My husband's fam is from CT and this is one of my favorite CT things to do. MRR is the largest, most fun Thanksgiving Day race ever. 10,000 runners/walkers. Many in turkey, pilgrim, santa costumes! So fun. It's not a hardcore race, it's so crowded, you're pretty much forced to go a leisurely pace. There is a decent hill, but a nice downhill. 4.78 miles all together. Great way to burn some calories in preparation for the big thanksgiving feast! Good group event too, there were 7 of us running this year from my in-laws family. Highly recommended!
