Ironically, The Manhattan Cafe, (unlike anywhere I know of in the city it's named after) offers microbrews for $3.50 and generous mixed drinks for $4. Unbelievable beer selection! Best Athens bar ever.

I wish we had spent more time here, but so many bars and so little time. Great atmosphere and the best liquor selection of the bars I went to in Athens. They have rye, so you can have your old school Manhattan here as well.

Oh, yes, the Manhattan.
Now that I live in Manhattan, I miss the Manhattan. That was one cool, cozy bar. I spent my last few days of Athens at Manhattan, daydreaming about moving to Manhattan in a few days, wishing I could take the Manhattan with me.
Have I said the word Manhattan enough in this review?

Hands down, my favorite bar in Athens. Maybe my favorite bar anywhere. I love that you can get a warm mulled wine in the winter and a refreshing Mai Tai in the spring. I love that you never get the same glass twice. I love that they've left the illustrations on the chalkboard unchanged after all these years. I love, love, love you Manhattan Cafe, you are what every bar should strive to be.

God, how I miss you.
I spent many a college day/night in this bar, drinking my brain away.
I have not yet found a bar that made me more comfortable or served such exquisite (and random) cold, unfiltered sake. Mmmmmm...
Every night I went there, my friends and I would compare and contrast the lamps we would want to take home and we would laugh, and be happy.

Awesome bar. The sangria was *aweful*, but the other drinks were swell. The music was great, the decor was entertaining. Great scene. Out-of-towners will definitely feel comfortable here, and the outdoor seating was refreshing but warm in late march.
Oh man, I really miss this place. Such great character and the bartenders are really nice. Order the Maker's with Blenheims spicy ginger ale.

I love this place. First bar that was ever a regular spot for me here in Athens.
Good drinks, funky glasses, efficient & friendly bartenders, and many a familiar townie on the loose.
