Review from Roland S.
The food and service get three stars; they're both fine, in my experience. Very friendly if you're a regular (like some of my friends), or just basic midwestern friendly if you're not. The decor is dated but didn't seem run down - just catering to a bit older crowd.
The fourth star is earned largely by the view of Muskegon Lake from the outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant and the fact that this place is centrally located in North Muskegon. If you want somewhere nice to relax and get decent food in that part of town, Main Street is the place. Try the cheese soup, chicken fingers, or burgers. -

On a recommendation from a friend, I ordered the "BAB" - Big Ass Burger. It's a One-Pound monster, it was delicious, and SUPER cheap (~$11).
The atmosphere is nothing special, though there is a great view of Muskegon Lake. The decor is circa 1993 and slightly tired. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. That said, the place was comfy enough, and I'd definitely go back. -

Food is great. Prices are okay. Atmosphere is boring. Theme is okay. people are okay. Well, lets just say its a step up from BearLakeInn.

Muskegon, MI
Since coming under new owner- and manager-ship a couple years ago, Main St has taken leaps in the right direction. Decent atmosphere gets a boost from the beautiful view of Muskegon Lake, and the menu has been updated from Chicken Oscar to good burgers and even a nice cold seared tuna appetizer. A quick update of the decor and this could easily be five stars in Muskegon.

We went with friends as we heard this was under new ownership and much better than it was in the past. I won't go back.
It was Thursday night...beautiful night. We decided to sit out on the deck. We were served drinks and given a menu by the host. After almost finishing our pitchers of beer, we still had no waitress although we saw at least two women running food plus a bus-girl.
I grabbed the bus-girl and asked if we had a waitress. She told me she would go get one. Then she came back and proceeded to take our order...all while telling us how she doesn't like to waitress and her mom said she should becuase she'll make more money. Ok, I'll give her a break becuase she was obviously thrown into serving us for some reason. She actually did a good job with what she could control...taking correct orders, making sure we had drinks, clearing table, etc.
As the sunset, the mosquitos were unbarable. The waitress told us that if we wanted to move inside before the food came that we could (without us even asking too)...and another waitress joked with us as we were walking inside...this tells me that they recognize there's a mosquito problem. All they would need to do is put up some tiki torches or buy some mosquito control method at the hardware store.
The inside decor is very sterile and dark. it's 80s'ish. Bathrooms are partially renovated and very out of place compared to the rest of the building....most up to date part but definately reflect the owners trying to cut cost to upgrade. I guess you can only do so much at one time.
The food itself was ok. Nothing special. I had a wet burrito...but I'd recommend the Bear Lake Tavern over this place anyday. Finally, our bill came and the initial round of drinks served by the host was not on there...obviously our suspicions were correct..the host had forgotten about us and no one notifed we were there originally.
