    Awesome place!
I don't have kids, so I wasn't sure if it would be okay to go in, but I had just finished a not-so-fun doc app't at UCSF and needed some pampering.  SO GLAD I went in to Mani+Nanny!  The place is super clean and the owner was REALLY attentive - I noticed that someone came in who had a ding from her mani the day before and the owner made sure it was promptly fixed.  Okay, back to me...I loved the decor, great stash of guilty pleasure magazines (US, People...) and choice of infused water, tea and W-I-N-E, which I must say I enjoyed a glass.  The technician was very good and my feet appreciated her service (I only had a pedi).  Free paraffin treatment thrown in to boot.  Nice.  I will DEFINITELY go back.  The price is a little bit more than some other places, but honestly, it's worth it for a super clean place with fab amenities.  Probably the best pedi I've had in SF.

Honestly. This was the best manicure/pedicure I have ever gotten. Even with all the little ones it was quiet and relaxing. I stumbled across this place after leaving UCSF and I am sooo glad! Yes, it did cost me $60 bucks with tip, but in my opinion it was waaay worth it. Maybe I'll just get mani/pedi less often, but I will definitely be back!!

Also, they take a strong stance on helping you grow healthy natural nails, so if you are looking to get away from acrylics, check this place out.

**UPDATE - a victim of the economy & never having a full room - Mani & Nanny appears to have closed.  Too bad.

Great idea! Li-Li was kept happy and content for nearly an hour - not bad for a tot who has only been left with a babysitter twice in his life (which might explain why mama needed a pedicure and time away from my favorite little monkey so desperately).

My pedicure? Uber-relaxing, totally painless, slightly ticklish, and absolutely flawless. I walked out feeling like a person again.

I heart this place. It is an absolute godsend for mommies!

Not only can you get a bare bones, yet quality, mani and pedi, they will watch your child, too!

A friend, my daughter and I popped in and had the place to ourselves, which was nice since my daughter wasn't quite comfortable in the playroom (she's quite shy and clingy when it comes to new places), so she was allowed to bring some toys out and play near me.

The shop is beyond clean and is a nice place to relax - there are no gargantuan spa chairs here - nice, big comfy recliners - with water, tea or wine. Yes, wine!

There is a one-way mirror that looks into the playroom as well as a video feed to a monitor in the mani-only section.

I will be back, oh yes, I will be back!

Great concept, great execution. I'd give it 5 stars if parking were easier - kind of a strange location for this type of place. That said...
*Service was nice - these ladies took their time & gave good, solid manicures & pedicures. It isn't a high end spa type - but it also doesn't charge those high end prices.
*Everything was really clean, and actually really pretty inside! Love the decor.
*Baby area was nice, new (duh) and organized. Babysitter was attentive and friendly, and kept my baby (and his playmate) entertained and happy for 90 minutes! Not everyone can do that! It'll be interesting to see if they're able to keep up the space - babies have a tendency to destroy stuff!
*Nice little selection of higher end baby stuff - it'd be fun to see that grow too.

DEfinitely worth checking out - with our without baby, I'd say.

    Woo-hoo, what a great idea.

Having a baby and being a full-time working mom, I feel guilty about taking time for personal  frou-frou on our limited weekend time.  Guilt-no-more!

However, when I called, they told me they are only open on weekdays (until 5pm) and closed on weekends. Sigh. They will have longer hours and open weekends in September.

Until then, painting nails will continue to require some negotiation skills.

    5 stars in anticipation!

This place is great. Very quiet, clean and super awesome to have a Nanny watch Reese while I got a much needed Pedi. Yes, the price is steep w/ the cost of the Nanny (another 10 bux) but really - who cares! It is about making life simple and easier for us busy and tired Moms.

Parking was a pain and since my Pedi was wonderfully longer than I thought - I was worried about a parking ticket. I would park in the Kaiser lots next time, for the peace of mind.

    Great holiday gift idea :)

    What a brilliant idea!

    Staff: Really nice and friendly
Service: Mani+pedi- good quality, overall they did a good job and always asked if the water temparature was ok etc.
Nanny: I went with my sister and mom, and my sister has a 6 week old, and they were wiling to take care of him, although he slept through the whole thing! But there was another lady with a 9month old and the nanny seemed really attentive playing with her.

They also offer complimentary glass of wine, if you want to relax while getting pampered! :-)

    What a great place!

On my first visit I was a very large 9 months pregnant. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, and the owner Stacy made me feel at home. Kim gave me a much needed relaxing mani/pedi. I knew I'd be back.

On my second visit, I had my 6 week old daughter, and though this time I did not opt to use the nanny, Stacy made me feel comfortable and even held and burped my little one. (she still has the magic touch) Kim did a wonderful job on my tired toes. The service was excellent, my toes look perfect, and I feel so much better.

mani+nanny is a clean, comfortable, and very hip place where mommies can feel at ease knowing they are in a safe and supportive environment, and not feel guilty treating themselves. The cost is well worth it, and I look forward to my next visit.

Fantastic idea! Keep up the good work!!

Mani+Nanny is a good concept but they are still definitely working out their kinks. I do not have kids but came in for a mani/pedi a couple weeks ago. They were training a new pedicure technician who really did not know what she was doing. The more experienced woman came over to step in from time to time and ended up finishing the job, but I wasn't as relaxed and satisfied as I could have been. And the worst part is, they didn't offer a discount for having a trainee do my nails! $30 bucks is steep for a pedi anyways. Isn't it common practice at a hair salon to have a discounted cut when a trainee is doing your hair? Anyways, the owner is really nice and the salon is clean and beautiful. I'd say wait a few months until they get their staff in order.

A good nail bar even if you don't have kids. the owner is cool & responsive. the product is higher end and green. the space is great as well and it's convenient. it's a good compromise for those of us who don't want the run of the mill nail bar or the high end $50 manicure at a hotel.

My nails were in serious need of attention, but with a toddler to chase all day and being eight months pregnant, it was difficult (read: impossible) to fit in until Mani & Nanny came along.  Thank goodness this place exists now!  My son (2 yrs) hasn't spent much time in a daycare setting (tried a few times at the gym...didn't go so well!), but he had a great time in the tot room here (I could see him playing with the trains via the monitor).  The actual mani and pedi was also great.  I would certainly come here just for the mani/pedis.  Great place!

This place is great on many levels. The space is clean and modern looking, so you feel like you are almost in someone's living room. The staff is very friendly. I went with my sister and her 3 week old baby and they are so accommodating with kids. Not only are they set up with the play room, but they are just helpful with the kids in any way they can be, whether by handing the mom the baby to feed, or throwing away a dirty diaper, etc.

I also felt really comfortable with the products they are using. They are green products that don't have harsh chemicals. I was really happy that all the tools were properly sterilized as well. They even showed me the autoclave packages. I sometimes am left wondering about tools at other nail salons.

It is a bit pricier than other salons, but I think it is well worth it for the comfortable atmosphere and piece of mind.

All I can say is that my toes looked great and I had an hour and a half of lovely kid-free pamper time. My kids were so happy in the playroom. My 3 year old son said as we left, "Mommy I liked that school!". Music to my ears. Can't wait to go back. SF needs more places like this!!!!

A wonderful new service has been added to the Divisadero corridor! mani+nanny allows busy moms (and anyone else!) to get high quality manicures and pedicures in a beautiful environment while their children are watched by knowledgeable, friendly staff. Stacey, the owner-operator, is friendly and helpful offering organic green tea when I arrived. The space is lovely and serene in addition to Amy's top notch pedicure. Tell your friends! This salon is a life saver for busy moms.

mani + nanny is amazing.  I've just found myself without child care and with a 2.5 year old.  I'm taking a little sabbatical from work to be a full time mom, and need a spot like this badly!  It's the perfect place - a very hip, comfy interior with a super fun space for my kid.  She loved the nanny, and I loved the nail tech and rose petal water to put my tootsies in.  Run, don't walk, and enjoy every minute of this fantastic mani + pedi.
ps: my fingers and toes have rarely looked this good!!

Outstanding!  For a place thats been open for 5 days, they are total pros!

I brought in a rather frazzled bride and her 15 month old on friday.  They treated us both great - and -  I have way soft truly bootifull  toes as well.  Clean, quiet, nice colors, really accommodating.

Expanded hours and high quality service will go a long way.

If you are a mother of young children, and finding it impossible to feel relaxed and pampered, then you haven't been to Mani + Nanni.   There is a playroom, equip with toys and a nanny, for your child to play in, while you are getting the royal treatment.  They accept children 6 weeks to 6 years.  You'll feel safe and/or overprotective by being able to watch your child on a video monitor during your treatment.  The owner, a mother herself, is extremely sweet and accommodating.  On top of all this, you will also leave with a great mani & pedi.

Loved my experience at this nail salon!  I have two children under 3 and rarely go for manicures and pedicures anymore. However, i had a wedding to attend, so thought I'd indulge.  All around excellent service. The owner  was extremely pleasant and helpful.   Loved my nails and the pampering.  During my treatment, via a TV monitor, I watched my children playing in the lovely children's room. Completely trusted the childcare.  :)  And as we walked back to the car,  my daughter (2 1/2 yrs old) says to me,  "that was fun, mom!" Gotta LOVE that. I'll definitely be returning to mani+nanny.

This nail salon just opened and is fantastic.    The feeling you get when you walk in the door is so different from all the other (higher end) nail salons in San Francisco.  Somehow they have pulled off peaceful, tranquil and hip.   The staff is terrific and knowledgable.   They are all about customer service/satisfaction.   They check in with several times on your service to see if you are satisfied.   There is a much attention paid to health/quality in both their processes and products.   It's a top notch service, by a great team in a lovely location.

I saw a gorgeous playroom and hear that they will play with your children while you get your nails done.    I don't have any, but what a great idea.

And with a Starbucks right next door...... I'd highly recommend Mani+Nanny..... if you have children or not.

I wanted to love this place. As a mom with zero time to get a pedi, I really wanted to love it. But I can't again part with $50 for a mediocre mani-pedi.

We were greeted warmly at the front desk, and the nanny was very sweet as well, and immediately had my 4 year old son's trust and attention. But the manicurists were just, well, kind of mean.  My friend received a nasty look for exclaiming "Ow" after her toe was cut with a cuticle nipper.  There was then a bit of tension following that moment that really just should not have been there. My manicurist was pleasant, but then seemed very annoyed when my son came out of the play area to say hi to me.  The woman with 2 children to our right was appearing to get the same reception from her pedicurist.

The services themselves were very brisk, not too much scrubbing, buffing or massaging, and the polish job lasted only a few days, when I generally can squeak out 10-14 days on a pedi.

Bottom line: if you love kids and open a business that openly welcomes children, then ensure your entire staff shares this attitude.

What a beautiful space and the owner has thought of everything that allows a mom have a moment of peace and pampering. Lovely staff that did a great job and could not have been more concerned about my needs. It had been almost 2 mos since my last pedicure so this was definitely a treat.

I am really a huge fan after one visit. My daughter is 14 months old and luckily I have plenty of support, so I was not desperate for a mani or a pedi, I just needed/wanted one and thought it would be a fun experiment to see if the treatments were any good and if my daughter did well hanging out with a stranger in a new place for an hour. I was beyond impressed. The space makes sense and it is very clean. Everyone there, including the owner, Stacy, who spends most of her time there, was super nice. Kim was incredible. I have not had a great pedicure in a long time and it was so refreshing! I will be making mani+nanny my regular spot from now on with or without my daughter.

I went in a bit skeptical since I am used to my local $22 mani/pedi place and was thinking $50 was a bit high for a mani/pedi.  In a bind needing a mani/pedi badly and having my 11 month old with me, I indulged myself.  What a treat!!!  It is by far the most thorough and well done mani/pedi manicure I have had done in ages (so much better even than the high end spas).  They took there time and did amazing massages included as well.  And the "nanny" did a great job with my son when he through a tantrum with me leaving him.  The owner could not have been nicer and more welcoming.  I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and with beautiful nails.

Where have you been all of my life!  Mani + Nanny is a dream come true.  I went in for a pedicure today with my 18 month old daughter and the whole experience was top-notch.  Stacey, the owner, is a delight and very welcoming.  My daughter entered the "tot spot" with a squeal of delight after seeing all of the CLEAN and new assortment of toys.  Her nanny was hands on the whole time.  How do I know?  Because Mani + Nanny has a flat screen video feed of my little darling as well as one way glass so that I can watch her from the comfort of my own pedi station.  I can't say enough about Mani + Nanny -- it's the perfect place to do a little nail upkeep while enjoying a little down time for yourself.

AMAZING PLACE! I needed a mani pedi bad and my babysitter wasn't available so I remembered this place and went for it. Great decision. It is the cleanest nail salon I have ever been in. I brought my nine-month-old boy who loved the play room and had a great time with the caretakers. Meanwhile, I enjoyed my very lavish and extra special mani/pedi. You can even watch your little in the playroom on a closed circuit TV. The price is well worth it.

I brought my almost 3 year old daughter with me for my pedicure today.  She loved the playroom!  And loved playing with the other little girls that were also there.   I was so relaxed in their comfy couches with cup holders for holding your complimentary white wine or green tea.  This IS one of the best pedicures I've gotten.  They're very thorough and they add hot towels on your legs after a very relaxing leg massage.  I really enjoyed getting my pretty pedicure, while watching on the flat screen.  I laughed when I saw my daughter playing happily and just putting toys everywhere in the playroom.  I thought to myself, "Thank goodness I don't have to clean THAT up!"  I'll be back again...what a great concept!

I want to like this place, I really, really do. It's a 4-minute walk from my house, it's clean, it's pretty, it's a brilliant concept, everyone is so nice.....  but they just don't do a good job!

I went there for a pedi in July. The owner is so sweet and friendly, offered me complimentary wine or green tea and we chatted about our 4th of July plans. The pedicure was great, really enjoyable experience except for a very weak leg massage, but some people like that, so I tend not to hold that against them. I didn't inspect the polish too closely before I left, but that evening I noticed the polish had not gone to the edge of my nail-- on any of my nails! It was really strange, and a huge bummer, especially since this is one of the pricier places. We left town for the weekend, and after being in the pool & on the beach, the polish was terribly chipped, so I didn't go back & say anything, just decided I would not go there again.

But then last week, I gave them another try. I'd been home with the flu for a week and was finally better & had a wedding to go to the next day, so I wanted a mani/pedi, and didn't want to go far. Again, lovely experience, but I kept an eye out for the polish not going to the edge of my nails this time, and it's a good thing I did. My toes were fine, but I had to ask repeatedly for the woman painting my nails to paint the entire nail. I finally had to give up & settle on it being good enough. She was really sweet and we had a lovely chat, so I tipped her well. I wish I hadn't-- less than 12 hours later my nails were chipping like mad, and less than 24 hours later, the polish was peeling off of my fingers. The polish peeled off a couple of my nails in one piece. I had a wedding to go to that night and was SO embarrassed! I had to peel the rest of the paint off my fingers (which was FAR too easy to do!) just so I didn't look trashy at the wedding. What a waste off money & time!

I'm so sad that my experiences were so bad-- I really want to like this place, but I will never, ever go there again.
