This hotel reminds me of a miniature version of a Ritz Carlton. It is very European decorated and has spectacular service. The rooms are fantastic. They are new with the best beds. The whole hotel always seems clean and very classy. I definitely recommend this hotel for a very classy, upscale stay.

We are fans of the resort and will revisit it soon.
We did a family trip. There are no "kids" in our family, so have an adult get away was what we were looking for. It was my wife, her parents and her sister. We just all wanted to slip away from the every day. Marco Beach Resort gave us that escape. In the past I have stayed at Marriott Resort next door...which is filled with scream kids, families galore, and a very expected family type environment.
Marco Beach Resort rooms were great. Every one of them look out at the ocean, which can't be said for other rooms. The living room was a little small, but it is a sacrifice for a kitchen and balcony. The beds were comfortable, the rooms great, and beach out of this world.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights there and wish we could do more! We will go back. -

It pains me to give the Marco Beach Ocean Resort three stars since they did a fantastic job for my friend's wedding reception (hence the reason I was on Marco Island and the reason I stayed at the resort), but as a resort I was just really disappointed.
Let's start with the good:
-the staff is really really friendly. Every one we encountered was so nice and helpful. The beachfront bar made us drinks at 10 am Saturday morning even though they weren't technically open yet which we thought was really nice. Plus when my husband and I went down to the bar before the reception, the staff was really sweet about putting on the Ohio State football game for us.
-all the food we had was good from breakfast at Sale e Pepe (I had two scrambled eggs, potatoes, and crispy bacon) to all the food at the wedding reception (the mini crab cakes were delicious and the grouper, which I never had before, was very nice).
-the terrace and ballroom where the cocktail hour and reception were held were really nice. The terrace was the perfect sunset cocktail hour location especially since it afforded such nice pictures. Honestly, as wedding location, I would give the resort five stars and would recommend it from a guest's perspective.
-valet was only $13 and not the $18 advertised on the resort's website.
The not so good:
-the rooms were pretty medicore, especially for a resort. The living room was pretty small and the bathroom was no bigger than ones I have used at Holiday Inns and Hyatts. The whole weekend my husband and I kept saying that the rooms at the Palazzo in Vegas are so much better.
-unless you know where you are going, it's easy to get lost. There is a total lack of signage.
-the beds are not that comfortable. Thankfully both nights we indulged in a bit of alcohol which helped us fall asleep.
-no free internet. Aggghhhhh, why can I get free internet at a Best Western and not a resort??
For a $169/night, I was expecting more. Some of the large hotel/casinos in Vegas I have stayed at for much less money have been so much better. I think if I were to return to Marco Island, I would stay somewhere else.Listed in: Hotel, motel, Holiday Inn...

Review from Samantha D.

I echo the previous reviewer's comments....I was here for a friend's wedding, which was lovely and the hotel did a nice job. However there are some major drawbacks. First of all, as soon as you step off the elevator all you smell is the new carpeting, not exactly a welcoming scent. The rooms were nice, but nothing over the top. We had a two bedroom suite, and thank goodness I staked a claim to the king size bed, because the other room was quite tiny. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I won't be back unless its for another wedding.
