Been here twice already. First time was last year in October to get my "Iceman" pilot outfit together for Halloween. They had the full jump suit, patches, and other accessories I needed available. With one strike, I was able to grab everything I needed for that outfit. Perfect.

I went back recently because I needed some camping gear. Since I was there, I decided to pick up some survival gear as well. You just never know when we're going to have a nuclear holocaust or when the Mayan 2012, end of the world event is going to strike. I decided to pick up some MREs (meals ready to eat) and some other goodies.

This place has it all. I mean, it doesn't have every single thing you need but it sure does have a huge selection of items you may be looking for at a surplus store. I would suggest making a check list if you're planning on buying a lot of stuff. If you're just randomly browsing, don't be surprised that you walk out of there with a bunch of stuff you didn't intent on buying.

The workers were very friendly and also informative when I had questions. The prices are reasonable depending on what you're looking for. Lots of gadgets and tools in general.

It's that time of year again where we dress up, so I may need to go back again for my next Halloween outfit.

I've been in my share of surplus stores, this was my first visit to this particular one.

The parking lot was full of police cars.  Do they share a lot?  There didn't seem to be a crime in progress or a uniform convention inside.

Good variety of camping gear, camos, and police spec gear.  Lots of books for survivalists.  Prices seem a little high, but that's pretty standard with this stuff lately.  It's like they're trying to make a profit or something.

Didn't end up buying anything.  I think I prefer M&I in Pomona ( http://www.yelp.com/bi... ), probably because I'm used to it.

ahhhhhhh......  one of the last great surplus stores.

hmmmm.... where do i start?  the used chinese military flight suits?  the dutch camo fatigues?  MREs'?

this place used to have alot but have lately been switching from old military surplus to brand spanking new crap that just takes the fun outta places like these.

i can honestly say the one of the things i look forward to whenever i go here is to jump in the old military vehicles they always have out front(yes i know i'll never get married, im a 30 year old boy).

thats all...

My son's favorite store.  All the military supplies and things you can velcro to uniforms and backpacks that he adores.

I just stand in one of the aisles and work on my knitting.

Best surplus store in the great LA area that I know of. Yeah, sometimes Fred seems a little stiff, but the selection and prices here are great. Their Voodoo tactical gear is off to a good start and items get better and better. I can tell they are keeping an eye on what's popular out in the tac community. My only caveat is that the MRE's are not regulation issue, they are put together aftermarket, so if you are prior service you will be suprised by the flimsy spoon, lack of goodie accessory pack, etc.
I have probably bought more bags from this place than P. Hilton has from  Luis Vitton.

This place has a really good selection of military, camping and survival (disaster preparedness) stuff.  Their prices are really good as well.

I would have given them more stars if the cashier had been more helpful.  I went up there with my merchandise and then he told me I had to move to the right to pay.  Like it's one contiguous counter and I had to 'slide' a few feet to the right.  He could have taken my stuff and just asked me to move over.  Then as I 'slid' over, another customer darted in diagonally (he was behind me) and he got to pay first.  What kind of customer service is that?

Now THIS is a military surplus & survival emporium. It's huge. They not only have US military surplus, but surplus from armies around the world. Sleeping bags, portable stoves, jackets, military surplus clothing, ammo boxes, emergency food, how-to-books and even surplus military vehicles parked on the premises. The prices are very reasonable, and lest I forget, the staff is always helpful ! You can get on a mailing list, thier catalogues are awesome. Check 'em out.

This store has one of the most extensive inventory of surplus and retail camping/outdoors/preparedness items.  They even have military transport vehicles every once in a while.  Whether you're looking for British DPMS or OD woodland camo fatigues or backpacks this place has it.  Be aware though that a lot of this stuff limited especially if it's new old stock like former East Germany stuff.

They have wide selection of MRE and hiking/trail food as well as storage containers for them.  Water treatment and containers are in abundance as are cooking and food prep equipment.

Visiting the store brings me back to my childhood when our family would venture to The Famous surplus store in LA with the ever present scent of mineral spirits permeating the air.  Sniff....ahhhh....

Pay particular attention to their annual parking lot sale where items can be purchased at steep discount.

This place has a cornicopia of military and camping gear.  I have found so many good deals here.  They have really awesome jackets that you can get for no more that $10!  Plus they always have great deals on backpacks and tons of belts and straps.  Unlike LA area surplus stores this place does not try to gouge its customers.  They even have WWI era Swiss bicycles!
