We came to Zion this past Labor Day weekend, and had a chance to try out both their lunch and dinner... on the same day! Lunch entrees are around $10 and dinner $28.
For lunch, we had their special of the day ~ Fish Sandwich and Jerk Chicken Po Boy Sandwich. The Fish Sandwich($7.99) was made with 2 large pieces of beer battered Halibut, well seasoned, crispy batter with flaky tender fish, served on a warm french roll, topped off with slices of fresh tomatoes and iceberg lettuce, with thick cut french fries on the side, it was tasty. The Jerk Chicken Po Boy Sandwich($8.99) had smoky slices of chicken breasts, with slices of fresh tomatoes and iceberg lettuce, also served on a warm french roll and a side of their house salad. A good sandwich, but would've been better if they didn't over cook the chicken.
For dinner we ordered Elk Skewers($27, 2 skewers with cubes of Elk's meat, onions and zucchinis, the meat was bit tough and had sour taste to it), Beacon Wrapped Trout($20, two slices of Cajun robbed trout fillets over beacon slices, the fish were dry and flavorless....all I can say is, this dish sounded so much better than it actually tastes), Buffalo Steak($32, cooked medium rear, the best dish out of what we ordered), Ribeye Steak($28, not enough marbling on the meat, it was just okay)
Over all, I give 4 stars for lunch and 2 stars for dinner. I think lunch is much more tastier and wallet friendly than dinner, plus you get a great view of Zion(see picture) in the comfort of air conditioning! Check out their museum inside the gift shop, it has displays of stuffed real wild animals in their primitive forms.
Let me start by saying this place has an incredible view! With that said, the food is just o.k. There were seven of us for dinner so we had a little bit of everything. However, nothing worth mentioning here. You know when the bread tastes stale that everything is going to be mediocre. But after a full day in the park, it's a great to place to check on the beauty of Zion and have a glass of hard to come by wine!
