A refreshing break from your standard ice cream place. While most of Provo seems to shut off after 10:00pm, Maestro's is open until midnight, which is pretty nice when you're having a late night hankering for gelato. The agrum ace is a good choice as well as red orange - put that in a homemade waffle cone and you're all set.
Side note - one thing that I didn't know about Provo. Since we walked through downtown to get to Maestro's, I was able to see that once the clock hits 11:00pm, the cops come out in full force. I wouldn't have thought this necessary in Provo, but within two blocks we saw over ten cops, some with their lights flashing, some passing by, others stopped and talking to people on the street. Who would've thought...
Pretty good gelato, but the drinking chocolate is the best that I have found in Utah Valley. This is the thick drinking chocolate, not your watered down Swiss Miss. All they need now is a delicious Churro to dip in it. Give it a try.
I was so excited to have a cute gelato place in Provo. My experience was disappointing. The flavor was too artificial and too sweet. I don't think there is any flavor that they actually use real fruit. Now they have started weighing each scoop so they don't give you too much. I have NEVER seen that before. Never. That is just too stingy. Dolcetti Gelato in SLC is way better. They actually use real fruit unlike Maestro.
I lived in Italy for 2 years and went back during the summer of 2008. I have tried gelato in several places in Utah Valley, and this is by far the best. Very authentic gelato with great strong flavor. They have also recently added crepes to their offerings, and I'm looking forward to trying them.
Maestro's actually has very good, authentic gelato. I really like the raspberry. This is a nice spot to stop in for a quick dessert after an evening out.
