My friends and I usually enjoy a good take out dinner from Mama Rosa's. Their dinner meals are really great portions for anyone. I love Italian food and Pizza since my childhood.
The penne vodka is a very tasty disk with a lot of sauce. Just the way I like my pasta to be covered. Regarding the pizza, it is not the best pizza in Bayonne but they do use fresh ingredients and they have a lot of gourmet pizza to choose from. Their garlic bread is full of garlic and olive oil. In my point of view, their is not wrong with things being full of garlic. :-) -

Plain and simple, family friendly dinner spot for locals. They say on their awning that they are brick oven, but I have never seen them use their brick oven. The pizza is served like Chuck E. Cheese on those bumpy trays. I have no problem with them because they are so friendly. Nothing special, nothing unique.

I have to say that I was not blown away by the pizza - we ordered the simple gourmet pizza, nothing spectacular, fresh basil, tomatos and mozzarella. The pizza was good, the crust delicious, but I've had better. The garlic knots were tasty.
The staff was excellent, quick and efficient, plus there were lots of regulars in here and everyone seemed to know each other and made fun of each other accordingly.
I will say that their menu looks tempting, especially the scungilli. Someone near us ordered the calimari salad, which made us wish we ordered that instead of the pizza.
We will definitely have to make a return visit because this place deserves four stars, but until then... -

Pizzas are excellent.
Lots of variety.
Thin crust. Fresh Mozzarella. Fresh ingredients.
Pizza pies come in 3 sizes.
Prices are very very reasonable.
The only place I go to for Pizza when I am in Bayonne or New Jersey for that matter.
Complimentary basket of Garlic rolls and marinara sauce are also very delicious.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Possibly the best pizza in the Jersey City/ Bayonne area. We have picked up pies there several times and they never disappoint. The crust is thin, the sauce fresh and simple- fresh crushed tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. No need to mess with perfection.
He have also gone and eaten in. The service is awesome. The staff is attentive and friendly. They seemed to make everyone feel like they were just having a casual meal in a good friend's home.
Highly recommended for no fuss homestyle italian food. -

Whenever I got to Bayonne to visit Peninsula Lodge, they usually get their food from Mama Rosas, if the food is great while it's being catered, imagine if you actually go to the restaurant.
Update: I was at the restaurant recently and have to say that the service was good and pasta dishes were great. I like the sauce and the fact that there was no issue when I asked for extra. Highly recommend. -

Among the dozens of Italian restaurants/pizza joints in town Mama Rosa's is the best!
Go in and try their lasagna... it's heavenly! -

I've been in Bayonne for about a year now. And I love, looooooove this place! Hands down its the best all around home-style for Italian food. I've had their pizza. Nice thin crusted pizza with fresh ingredients. Their ravioli is the bomb especially their rabe and sausage. My boyfriend loves their lasagna. We both love their garlic bread, chocked full of garlic and olive oil. OK, just thinking about it now makes me order some right this minute. I think I am go and do so right now. ;)

I always hear amazing reviews of this place. So, I decided to try this "great" brick oven pizza. Sadly, this pizza was and continues to be pure crap. Never again.

The best pizza sauce in Bayonne by far. It has the just the right amount of zing. They give you just the right amount of toppings which do not make it seem like they have an exact numbers formula like other places. HOWEVER, the pasta dishes are over-priced and taste average.

Good food. Nice staff. Great garlic knots. Only downside is finding parking which can be a hassle from time to time especially during the afternoon. Delivery is swift.

California needs more neighborhood pizzarias, and something like Mama Rosa's would be a great start. Their food is fresh and decently priced. People from the neighborhood came in to eat during the lunch hour, and it really seemed like the place where everyone knew who you are. I had the great pleasure of trying out their Friday pizza special: mashed potatoes, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It sounded weird at first, but it tastes as great as weird as it sounds. (As in, it's really good.)

When attempting to rate this pizzeria, I really was disappointed that I could not give it less than one star. If I was not starving when I ordered this food, I would not have even eaten it. I really do not understand what food these other reviewers were eating, but it was NOT what I had. The wings were not flavored and soggy, there was barely any meat on the bones to flavor to begin with. The pizza was obnoxiously thin, it was almost offensive that they could call this pizza. There was no sauce and the cheese was so thin I could barely taste the difference between the slight mozzarella and cardboard thin crust, they consider to be "the best pizza in bayonne." I guess your pizza is pretty bad there. You may not be able to contain yourselves with joy tasting pizza ANYWHERE else.

Fantastic food and welcoming neighborhood pizza joint. One of the best! And we're pizza connoisseurs...everything at this restaurant is fantastic, especially the fried calamari.
