I am a fan of the Maine State Museum.  Perhaps if you're young and bored with life already and have no interest in local history you may not find this place interesting.  I think their exhibits are great.  I love bringing people from away to this place to give them a full understanding of Maine's great and diverse history.  You can see how sardines were canned, how the sawmills operated, how loggers harvested trees, scenes of our diverse natural resources, and last but not least, the Admiral Perry necklace.  Seek out this treasure and you will find out why it's so special!

Not the best museum in the world, but it's worth going to if you're bored.  There are so many levels and sub-levels that you can just get lost.  When I was in elementary school we used to go on field trips here all the time and play hide and seek.
