Review from Noah K.
San Jose, CA
First, let me get one thing out of the way. Both the cookies and the people here are fantastic. But the cookies... It's worth a stay just for those!
Otherwise, I had an excellent, albeit brief stay at this cozy little B&B. In search of something more personal than the a-typical corporate hotel atmosphere I landed upon Madison St Inn and am glad I did. During my stay, I was in the aptly named "Madison Room" and enjoyed every minute of it. The entire house has this friendly, cozy feel like they actually care about you while you stay there - shocking, isn't it!?
Of course, what would a review of a B&B be without covering the breakfast? In a nutshell, fresh and delicious food accompanied by coffee and juices and with menu changes daily.
If you're considering staying here, stop reading and book already. The beds? Super comfy. The breakfast? The best. The cookies? Oh, I'll be coming back if one thing is certain! -

My husband and I didn't actually stay at the Madison Street Bed & Breakfast Inn. When we arrived the inn was nothing like it looked in the pictures. The neighborhood is less than desirable with nothing to offer. The innkeeper was out of the country so her husband was in charge of things. He was not prepared for our arrival and had no record of our reservation. (It was in the books for a different evening, an honest mistake.) We were actually glad because it got us out of having to pay for the night. It's not a good area for a night away.

I had some family stay here when they came to visit from out of town, and what a cute place! They really enjoyed their visit and raved about their stay and the amazing cookies. Of course when I went to pick them up I had to get a cookie and got talking to Theresa the owner. Now this is my go-to place when I need a party catered and the first place I recommend to companies with traveling employees who need a place to stay (which I come accross alot in my job).

Really a home away from home. I stayed here for five months when I started my new gig in the Bay Area. Theresa and Ralph (the owners) are awesome, friendly and provided great service-- definitely a gem in Santa Clara.

I think personality matters most in a B&B and Madison St has *plenty*. Teresa bent over backwards to accommodate our late arrival and other needs with a pleasant, easygoing manner that really shows that she likes to be an innkeeper. We were given a good rate and conveniently located just a few minutes from the HP Pavilion where we had driven 7 hours from Eureka to see Springsteen. Great show and after, we needed a good rest and a great meal and received both. We even got to know some fellow die-hard Springsteen fans who were staying there as well, and had for years. If Silicon Valley/San Jose is your destination, this is the place to stay! Thanks, Teresa and Ralph.

Theresa, the inn keeper has been very kind in letting us use her bed and breakfast facility today for a photo shoot setting. I had the opportunity to use the parlor room, the madison room (which she even made the bed for us) and the swimming pool. I have been a local for all my life and can't believe I've never known about this place until I came across it on http://yelp.com recently - a hidden gem in the silicon valley indeed! The interior and exterior are both so well cared for and are even lovelier than they look on the photos on their website. I LOVE their wallpapers! There is so much detail from the antique items to the lace curtains and the furniture that go so well with the victorian aura. I could not help but ask if I could buy some of her chocolate chip cookies she had at the hallway, which I did! The chocolate chips STAY melted even after hours from when they've been out of the oven and the cookies are so soft and thick and chewy (and every other adjective that can be used to describe how chocolate chip cookie should be like!)
