have been going to Melena's since she opned her shop.
she always has great little suprises and hidden gems if you know what to ask for. Melana also offers great advice for fixing some little quirks that are always found in vintage items.
go in and ask her when she is going to an estate sale next, she comes back with items that are in EXCELLENT condition, most often not worn. recently Chanel ballet flats, Gucci scarves, even a rare LV golf bag! She prices the name brands fairly, don't expect to be walking away with Gucci, Judith Lieber or Ferragamo without paying a little extra for it.
** if you are a fur fanatic, come in the fall, often she gets items on consignment. 2 years ago i purchased a full length blue suede coat with dyed blue fox fur collar and cuffs from 1972. i get more compliments on that coat then any other clothing item i have ever bought. She always has a great selection to choose from.

I don't know whether to blab to the whole world that Malena's exists, or if I should ferret away the secret forever....ah, I can't! The ladies of West Chester NEED to know about Malena's!! I cannot go into her delightful store without purchasing something..and it's almost always due to Malena's attentive eye and stunning ability to gauge your own personal style. I've bought items that are the jewels of my closet, but that I would've never considered if it hadn't been for her "just try it on! trust me!"
I really treasure every single one of my purchases from Malena's, dresses, shoes, you name it. You'll be so pleasantly surprised when you go!
After loitering heavily around the jewelry case and admiring the Bakelite bracelets and wild pins under the glass I spotted a "sparkley" draped over a basket which I promptly purchased..... Malena's often has sales and always has something new in the shop to ogle and cause you to mooch a few bucks off your friends. Because how often do unique finds such as these show up? Hmmm...
I've shopped here for two years - and Malena has great finds! She is very friendly and her clothes are reasonably priced for the quality and style. I bought a beautiful patent-leather handbag from the 50's, maroon leather boots from the 70's and some jewelry, which I receive compliments on often.
I have taken many of my friends here. She has a great selection of vintage clothing, jewelry, hats, coats and other fine relics from the past. I only wish her store was bit larger!
Ms Malena! Your store is the real deal. I firmly believe that you are one of the revolutionaries of the West Chester hip/cool town/actually a place to 'be' movement. This is enhanced five fold by your positive and enthusiastic attitude.
This small vintage clothing store has everything from real beaver coats (Malena will lovingly and unpretentiously point out all the small details and differences among her vintage clothes. She taught me how to spot real tortoiseshell bracelets from the plastic look alikes) to bamboo beach purses from the 50s to baby blue flapper hats- with matching gloves if you please! Here is the place I got my most favorite casual flat Bob Dylan boots. And she is sincerely excited with you when you find a treasure. Malena's prices have gone up since the beginning, but I think the price of West Chester has gone way up too. No longer a 'secret cheapy favorite', but still a gem.

A degree in fashion design helps me identify how the clothes fit different body types, and trend forcasting makes the choice for the store on point with what is popular today.
