended the freshly baked bread with herbed butter and sliced radishes.  This sounded somewhat insane to me, but he seemed earnest and sincere so I took his word for it.  Even now it's one of the best things I've ever eaten.

Since that first night I've been back many times for dinner and brunch.  Rabbit stew over polenta, nicoise salad Margot style, pork chop with various delightful sauces and sides, fruit-stuffed french toast, venison and bitter greens... I have never been disappointed with any of the food here.  Not only is everything prepared with an expert hand, but the menu is creative and adventuresome.  Things that you wouldn't expect to find on a menu together (much less in Nashville) make regular appearances.

I still can't get over that bread/herbed butter/radish concoction...

If you're a wine lover, never fear.  Their wine list is extensive and unusual but the waiters are usually right on point in guiding you toward a beverage that will compliment your meal.  Even for someone who works in the wine industry, the collection of outstanding (mostly European) wines is admirable.

Next time I roll through Nashville, Margot's is the priority stop.

In East Nashville's Five Points neighborhood, Margot McCormack and Jay Frein have transformed an old gas station into a casual but upscale restaurant. The exposed brick walls and warm colors create a cozy atmosphere. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. The modern American menu (with hints of Tuscany and Provence) changes daily, but always offers six appetizers, six entrees, and several desserts. And they always have at least one seasonal option for vegetarians.

This is the kind of gastronomic landmark that you might expect to find in Brooklyn or Boston, but that sits right at home in ultra-hip Five Points.

What to say about Margot....  Nice atmosphere, although it can get a little noisy in there, as it's a smaller place.  I love the fact that the menu changes daily.  I went with a nice pan-seared halibut with chickpeas, tomatoes, and carrots.  It was delicious.  Service was friendly, if not the most attentive.

Good winelist, although I felt some regions were under-represented, and the wine-by-the-glass offerings were somewhat sparse.

All in all, a pretty good meal.

Margot Cafe is located in the up and coming, "hipper" part of East Nashville. The restaurant has a unique ambiance, with exposed pipes and a loft with seating upstairs that create a funky feeling. This is clearly a popular spot, there was not an empty seat in the house.

Our waitress was excellent, she was knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection (which was extensive in comparison to many restaurants in Nashville) and paid careful attention to our needs.

We started with the cheese of the evening, which was a soft white cheese from the midwest that had a pleasant flavor. I was impressed. We ordered a bottle of Chianti, which was just right.

I had the pan fried fish crusted in a cornmeal coating, on a bed of corn salad. My plate was great, although it desperately needed some greens to balance it out and I had to order some lemon to give the fish a bit more zest. My friend's meal looked excellent, but my refusal to eat cute animals prevented me from tasting the veal. I did, however, manage to steal some of the sauteed spinache, which was just like I make it at home (ie, delish).

For dessert, we split the watermelon sorbet which came with a big, flat crunchy nutty wafer. Yum! It ended the meal perfectly.

All in all, I was impressed with Cafe Margot, and I see why it has received so much positive attention in Nashville. I will certainly be back (maybe time and time again...)

I wish that I could write a review of this restaurant that could do justice to it. I don't have a clever story or a great description of the food. All I can say is that this is one of my three favorite restaurants ever alongside Chez Fon Fon in Birmingham and Sel de le Terre in Boston.

All I can do is sum up the experience: fresh ingredients that are extremely well prepared and delivered by great servers alongside fabulous wines in a great environment. How much more can you ask for?

Margot Cafe and Bar is a fairly new addition to the East Nashville Restaurant scene; they have really brought a quality menu and restaurant to the neighborhood. Margot is located on the corner at Woodland St. The decor is kinda upscale but the attitude is relaxed just like every other good place to eat in Nashville.

The dining room is full of windows so they have a lot of natural lighting. There is no bad table at this restaurant. I had the pleasure of taking my mother and grandmother to Margot for their Sunday brunch and everyone really enjoyed it.

The menu is full of creative items from the chef. They take some bigger chances with their recipes and get some really memorable items on their rotating menu. For brunch I ordered the Artichoke and Parmesan quiche which was very rich and very delicious.  I love quiche and this one they served at Margot was a great blend of sweet from the cream and cheese, and tangy from the artichoke and onion. My family really liked the atmosphere because it was more formal than a diner or other run of the mill brunch spot.

I too was in Nashville for travel.
Fortunately my coworker is a food snob and she did her research to save us from hotel dining.  This place was great.  We sat upstairs and had one of the best, most attentive waiters I've experience (tall, slim guy with glasses).  He started us out with a sample of a mushroom and asparagus tart - which was heavenly.  After that we shared a few of the items on the menu and then the steak.  I can't remember the details of our meal now, only that it rocked.  Also, another fun thing, they beer there is sold under their liquor license as a "high alcohol content" beer.

This is definitely on my to-go-back-to list.

Margot's was bustling with activity when we walked in the door. While looking for a place to stand while we told the hostess we had a reservation, we nearly got run over by a server. Space is a little tight, the atmosphere a bit noisy, but once we were seated (immediately), I could hear well enough for conversation.

The service was out of this world. Our server was very patient with us as we worked our way through the menu and matched drinks with our dinners--I opted for an ale instead of wine--then decided on the appetizers. We went with a squid salad with chick peas, which was tasty, nicely textured (not a hint of rubber) and lightly dressed. I got a little tired of it after about half a dozen bites though--the portion was just too much. We also tried the corn & sausage gumbo, which was surprisingly light and very spicy. A bread basket was brought around and both the focaccia and the Tuscan breads were fresh and delicious.

I chose the halibut for my entree and if it's on the menu next time I go (menu changes daily), would very likely get it again. The fish was perfectly textured, both flaky and juicy, and was very mild in flavor, I wanted a touch of lemon to wake it up (promptly supplied when I asked). It came with toasted couscous--delightfully nutty--and roast tomatoes and artichokes. The overall effect of the combination was a light meal with a solid finish.

Dessert was creme caramel with cherries and french-pressed coffee. The custard melted in my mouth and the cherries, which had been parboiled, but not sugared--added a fruity sweet that was seasonal and yet not cloying in the slightest.

An excellent experience over all. I'd definitely recommend it and definitely would go back.

I've only had the pleasure of visiting Margot once.  My girlfriends and I were all in town on the same weekend so we stopped in for a nice brunch and some catching up.  The food was all delicious.  I think the most notable thing was that the portions were much more generous than what you usually get at nicer restaurants.  Our waitress was very friendly and patient with our inability to make decisions.  We sat upstairs where you're conveniently away from a lot of the foot traffic through the front room.  The place was full of sunlight and cute, fresh flowers on every table.  The whole experience was quite pleasant, and I hope to have the opportunity to recreate it.

Best restaurant I've eaten at in Nashville! The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the decor is somewhat rustic with exposed brick walls. The menu changes daily, depending on what is in season. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us pair wine with our meal. I had the Tuna with broccolini and it was just great. The German Chocolate cake was the best I've ever tasted!

Definitely get reservations; the place is small and popular and fills up fast.

Pro: With a seasonal menu that changes nightly, food is guaranteed to be fresh and always original.
Con: With a seasonal menu that changes nightly, sometimes what you see on the menu is no longer available.

Such was the case last night at Margot, where a housemade fettucine veal pasta was replaced by regular-old spaghetti, a quail was substituted with a duck, hanger steak with another form of beef and peppermint ice cream by egg nog ice cream. Granted, we had a 9 p.m. reservation on the final night before they shut down for a week, but it was still disappointing.

That said, what we did eat was fantastic. A potato croquette melted in the mouth, pizza with bacon, parmesan and cauliflower was a perfect combination, and all of the entrees were equally unique and delicious. Everything was fresh, not at all greasy, and creatively seasoned.

The atmosphere is ideal for a date, a family outing or a girls' night on the town. If I didn't live in California, I'd be sure to go again!

This place rocks!!  The food is out of this world and the attention to detail wonderful.  We had the potato chips, cheese plate, sweet potato soup, cod spread, veal, trout, and coconut brownie.  Everything was beyond delicious!  The atmosphere is also great.  Very cozy and intimate.

Living in Chicago, I was not expecting such a great meal.  Do not hesistate to try this place asap!  I will make time to come back next time I visit Nashville!

Like another reviewer, I also found this place on Yelp and made a reservation based on the positive reviews.  I was happy  I did!

Absolutely the best restaurant in Nashville, with its daily unique menu (but the foundation remains constant with six appetizer choices, six entrees, and five desserts.) to the cozy atmosphere to the professional friendly staff, this restaurant continues to give me dining experiences that far exceed my expectations!

I've heard many good things about this place and was excited to go check it out per there aren't any real good restaurants out here in nashville. Sadly, this place was above average like any other place in nashville. the service was great, but the food was ok. I tried several different things w/ friends and all of us were not that impressed. The best thing they had on their menu was their pizza. Maybe I'm a food snob, but this place didn't have the wow factor going on. I would recommend this place to other, but I wouldn't hype it up.

About a month ago I did a shout out to yelpers to find some interesting places to visit and restaurants to dine at while on a trip to nashville, and several folks recommended Margot's.  My husband and I were not disappointed. In fact we liked it so much the first evening that we then made reservations for ourselves and another guest for the next night.  She too was impressed.
Our servers on both nights were helpful and knowledgable, and offered tastings of the wines we were thinking of ordering so we could be sure we liked them.
Meals were prepared to our orders--wonderfully rare grilled lamb and a steak of some kind for hubby. The handmade chips and aoili are crazy delicious and plentiful, enough to share.  I had sweet potato bisque with tangy goat cheese and pecans (sweet and salty are great together but hard to get just right, and this was perfect); hubby had conger eel (!) with kalamata olives and I was a bit afraid to try a bite, but he insisted and it was remarkable and delish.  With us having 5 meals on two nights with appetizers and main courses (no desserts unfortunately) we were very impressed by the selection and presentation and freshness and creativity.
The place is funky and quirky and I like that and also appreciated having this choice among a million ribs and barbecue and buffet places.
As you Nashville folks say, if I ever get back to the area, I'm fixin' to go back to Margot's.

The menu is small but solid and with a price point that cannot be beat for the quality of service and food. I personally enjoyed the decor and atmosphere, almost as much as the French pressed coffee, I said almost...

I love this place.  I try to eat here for brunch at least once a month, although i'd love to eat there more than that!  Their menu changes weekly I believe, possibly more often.. And the best part is that its not outrageously priced, but they could probably get away with it!  You MUST make reservations if you want to be guaranteed a table.  Recently I ate there and they had for a brunch starter a halved grapefruit with bruleed sugar on top.  It was really good... plus the heat from the torch made the grapefruit extra juicy.  I also had their crepes which were stuffed with gravlax (a cured salmon), asparagus, cream cheese, and fried capers.  I'd never tasted fried capers before.. but it added the best flavor and texture to that dish.  The atmosphere in Margot's adds to the meal in the sense that it is very cozy and rustic feeling.  The tables have white linen on them with a small little vase on each table containing a few fresh cut flowers.  The building itself is very old and charming.  I'm glad Nashville has this place.
