My family and I went to the Mangy Moose on the recommendation of some family members who had visited in years previous.
The first thing you'll notice about the restaurant is the sheer amount of stuff thats there. I made the comment that you could play "I Spy" for hours with just one object. There is tons of stuff littering the ceilings and walls of this large two story main dining room. Old movie posters, stuffed animal heads (one with green lightbulb eyes) and just lots more eclectic items. We came in around 7 on a Sunday night and the place was pretty much empty but I imagine it could get packed.
The staff was very friendly but I did notice that most of them were female, many of them good looking and dressesd to accent that point. Nothing wrong with it but it kinda gives the impression that you're trying to hide something in my personal opinion.
We ordered the Baked Artichoke Dip which was delicious and plenty cheesy as an appetizer. My dad ordered the Idaho Trout, my mom, the Bison Meatloaf, and I ordered the burger (how original). The food was out after quite a long time but it was hot and fresh. My dad got about a quarter of the way through his trout and realized it was salmon. The recipe was exactly the same (pecan encrusted and brown sugar butter) but it was salmon rather than trout. His guess was that they ran out of trout and just made a substitution. My mom's meatloaf was good and the currant sauce gave it great flavor. My burger was good but nothing special but I guess thats what I get with not being adventurous.
The prices are a little on the steep side but are probably on par with anything else in the area and the portions were large enough that you didn't feel gipped. I also noticed that the menus had the date printed on them. I'm not sure if they rotate their menu items but that would be pretty cool if they did.
The Mangy Moose has a relaxed laid back feel with some good food for a decent price in Teton Village, Wyoming. If I ever make it back to Grand Teton National Park and this area I will definitely check out the Moose again.

Came here for lunch on the back deck and was pretty disappointed. Service was fine, though slow. The menu is tiny and pretty underwhelming. I had a chicken wrap of some sort that was okay, but overpriced for what it was. My boyfriend ordered the buffalo burger which was laughable. 2/3 of the burger was toppings with a thin, tiny patty of meat.

Also, the fries were limp and cafeteria-like. I refrained from one star since I've heard this is more of a night-time, bar hangout and my chicken wrap was okay, but I was not impressed.

As if the JH mountain were not enough, follow it up with a few rounds at the Moose.  We hit the Mangy Moose every day we left the slopes and ducked in for lunch a few times as well.  It can get very crowded, but no worries, everyone is laid back and there to have a great time.  Not much of a crowd during lunch.  I had some of the hottest wings I've ever eaten there.  The waitresses were very quick getting drinks or giving us refills.  They had some great local brews on tap and the usual stand bys for those less adventurous types.  Try the Obi One.  There is a balcony and second room for the Moose and it looked like they get pretty packed when bands hit the stage at night.  Prices were very inexpensive and you will have a great time.

There's not many places to go after being on the slopes for 6+ hours and wanting a drink to relax afterwards.  Enter Mangy Moose.  It's large and crowded and the waitresses are mostly on top of their game with the tables.  We never had to wait longer than 5 or so minutes for our waitress, even when the place was packed.  The food is okay, the beers on tap are the local kind -- and Bud Light.  We made it our meet up place after skiing and it was good all around.

I am so glad to see the Mangy Moose is still around.  I still have a bumper sticker that say moose on the loose.

While the food isn't amazing, this was where we usually found the cheapest lunch and good beers to go with it.

You can glide down to the back entrance and walk directly into the bar. The better food like the nacho plate that could almost feed four people doesn't start getting served until after 2:30, but it still isn't a bad place to get food when the food on the slopes is easily 2-3 times more expensive.

Later in the day, you can usually find seats up stairs, but it starts getting really packed once the lifts close (obviously), so try to get in a little early.

This place is packed! Great place to people watch.  Have to love the Moose hanging from the ceiling.  Not many places to hangout and eat around Teton Village, but this places makes up for them all.  The bar food could be a little better...but I hear the main restaurant is pretty good.  Lots of locals here too.

One of a few choices if you want to eat/drink/dine at the Teton Village at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  This would be the spot favored by the college age/frat/ski/snowboard bum crowd.  They had a nice shot of jim beam/miller lite drink special for $5, but ultimately we hoofed it over to the much-cooler Alpenhof for Fondue and accordion music.

We stopped for lunch in the downstairs cafe this summer on our way to Grand Teton National Park.  We had sandwiches which were simple and good.  It was weird to see everything with no one around.

We just got back from vacation in Jackson Hole, WY.  We were staying in Teton Village and found this place to be a great casual, last-minute option for dinner.  I liked the unpretentious atmosphere and quick seating.  I reserved a table for a party of eight on http://opentable.com just a half-hour before we showed up.  The food was decent and the service was good (they could be a tad more friendly though).  Most importantly the cocktails were good and strong!

THE apres ski party bar in the Teton Village.  Easy to get to at the bottom of the slopes- everybody who skis Jackson Hole has to check it out once.  I'm not really a fan of being tired (boarding all day at altitude) and then being rowdy and drinking in a western themed sports bar, but if that sounds good to you this place is probably perfect.  Cute waitresses in short denim skirts, slow service, bad food, good beer, party tourists everywhere looking to make friends.

This was our de-facto meet up location after a long day on the mountain.  Get someone to head in before 4:00 to grab a table, before the crowd rolls in and camps out until 6:00 or 7:00.  Food is decent,  cocktails are plentiful and affordable ($12 pitchers, $3.50 hot toddies).   Fun and unpretentious apres ski scene.

The first night the service was great and the food was mostly good (loved the mushroom beef barley soup, the beef brisket was too spicy and definitely on the dry side). The second night, service was terrible (he forgot our appetizers and decided to bring them out with the entree, as if we could manage to eat everything at once while it was hot!), and the brownie sundae dessert was disgusting (jarred hot fudge, cold brownie, and a scoop of poor quality ice cream).  Very hit or miss here.

there is nothing better than a few pitchers of beer and a the nachos at the moose after a great day of skiing at the village... it get super pack once the lifts close but if you have a friend the gets done early have them get a seat in the bar... the crowd is great and if you stay long enough you might get to see some music...
