I love Mango Thai. I also enjoy their sister restaurant Chow Thai Pacific Rim near the North Dallas Tollway. This is smaller and less expensive, but the same food. My favorite is the Tom Yum soup which I get extra spicy in a large bowl. I skip the noodles and order it with seafood which consists of shrimp, scallops and calamari. It's spicy but delicious. I usually order the crab and avocado rolls for starters. The cucumber bed is delicious in itself. I have also tried the beef and chilies which is great as well as the pad Thai. I don't think you can go wrong with anything really. I've always had excellent service at both locations.

When our family first moved to Plano, instead of ordering in pizza - we opted for Thai food. Mangos was the only Thai place I knew in the area. I was introduced to the restaurant by my co-workers many moons ago. They were Indian and liked dining on their vegetarian fare.
I rated them a 3 because I would say that their food is decent, but not super authentic. It's definitely more catered to a Western palate. However, I do like their chicken satay and noodle dishes.
They do get 4 stars because they are one of the first Asian restaurants to have modern minimal decor. Others tried to mimic later down the road... Noodles Avenue pops into my head straight away.
They get 5 stars for being the only Thai restaurant close to the house. Bear in mind, I discovered this place back in '99 or '00. Several have cropped up since then, but I still reward for being an oldie.

Excellent Thai food! The noodle entree that we ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and their appetizers are all perfect portions. They have a dessert menu as well, but not much to choose from. The service was nice and friendly. They have a TV in there as well.
You can also order carry-out as well, and the price is fair.
Highly recommended.
Mango has been serving solid Thai food many years. Their curries are all well prepared, you get a lot of food for your money, and it's quick and convenient.
Decided to give Mango a try based on the reviews of my fellow Yelpers. We ordered the corn patties as an appetizer and shared two entries: Ginger Sea Bass and the Beef with Chilies and Basil.
Things started off poorly. The corn patties came out looking more like poorly done crab cakes - thick and heavily breaded unlikely any Thai corn patties I've eve seen. In good examples almost all you see is corn when you look at one of these patties. The binding is nearly invisible. Unfortunately looks weren't the only issue as in spite of apparently being a deep fried version the patties themselves had very little taste. There is a bright side though. The patties were served on top of a very small mixed green salad that had a very nice light dressing. My wife and I both abandoned the patties and polished off the salad instead.
Sea Bass needs to be cooked with a lot of respect to avoid ruining it. I give props to the cook for pulling it off in our entree. The fish was very well cooked and served on a bed of mixed vegetables (broccoli, bok choi, some asparagus, etc.). The fish itself tasted fresh and exactly the way a good sea bass should taste. All this said neither my wife nor I liked the dish that well since our taste buds were set based on the menu description. The "spicy ginger" sauce had no spice at all and if they hadn't told me it had ginger I don't think I would have guessed a ginger sauce based on the taste. I certainly wouldn't want a really heavy or strong sauce which would overpower the seabass. But there is a happy middle ground and this recipe missed the mark.
We both loved the beef dish. They offered 4 spiciness ranges (mild, medium, hot, very hot) and since we noticed the place is actually staffed with Thai people we played it safe and asked for Hot. "Very Hot" on a true Thai scale can remove the skin from your mouth :-) We needn't have worried as this was obviously based on an American heat scale (as usual, we are in America after all). It was spicy enough for me to enjoy as-is though my wife had to ask for chilies to add. The sauce was very well down and had a nice flavoring. And as with the sea bass the beef was served on a bed of mixed vegetables. Both dishes were plated very nicely and had a lot of eye appeal.
Judging based on Thai-ness I couldn't give this place more than 2-3 stars. But judged as a place serving Asian food with some Thai influences I think a 4 is fair.

Very good thai food. I'm glad they actually do ask you what spicy level you want it and I asked for the dish I had, the Pad See Iew, as spicy as they could make it. I still had to add some hot chili sauce though...but the spices they add do give it a kick.
They have some good lunch specials and many of the regular menu items are on the lunch menu too. Lunch portions didn't come out small either.
Will definitely visit this place again...

My boyfriend and I have been hitting up Mango for our Nua Nom Tok fetish for about 6 years. We always order the same thing -- the staff knew it, we knew it -- so I'm sure we got heckled pretty hardcore.
Now that we both live out-of-state, upon our homecoming, we always hit up our favorite spot. This last time, in July of this year, we swooped in for our fix, only to be thoroughly underwhelmed (read: traumatized). I don't know if it was just a fluke, or whether there's new management or chefs, or what, but the Nua Nom Tok dressing wasn't balanced correctly, which just made it all wrong. Also, none of the staff we had come to know were there, so we felt like strangers. Granted, we hadn't been there in about 10 months, but still! Strangers in our own home!
(The 5 stars are conditional. If, when I go back in a few months, the dish is back to normal, then everything is fine. If it's bland again, I'm not sure how many stars I'll have to retract.)

This place has the best Thai food I've ever had outside of Thailand. My friends and I ordered four dishes, and they were all amazing. The prices are normal, not too expensive. Don't waste your time on the Pad Thai, it's just really good Pad Thai, and there's not much you can do with that. They have a bunch of more creative dishes, which are wonderful explosions of flavor.

Superior! If you think you don't like Thai food then you should try Mango because they just might change your mind. I have tried several dishes here and have never been disappointed. The Pad Thai is my favorite. They have lunch specials that come with appetizers such as satays and potstickers for about $10 - 15.
One tip... they will ask how spicy you want it and choose carefully. The medium burns a little, the mild is hardly noticeable. I can only imagine what the hot is like.
One more thing... do yourself a favor and order the mango sticky rice for dessert. It's fantastic and not like any other sticky rice I've ever had. It's so good you'll want two.

Perphaps it's because I'm from a big city, but I came into Mangos expecting great things only to be somewhat disappointed. Going on Sarah's review I, too, ordered the Nua Nom Tok. The dressing was overly sour. After a few more bites, I really couldn't stand it any longer. The ambience is just average. The tables and seats are more modern, eccentric than anything else. At least there should have been some Thai decors for a Thai restaurant. Overall, I can't recommend this place for dinner. Maybe lunch is much better, but I won't have another opportunity to re-visit this place.
Tucked away in the strip malls of Plano is a great little Thai food place that is reasonably priced with good service. Everyone was pleased with their main courses and I thought mine was particularly good...the Pineapple Shrimp Red Curry. The Panang Chicken and Pad Thai were also delicious and we even had enough leftovers to bring home. I have read other in other reviews that medium is very spicy but I did not find that to be the case. I thought it was spicy but not at all over the top. My husband got his hot and was sweating, though! The potstickers were good, but not close to Tom Tom Noodle House's potstickers and my Dad was very disappointed with the green papaya salad...one of his usual favorite Thai dishes. All in all though, the food was worth the visit and next time, I want to try some of the fried mango ice cream the couple was eating at the next table!

One of my favorite Thai places in dfw! The place is decorated very oddly (to me) for a Thai place. It is very, how you say, neo-contemporary. Lots of bright pastelly sorts of colors everywhere.
If you're not drinking, the last time I went, they didn't have tap softdrinks. However, the food is great! The tom yum soup is smooth and spicy, the potstickers are solid, and my personal favorite is the panang beef. Chicken is good, but there is something about the curry that meshes great with a little bit of fat that beef has. I've been going for a while and some stuff has change, but the newer recipe is great.
Try something new, go thai!

Mangos is quite a good restaurant with some very delicious food. I think it is owned by the same family that runs Pacific Rim but has more reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is very casual and small. I like all their vegetarian options.
This place has delicious food in a casual and contemporary setting. The prices are average for Thai food, around $10 per entree, give or take. They really like garnish here, the entrees are just as good to look at as they are to eat! I recommend the Pad Thai. Be wary of the spiciness level, if you ask for Medium, expect it to be hot!
I've never been much a fan for Thai food, but Mangos completely changed that. They have lots of variety that suits to many different types of tastes. Everyone in my family loves this place, and our taste buds couldn't be any more different. MY personal favorite dish is the Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice. Definately a great place to try.
I like the modern ambience of this place. I have only been once and when I was here I ordered this ground-chicken dish. I seem to remember mint leaves as a garnish. I'm not a fan of ground chicken and I'm still not but the dish I had was superb. It was spicy-the way I like it-and they have attentive wait staff who kept my tea glass full.
I love their Yum Nua (steak salad) because it's served with Sticky Rice. They're curry is also good.
