60 Friend StreetYou know how sometimes you want REAL ice cream. Not Ben & Jerry's flavors. Not the McDonald's Sundae. Not the Turkey Hill Mint Chocolate Chip. Not even the Skinny Cow.
Maggie Sundae is just the place for such an occasion. The ice cream is fantastic. It is creamy and hits the spot.
They have a variety of dairy offerings and I think coffee too.

We stumbled onto this coffee shop on our first real dogwalk in our new town. *NOTE: It's the ONLY shop in Amesbury with a DOG BOWL outside. Greatly Appreciated.
The inside is really cute, with local artists' work on the walls, a bulletin board for local events and info, and some other framed prints of, what else, yellow and black labs! (Perfect!)
The shop is a Seattle's Best Coffee vendor, so they carry pastries, coffee and espresso drinks all made by SBC. (Not my favorite, but its definitely better than the dunks down the street, plus its superclose.) They also have a wide selection of ice cream and milkshakes.
In addition, Maggie's has XM radio playing and they offer their customers free internet access while sipping on your coffee - I don't know of another place in the area that offers so much! (You may already know my feelings on the snooty Newburyport Starbucks...)
For the most part, the staff is very friendly, however on occasion you may come across the angry blonde girl who grunts and storms off when you ask her to please make a nonfat caramel latte, because she doesn't feel like steaming the milk.... If this is the case I would reccommend just getting the house brew; who wants their milk oversteamed?

Maggie's scoops a great cone, with tons of great flavors (my favorite is Tiger Paws), but they also serve up Seattle's Best Coffee, espresso, latte, and several other pastries and goodies. The store is clean, well-lit, and the walls are covered with beautiful artwork. They have XM satellite music playing all the time, and it's always a happy atmosphere.
The staff is excellent, and they are friendly to pets, as well.
It's up the street from where most people stop looking around Amesbury, up Friend Street right by Town Hall, and there's a public parking lot RIGHT BESIDE the shop, so you can get there easily.
If you're visiting from out of town, stop in. They are open year round.
